I've never been afraid to fly. The way I see it when God wants me, he's taking me and no one is stopping it. I'm going to live my life to the fullest until he does. I just found your channel and it's great. Thanks for all the awesome content Kat. Your personality is great. #proudnewsubscriber
J Smith LOL that is soooo funny!! 😂🤣 however, I don’t think that’s how God works (or at least I hope not!) I don’t think He takes down a couple of hundred of people just because he wanted one specific person 😂 think of it this way....if a plane goes down, God probably wanted ALL of those people! 😅
I don’t believe in god, but if it’s my time to go I’d rather it be of like cancer or something so I can go peacefully surrounded by my loved ones and not with my last memory being the trauma of a plane crash and no goodbye to my loved ones…. Just saying. Like heaven or no heaven, I’d rather not die like this
The way I calm myself when there is turbulence is I close my eyes and I just try to imagine myself on a bus or in a car and the turbulence is just bumps in the road haha
jenna bosgraaf omg that’s literally exactly what I do as well haha. I’m perfectly fine flying until there’s turbulence, but imagining that always helps a lil bit
I do this too! And it really helps! We had the worse turbulence one time and I was pretty calm (I also was medicated for the flight) and my husband was actually really nervous and he is not scared to fly at all! The part that scares me most is take off! I’m flying for the first time by myself Thursday to see my husband (who is deployed) and I’m freaking out. No anxiety meds help so my dr. prescribed me something new this time, so we will see if it helps!
For me, it's a matter of a mechanical, electrical, or system failure of some sort that was missed during inspection. It's also the idea of your life literally being in the hands of a stranger.
My only fear is during turbulence, when i watch out of the window, ask myself omg who will save me here, and then some inner voice whispers, God will save you...
Honestly my fear of flying stems from 9/11. I was in 4th grade, never been on a plane, so this was my first major introduction to planes was through a national disaster. Then MH370 happened. Then US flight 1549. Then of course watching way too many UA-cam videos. 😫 The whole not being in control is what scares me.
I have bad anxiety. My fear is just being trapped and can't leave if I have a panic attack or if you are delayed and have to sit on the runway doing nothing just being trapped.
This is exactly what happens to me. My thought process is like well I’m locked in a metal tube in the air I just wanna be back on the ground. Glad to know I’m not the only one
Whenever you feel a panic attack to begin ... speak to the flight attendant and I promise it will go away ASAP. I have seen many passengers go through it, and this works every time
I am in Destin, Florida. Very hot and humid. Sounds I would hear the plane make always made me nervous. Silly, I know. My engineer husband talked me thru all of them like the sounds of landing gear up and down, flap changes when departing and arriving, speed changes (or what felt like speed changes), turbulence, what felt like sudden turns or dips during turns. Yes, I was a scaredy cat. After knowing the mechanics and a few lessons on aerodynamics, I am relieved of that mechanical anxiety. Took my longest flight yet last year from SFO to Singapore. 17.5 hours over. Not to be scary, but I have a friend who was on the United Flight 232 that crashed in Sioux City cornfields. She had some significant injuries, but recovered fully and still works for the airline today.
My bff’s dad is a retired AA pilot - while I haven’t ever been *scared*, per se, of flying/turbulence, there have definitely been some bumpy flights that had me gripping my armrest lol. He told me to think of turbulence as bumps in the road. Most of the time you can see them in advance and plan for them; sometimes they may be shallow, sometimes they may be pretty deep. However, the car is built to to withstand the bumps, and however loud the thud may be, we still make it across just fine! Ever since hearing it in that context, I’ve had zero worry when my flight hits rough air. Thanks for your videos, Kat! Good vibes from Austin, TX!
