    Sweet and salty works.
Back when I lived in Hawaii, I had a neighbor that made spam cookies.
I don't know what manner of sorcery she used to conjure them, but they were the best cookies I ever had.
She refused to sell them, she always made them for free if anyone asked.

It wasn't chunks, or glaze. It was like an oatmeal cookie with a sweet, salty, and savory taste to it.
It wasn't like just a treat, it satiated hunger.
I really don't know how she made them.

I'm old enough (unfortunately) to remember when each can of SPAM had a "key"

scrape it of the SPAM before slicing .

I had never heard of Musubi prior to this video. Thanks for the explanations and now I have an interesting way to eat Spam that I have never tried before. I'll try it first using the uncut can instead of a mold, trying rice 4x the width of the Spam width first and adjust from there. I also want to try quick bread shaped in the Spam shape to make a little sandwich that way. Always great content and makes a person aware of possibilities! If I can find the figgy pudding version of Spam, I will try it too.

Interesting! I had always thought the name Spam came from ‘separated ham’, rather than spiced. Not quite as pleasant, ha.

I remember hearing it was for Shoulder Pork and hAm, but I have also heard that no actual records of the origin of the name have been preserved, so that nobody still around knows for sure.

SPAM-Specially Prepared American Meat. That's what I was told WAYYYY back in the Dark Ages. My dad served in WW2, and that's what he knew it as.

The first time I had musubi I thought it was gonna be disgusting. It's instead ADDICTIVE. I don't know why but I think they add crack to the sauce.
