  • Electric vehicles are the trend right now. More and more automakers are going on to make more EVs with the hope of upscaling their sales. But as much as it might seem like this is the case, it is the complete opposite. EV sales have gone down drastically, leaving only the giants at the top. There are a number of reasons for this, but it all boils down to the fact that other automakers that have not specialized in EVs are selling them at a higher price than expected. This is because they are trying to get into a market that they are not used to. But because of the drop in sales, Ford and GM have decided to dismantle their entire EV strategy. But what is the real reason behind this? Let’s find out, shall we?

I'm wondering why people keep saying that EV demand is down, when I look at delivery numbers they seem to be up overall. Why do people keep falsely claiming demand is down?

If EV production is cut, then California should consider building its own EVs to meet their 2035 EV mandate.

The biggest issue is the traditional assembly line is too slow and too inefficient. High speed mass production is what is used by Tesla. Where Tesla produce 3x as many cars per hour as VW. Plus they are planning to improve further on that speed.

Tesla has the advantage that it can think of anything new without worrying about supporting an older technology. It does not have to justify keeping internal combustion engines going. Ford and General Motors would do well to circle, the wagons on their old investments to let them get the maximum of what is left in the petrol driven market and start up completely new enterprises to compete with BYD Tesla and the rest. You can’t do both at once, and old energy is still the largest, but it should be identified as a sunset industry with polluting factors, quantified, and planned in the least harmful way for staff and the buying public.

Price, price and price. Only the Elite can afford these toy cars. What happened to the low trim packages you could afford at one time? Our wallet's aren't that deep.

What we are seeing here is that customers don't want an EV at any price. It has more to do with not wanting to buy a vehicle that has to be charged on a long trip. Not having to find a charging station, not having to worry if their car will work in cold weather or whether it will catch on fire. Hybrids are the bridge to ICE powered hydrogen vehicles which are only about three years away. Cheap easy to make hydrogen is about to end the EV fad,

yeah that's BS. did you offer them for $15,000 ? NO, you did not.
a shit ton of folks are entirely motivated by price: you'll see that when sub-$20,000 chinese EV's enter the US market through the nafta back door - it scares you and legacy ice shitless and you'll be facing life or death: which means you'll spend billions, if necessary, lobbying .gov to "fix" it for you - so you can continue to sell $80k pickup trucks

@@davewhite113 Lol, only if you live in US with a government that have no problem destroying other country just to keep gasoline running. Hydrogen are nowhere close while EV problems can be fixed relative quick, unless you are in US. And Im sure Scandinavia are as cold as Detroit.

This video does not go deep enough into the subject. Volvo is totally committed to ev, and their management found a way to make money on ev and experience market growth this year. You need a management team that is all in. You have many revolutions to do when moving to ev. New plants. No dealership. Vertical integration. Computer on wheels. Write your own software in-house. Let's say legacy auto makers are run by Dilbert's boss, the guy with the pointy hair rather than by technical people. Management is out classed and can not move through the technical challenge. The management in legacy is not up to par. They need to start over.

There isn't enough rare earth metals on the entire planet to make enough batteries to run EVs! Batteries are the problem as well as all the coal were gonna burn trying to make enough juice to charge them! Which we can't do! The whole EV thing is a joke!