Nervous about my flight today so I’m rewatching this video. But instead of it working, I keep thinking of the Dumb & Dumber quote... “So you’re saying there is a chance.” Lol
not only do you enjoy your job, you are passionate for people feeling comfortable in the air. i have THREE flights tomorrow to get home to my sick dog and family. i was so scared, but i feel really prepared now. i love you 😭
I'm 38 and have never flown and I'm absolutely terrified. I just booked my first flight from Columbus OH to Orlando in February and came across your channel while watching videos about overcoming a fear of flying. When I was in college, I thought it would be cool to be a flight attendant when I graduated, but after I had kids I developed a fear of dying and leaving them without a mom or worse, having them go down on a flight with me and knowing the whole way down that my decision led to my kids death. Just watching videos of planes taking off and landing makes my heart race and I find myself gripping the arms of my chair. Logically I know that flights are safe, emotionally I just can't accept it. I've been planning hypothetical vacations to far away destinations (Hawaii, Italy, UK) for almost two years now and telling myself that I can't go on them unless I get on a plane. A friend and I are planning to do the Disney Princess Half Marathon (also a first for me) in February and we've already booked the entire vacation, so if I can't get over this fear then I've wasted a whole lot of money.
I went on my first plane ride a few weeks ago and really didn't like it. I made myself get onto the plane and sit down and eventually there wasn't any way for me to get off except for completing the flight. I recommend sitting in the middle seat if you can, the flight where I did that was much better than the one where I sat next to the window ;P
Thank you. So HELPFUL. Fear and anxiety have kept me on the ground. Since I can’t drive to Spain I feel 100% better after watching your video. The best!!! Carol❤
OMG, you're so cute and full of energy❤️ I know this video is about fear of flying but I just adore you. You're so kind and positive, you're always smiling and it's so nice to see such a friendly face (I hope it didn't sound weird😂)❤️
It’s not the plane going down that worries me it’s the boarding processes. As well as other people. I’m normally calm but when other people get nervous that gets me nervous.
I've always been a nervous flyer, especially during take-off but actually enjoyed the rest of the flight. But now, I have to fly more frequently and my fear is just getting worse. I am always on the verge of crying, even before boarding, I am shaking and I can see my plane crashing in front of my inner eye. I am absolutely terrified, but I still fly. I've bought books on fear of flying, I've watched countless videos, but I just can't help it. I don't even know why my fear has gotten so much worse but it's really stressful to be so incredibly on edge for the entire duration of the flights.
@@humaa101 I'm so sorry to hear that, it's not a great fear to have haha I actually had to take another flight shortly after I wrote the comment, and it went pretty well. It was 2,5 hours and the take off was super scary, but during the rest of the flight, I just did not look out the window once. I focused on my book, listened to loud music on noise cancelling headphones, and I pretended to be absolutely fine. The pretending really helped because it calmed me down. I just pretended to be on a train. Also, remember that a plane cannot crash from turbulence. When there was turbulence, I just sang along to the songs I was listening to in my head, and pretended to be in the car with bumps in the road. All of that actually really helped and I was a lot calmer than usual during those 2,5 hours. So maybe some of that will help you too :)
voldemort what actually was worse for me was the anticipation. For some stupid reason I never factored in the plane backing out of the gate (I know, stupid lol) or the fact that we were just cruising along at like 30 kms an hour just to get positioned for take off. And of course the whole take off process of going from nothing to take off kinda freaked me out. But I was actually fine once we were in the air.
I think you should get professional help. Many times it's related to a different trumatic event you have experienced in life. If anything it's more rationale to be scared of riding or driving on a public roadway in a vehicle. I wish you the best wishes it's not your fault. Live your best life.
@@wkdravenna I actually have been to therapy haha but a fear is never rational. I know that cars are a lot less safe than planes, but if you're in a car, it happens quicker and you have the option to "get out". in a plane, you really don't and you have zero control whatsoever. I know that I am terrified and that it's maybe a problem, but it doesn't stop me from flying or anything. I still fly - I am absolutely terrified, but I still fly. so as long as it doesn't hinder me from doing anything, I'm fine with it the way it is. especially because the therapy didn't really help at all, and everyone has fears.
I spent 14 years not flying, then I dated a doctor that supervised me while I drugged myself through 27 flights in 7 months. I hated every single flight and thanked GOD EVERYTIME I landed. I was even illegal in the Bahamas once for three months because I was too scared to get on the return flight. Well, it’s been 4 years since we broke up and I haven’t gotten on another plane. My mom is and air traffic controller so I’m pretty well versed on the safety measures of flight. And yet, even through all this, I am TERRIFIED of flying. It has prevented me from seeing the world.
This is a great video! You do a great job explaining this about a boat and water. I started to think like when driving over bumps or holes in the road.
I have absolutely NO fear of flying, maybe because I grew up in a family of pilots and flight attendants. In fact, I watch documentaries about plane crashes, sometimes right before I fly, and it never scares me. That said, this is a great app for folks that are afraid to feel reassured. Thanks for sharing it!
I fly a lot, ever since I was 6 months old. Never have I had a horrible turbulence like I did this year coming from Miami going to Houston. I usually don’t freak out but this time I was praying! Hard!!! It definitely was the most scariest plane ride over ever experience.
I took a fear of flying course 15 yrs. ago and this has helped me. During turbulence, pay attention to the beverage on your tray. It feels like the whole plane is rocking but your drink isn't spilling, it is just like the water puddles on Jurassic Park from a vibration. It gives you a visual reference and it is calming. I don't think you can be in a car with an open cup and hit a bump and not have it spill all over the place.
I'm not AFRAID to fly I'm just nervous about it. Every time there is a little bit of turbulence I get nervous - BUT, one way I've learned to really calm myself down is to look at the flight attendants! I figure if they are calm, everything is fine because they do this every single day, and they ALWAYS are super calm. Even if I feel like the turbulence is super bad, usually I look and the flight attendants are just getting drinks and smiling/laughing and it makes me feel better. SO, thanks for what you do!
As someone who was injured due to turbulance, I was terrified of flying for many years. I still try to avoid flying sometimes. It took me 8 years to get back on a plane after my injury but with that being said I have flown 6 times in the last year.
I have been on my first flight when I was one month old. Have always traveled by plane with my family or alone and I have NEVER been scared of flying. However, last year I got an unpleasant experience on my Los Angeles-Las Vegas flight: it was extremely windy in LV and when the pilot attempted to land the plane was so unstable that he got real close to the track and then pulled up again to try from another angle. I was in SHOCK! Now I am obviously scared of flying even though we made it safe.
My anxiety around travelling by air is not actually about the flight itself, but the whole check-in and security process. My anxieties go through the roof! Once I have gone through all that, turbulence is my second nightmare!!
The app you introducing is really soothing me Phew I’m going to south korea soon I used to be easily scared by turbulance but your video makes me much relieved. Thanks Kat!!
My daughter agrees with you about turbulence. Just like you, it gives her a calming effect and puts her to sleep. We usually keep our seat belts fastened because it's just safer.😊
Great video, Kat. I'm a newbie subscriber and loving the content. I was terrified to fly for years then I got into a long-distance relationship and my first ever flight was to the US from London! I was nervous right up until we took off, and... I LOVED IT! I was actually smiling, and I grew to really love all aspects of flying (which is the main reason I watch FA vlogs) And honestly, turbulence doesn't worry me in the least either, haha.
So you're another simpleton who picks up on what the media floats at you and burn that opinion in your brain as the new life axiom even though you probably couldnt tell the difference between a Boeing or an Airbus if you were sitting in one.
Because of all the scrutiny the jet is being put under with many aviation regulators around the world making their own I depend and investigations to re certify it, the 737 MAX is going to prove itself to be the safest aircraft in the skies today.
Thank you so much! I have a terrible fear of flying but your video helped put it on prospective. I really appreciate it. I'm going to see my granddaughter that moved out of state and thanks to you I'm going to focus on what you said. Stay blessed and safe
Another great program! I have told friends who are afraid of flying that they have a better chance of being killed driving within 25 miles of their home than flying around the world but they just can't seem to overcome their fear. Totally agree with you that the media always tries to hype airplane crashes which are honestly few and far between. Thanks for an enjoyable vlog today. As always, take care and Happy Travels! ♥️🛫🙏
This is the most calming video about getting over your fear of flying I have never flown and I'm getting on a plane very soon I'm scared to death of this kind of settled me down at least for the moment lol Great job great information
OK I'm aftaid of flying. Not cr*p in my pants scared of flying but I get anxious. Just one thing about the statistics app: it's not like you need to take that plane 12K times before it falls, probability means that that plane has a 12K chance of falling so actually when you take the plane is like drawing from a bowl with 12K tokens in it, 11.999 are black and mean you have a safe flight and 1 is red meaning that your plane will go down. So actually when you take a plane there's 1/12K chance that you draw the red token and it crashes, it can happen any time.
i'm late to the party, but i used to suffer from FoF. most airlines offer courses against it, and i took that course with swiss in'tl airlines - a 2-day theoretical course with pilots, ATC, stewards giving talks, visiting a plane on the ground (incl. sitting in the pilot's seat), lots of stress management tactics, etc. and finally a short domestic flight (GVA-ZRH-GVA) .. u learn a lot and in the end if the plane didn't move it would break .. now i love flying .. just back from athens where i broke my ankle ............ on the ground, not flying LOL ..
This was helpful. I’m a wimp when it comes to flying. Next time I’m gonna fly I’ll watch this. I’m a new sub and I enjoy your channel, you’re entertaining, thanks!
Omg this video has helped me. Cause i recently cancelled my trip, my very first flight let me add. This makes since. And I love that you are not scares to fly whatsoever.
My favorite short distant flight I’ve done quite a lot is NYC-Boston. It helps me practice for longer flights. Although I do enjoy a lot about flights, I although do get anxiety thinking about it sometimes if flying to certain places at certain times of year.
I flew on the 737 Max 5 times last year. In retrospect of the problems that the 737 Max has had I guess that AA airlines pilots did a great job of getting me where I was going. You know we can never predict when our time is up. So if I’m in the air when it comes then I know that it’s my time. I love to traveling have done so many miles in the air that I don’t worry too much about what is going on. It’s called trust in your pilots and crew every time. I always tell them Thank You for another wonderful flight as always. They ( pilots and crew) get very little recognition for all that they do to get you where your going! Thank you again for a very enlightening and informative video.
Thank you for posting this. I do have a fear of flying but I also would rather fly for a few hours to get across country than to drive for days! I’ll take a few hours of fear (and praying for a smooth flight!) than the torture of driving so far! ✈️🤣💜 ..... love your videos Kat, please keep ‘em comic’! 😊
Its crazy I wasn't scared in the beginning like I was so comfortable getting up looking out the window. But, it was this one flight, when we descended it litteraly felt like we just dropped. And the stomach feeling was insane. Lol so ever since I've been more terrified of the stomach feeling then anything else.
Minnesota has been beautiful for the past week. Truly, we get less than a handful of weeks a year when I can say that. And Kat, do you not own any furniture? LOL
Often it's a fear of anxiety or panic while not being able to leave. People get anxiety about flying about possible anxiety. The thing is though, avoidance is a common response which reinforces the anxiety and the beliefs that are under the anxiety.
I really liked this video! There’s actually a name for this that’s a psychological phenomenon: it’s called the Availability Heuristic. Human brains mistakenly think things occur more often the more examples they can bring to mind. So, we think airplane crashes occur more often than car crashes bc we see more examples of them in the media. We think shark attacks and natural disasters occur more often than they do for the same reason.
It’s interesting to see which deaths our society respects. My country has memorials for the people who died in our two plane crashes (one of which was a test flight where they were TRYING to do dangerous things to check that the plane could handle extreme situations (I don’t mean they don’t deserve a memorial, just that that flight wasn’t the same as the kind of flights we as passengers go on)) but there’s so much cavalierness about car crashes.
I used to love to fly, and then 9/11 happened, my grandparents were on their way to Chicago when the second tower was hit their flight got diverted and they were fine, but it left me terrified fly, to the point I have to now take meds when I fly, this last June I had to fly by my self, so taking meds was not an opition for me, for the first time in 18 years I not only flew with out meds, I also looked out the window, now, I was so proud of my self, now this is not to say that in the future my anxiety won't come back, but this was a big Milestone for me
biggest thing that got me over my fear of flying was 3 klonopin and a propranolol before the flight lol. I didnt fly wince 2008 after I got out of the Army. I took my first flight in December of 2020 and no kidding...at start up the engine was smoking and you could smell the fumes inside the cabin and I literally looked at it, thought "oh that's weird." and then just figured if the pilots and ground crew wasn't freaking out then there's no reason I should be either. The best cure for flight anxiety is medication (For me at least, due to having a diagnosed Panic Disorder w/Agoraphonia and Generalized Anxiety Disorder). The second is being mindful and not letting the thoughts spiral into a loop of doom and destruction. The pilots have families they want to make it back home to just as much as everyone else on the plane does. Also, I dont know how it is on other airlines but I like Delta because they have that Screen on the back of the seat which shows every possible metric about the flight. Current speed, altitude (which helps when it feels like the plane is dropping a hundred feet mid air from turbulence but the real time evidence shows it was merely 10 feet or so), temperature outside (plane engines are more efficient in colder weather), and my favorite....Time and distance to the destination. Also, it's good to remember that the most dangerous parts of every flight are the first and final 2 minutes. Everything between those times should be pretty smooth (minus the light/moderate turbulence). Which brings me to a question for anyone watching, and I ask this to people who are flying all the time. My answer always seems to differ than theirs: Do you prefer taking off or landing? Persinally, I enjoy landing because in my head I rationalize it that the flight is close to being over and unless something astronomical happens, it will be over soon. Posting from Seattle. Have a flight to Atlanta and then onto Chattanooga in 2 weeks from now. My medication and mind are ready!
The last (emphasis on last here) flight I took was 14 years ago. It was from Reagan international to Denver. On the way back to Reagan after visiting Denver for a week, the plane had to make an emergency landing in CLT because someone had a major panic attack but looked as though they were having a heart attack. That’s my biggest fear of flying. The fact that you’re up in the air and there’s nobody qualified to help/assist in a medical emergency. I live a mile down the road from Norfolk airport now and even just seeing the planes take off (it’s kinda cool) scares me and takes me back to that day. 😖
“The chances of anything happening is EXTREMELY rare..” My anxiety: so you’re saying there’s a chance I used to LOVE flying, but experienced severe turbulence across the Pacific Ocean 7hrs into my 15hr flight... seeing the flight attendants face is what scared me the most and a look that I’m forever haunted by.. normally I look at the faces of flight attendants for comfort in turbulence; I think them getting thrown into the aisle was startling for them, so naturally I have been freaked out ever since. So medication it is bc I can’t NOT travel. Thanks for this video 💗
This helps soo much!! It’s actually so funny because in about two weeks my sister and I are taking LAX to CLT on American Airlines in an Airbus 321, and I’m a bit nervous. We fly frequently, but this will be our first time flying alone. I always thought it would be cool if you were our flight attendant on that flight 😂, but this helps a lot!! Love your channel!!
I WAS scared of flying when I was in my 20s, only because I had not been on an airplane since I was a small child and I had built up anxiety about it. So at 24, I went on a flight with a boyfriend from Seattle to El Paso, Texas. Turns out, our flight had quite bad “moderate to severe” turbulence, to the point where people were actually screaming, and some of the overhead bins popped opened. There was all this commotion going on, and I was literally just sitting in my seat, holding onto the arms. After about two minutes, we got thru the worst of it and my boyfriend looked at me and asked me if I was ok, I think he was worried I was in shock. I started laughing and just said, “well, was that BAD? Because if it was, I am totally fine! I can handle anything after this! That was actually kind of fun!” That is when I realized that I actually enjoy turbulence, and I really love flying!
I love turbulence too! I used to do frequent long haul flights from UK to South Africa. I always loved it when turbulence started, I found it relaxing!
I am SO like you 😂 I laugh when turbulence hits, all the time! I can sleep anywhere, anytime! Turbulence is like rocking in a chair for me! When my pax are scared I usually tell them, it's like the streets in Montreal, and Montreal is worse!! It really is bump on the street, but in the air!
I have a flight in a day and I’m barely holding it together. Needless to say I will be drinking a tall can at 6am to take the edge of for my 2.50hr flight 😭😖
@@danielleh765 didn’t for me! I chugged a bottle of cognac on the way to airport for my last flight to Antigua. Needless to say I was trashed by the time I made it to gate and refused to let me on for two hours. So I drank a bunch of coffee, and ate 6 egg McMuffins and thankfully I sobered up enough to make the flight. Unfortunately, I was still terrified so I took 3 Valium 2 xanax and a Tylenol PM. The only reason I made it was that I passed out on the runway before take off... this was 6 years ago and I haven’t flown since 🤦🏽♀️
I don't have a fear of flying, but I do have severe panic disorder. On the rare occasion that I do fly, I will let the FA know that I have it and they will check on me throughout the flight. I also like to see the pilot/co-pilot and thank them for what they do.
My fear of flying is kinda strange and no one else ever relates so I never get advice on it but if anyone has any helpful tips, I would love to hear them. Basically, I'm scared of throwing up, but the thing is it's one of the most terrifying things to me. Once I'm somewhere that I'm scared of (in the air for instance) I start to panic and overthink and then eventually throw up. Once I start overthinking, I won't stop until I'm back somewhere safe, so my fear is throwing up for an entire plane ride...
I personally like the rain and prefer cool weather. I'm in Santa Barbara and it has been rather warm lately. I've gotten more used to the turbulence . When I fly, I always go out of country. New Zealand is my favorite place to go.
Fayetteville, AR and yep - rainy here but it’s been a hot summer so I’m loving the rainy weather. Bring on fall! Regarding the fear of flying - I travel a lot for work so fly either private or commercial a few times a month. Rarely am I freaked out but good to have this information to fall back on when those times happen. BTW - visiting Charlotte is on my bucket list! It looks beautiful...
I’m so glad I flew despite my fear of flying. I know logically the odds of dying in a plane crash are slim. And of course my first flight was a few months after all that Boeing Max 8 stuff and it fueled my fear even more. But it was worth it for the experience!
I'm so with you! I actually love turbulence haha. And yes, the media does cover that stuff because like you said, its rare, but if they were showing the amount of car crashes, it would be 24/7
I have been waiting for you to make a video on fear of flying. So weird, I know soooo much about aircrafts. I’m obsessed with learning about them but I am terrified of flying. I hate it! I have to be drunk & medicated to somewhat relax. I’ve flown to Hawaii, Boise & NYC. I passed on an international flight for my honeymoon because I was too scared of the 12+ hours. I am flying from LAX to Seattle in a couple weeks and I’m dreading it. I’ll download that app and watch this video before we board. Thank you so much!
Great info! I do not love flying but I do it to get to go somewhere quick, I do take something to calm my nerves so I can enjoy it. I feel a little better after you vlog. Thanks!
My biggest fear is mechanical failure. Like, extreme. I've watched way too much Seconds From Disaster and now whenever I fly my brain is constantly trying to convince me that the same thing will happen to ME. I'll read all the statistics and listen to pilots and stewardesses and I DO believe them. But I tell myself that everyone who has ever died on a flight believed them too, and look what happened. I know it's not productive, I certainly don't try to have these intrusive thoughts, but it's next to impossible to stop them.
I’m reminded of a story that ran on one of the local TV news shows here (Peterson Field / COS) about 20 or so years back. This was a class run by one of the airlines that flew out of the airport here, designed to deal with fear of flying. It ran, I want to say three days or so, the “final exam” being a flight out and back to COS. Well...the weather gods threw a curveball at this group and their final: The day the flight took place there was an ice storm!
This was a really informative video. Even though I love to travel, I still get a little nervous when flying, but I'll refer back to the things you talked about in this video on my next flight! 😊
Thank you. That makes me feel better. I’ve flown before but I booked a flight recently and was very freaked out about it even though my flight is not till the summer. I’ll download that app
It stills scares me. Most of my family are pilots and my uncle just died on a private plane. He was the pilot on a private plain and it crashed right after takeoff and killed him and 2 brothers and 1 sister. After that it scares me so much to fly. I have done it once but had to be drugged. I really hope one day to get over it. RIP Uncle Phil ❤️❤️❤️
First, I'm sorry for your loss. From anecdotal research, it seems like most crashes happen doing take off and landing. Also, you hear a lot about private plane crashes.
I miss being a child and not having a care in the world and enjoying planes. As I grew up I’ve gotten so scared and my anxiety is just so bad. :(
me too !!!!!
Same !!
Same here. I went on planes all the time when I was younger. The last 5 years or so I'm scared of everything because of GAD.
Same as me. As a kid I could barely sleep the night before just of the excitement of going on a plane. Now that is not the case.
I can totally relate!
I've never been afraid to fly. The way I see it when God wants me, he's taking me and no one is stopping it. I'm going to live my life to the fullest until he does. I just found your channel and it's great. Thanks for all the awesome content Kat. Your personality is great. #proudnewsubscriber

This is my problem I fly in a few weeks did you ever over come it any advice ?
This is exactly what happens to me. My thought process is like well I’m locked in a metal tube in the air I just wanna be back on the ground. Glad to know I’m not the only one
Whenever you feel a panic attack to begin ... speak to the flight attendant and I promise it will go away ASAP. I have seen many passengers go through it, and this works every time
Hey how did it go?@@cassandra2685
Hey how did it go?@@Hello-wg5oc
LOL.

LOL
not only do you enjoy your job, you are passionate for people feeling comfortable in the air. i have THREE flights tomorrow to get home to my sick dog and family. i was so scared, but i feel really prepared now. i love you 😭
I'm 38 and have never flown and I'm absolutely terrified.
I'm sure you'll do great!
@Shlby n I just prefer not being next to the window ;)
how did it go? I booked a trip and began to have major incontrolable anxiety since. If i cant go, i wasted a shit load of money.
My dad told me that flying is just like riding a bus. Turbulance is just like a bus going over potholes.
Thank you.
HILARIOUS that there is an app for that! I love knowing the fact that turbulence soothes you. Don't know if I'll ever get to that point!
Me too :(
@@humaa101 I'm so sorry to hear that, it's not a great fear to have haha
I actually had to take another flight shortly after I wrote the comment, and it went pretty well.
@@wkdravenna I actually have been to therapy haha
but a fear is never rational.
Sooooo helpful, thank you!
Even before this video, your videos helped me get over my fear of flying. Thanks again!
SO, thanks for what you do!
oh come on, we all know fligh attendants disapear quickly....they cant move, so they sit in the back, thats not helping at all
@@birdhovnowhat helps someone may not help you. Be kind you don’t know what someone is going through.
As someone who was injured due to turbulance, I was terrified of flying for many years. I still try to avoid flying sometimes. It took me 8 years to get back on a plane after my injury but with that being said I have flown 6 times in the last year.
There you go! Now I want merch that says "I love turbulence." 😂
And you look great, Kat. No worries. Santiago has been very hot lately.
Tank you .. I flew twice today 6hours with one layover it was so easy after watching your video.❤️
This video really helped me out. You said turbulence is like a rollercoaster and my nerves went away. Tysm!! Also you're super cute!! ^^;
The app you introducing is really soothing me
Phew
I’m going to south korea soon
I used to be easily scared by turbulance but your video makes me much relieved.
Thanks Kat!!
My daughter agrees with you about turbulence. Just like you, it gives her a calming effect and puts her to sleep. We usually keep our seat belts fastened because it's just safer.😊
Thank you so much I usually have massive anxiety right before my flight and your video is soothing me im still scared but its alot less thanks you
Great video, Kat.
Thank you Simon! I think it's always that fear of the unknown or lack of control. I appreciate you watching my channel!!
I tried that app and entered a 737 Max for a cross country trip. It said, "We strongly suggest taking a train".
bugatti314159 hahahahah too soon
There were a few years of safe flights performed on the 737 max just by the way. It's pretty awful the way they did the program.
I saw the title and already like it! I’m going to listen now. THANK YOU! ❤️

YES! We live in anchorage and in the dark cold months, it gets to you SO MUCH!
Me too. Especially with kids.
I feel 1000% better about flying now! THANK YOU 🙏
I’m so afraid of taking off but everything else doesn’t bother me like I LOVE turbulence like you. Helps me sleep 😂
Minnesota has been beautiful for the past week. Truly, we get less than a handful of weeks a year when I can say that. And Kat, do you not own any furniture? LOL
LOL! We are already in the process of packing stuff for the move!
I've been to Minnesota in August. It can be a little humid, but the weather is gorgeous.

I love that you used so many hilarious SNL skits on this!
Thank you for this video. I'm terrified of flying and I take medication to do so but thank you for this video. I love your content❤
does the medication work for you while in flight? which medication is it exactly?
Thank you so much for your video!! Please don’t include videos of a crash or people screaming, that actually makes people’s anxiety so much worse
Random, but your eyebrows are always so perfect. Love you girl!
Thank you! I got really lucky in the eyebrow department lol.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! This actually makes me feel a lot better :)
Thank you sooo much for this video!! I fly but I do get anxiety. I’m working on it.
I used to love to fly, and then 9/11 happened, my grandparents were on their way to Chicago when the second tower was hit their flight got diverted and they were fine, but it left me terrified fly, to the point I have to now take meds when I fly, this last June I had to fly by my self, so taking meds was not an opition for me, for the first time in 18 years I not only flew with out meds, I also looked out the window, now, I was so proud of my self, now this is not to say that in the future my anxiety won't come back, but this was a big Milestone for me
I also wanted to add that I flew into the very airport my grandparent were diverted to
biggest thing that got me over my fear of flying was 3 klonopin and a propranolol before the flight lol.
My answer always seems to differ than theirs:
Do you prefer taking off or landing?
Loved this and so reassuring
“The chances of anything happening is EXTREMELY rare..”
My anxiety: so you’re saying there’s a chance
I used to LOVE flying, but experienced severe turbulence across the Pacific Ocean 7hrs into my 15hr flight... seeing the flight attendants face is what scared me the most and a look that I’m forever haunted by.. normally I look at the faces of flight attendants for comfort in turbulence; I think them getting thrown into the aisle was startling for them, so naturally I have been freaked out ever since. So medication it is bc I can’t NOT travel. Thanks for this video 💗
Thanks Kat! Very helpful video, and I will be downloading that app!
You are very welcome! I hope it helps calm some of your nerves!
I am in rainy Washington. For winters, I use the daylight light that gives UV like sunlight. It helps
Does that work?

BTW - visiting Charlotte is on my bucket list! It looks beautiful...
Thank you for this video ! I need to hear this before I fly.
And yes, the media does cover that stuff because like you said, its rare, but if they were showing the amount of car crashes, it would be 24/7
Very reassuring thanks. I’m a terrible flyer!
Ok but the boat and the water comparison really helps! The water can sometimes be a bit choppy and the boat's just fine. Thanks!
This actually really helped thank you!
Great info! I do not love flying but I do it to get to go somewhere quick, I do take something to calm my nerves so I can enjoy it. I feel a little better after you vlog. Thanks!
Thank you so much Wendie!
Alamance County North Carolina!!! In the application process for AA and Delta. Love your videos. Keep it up!
Not sure what I’m scared of besides maybe takeoff but I’m going on a 10 hour flight & this made me feel better
To finish: there were no problems with the flight/final, with a couple of the passenger/students looking pretty relaxed afterwards-even on an icy day!
The only problem I have is taking off. Everything else I’m perfectly fine with

Also, you hear a lot about private plane crashes.
roxcyn his was right after takeoff. Hopefully one day I will be better. Thanks sweetie
So, American from Chicago to LA will never go down in a few thousand lifetimes since it already happened. Good to know!
