i'm just catching up on spotify, but I had a thought about this game. We saw this in the playoffs, when this team plays for their captain, they can't lose. This win was for their captain. That's my opinion on it anyway. But this showed me what this locker room is like, the respect they have for Connor and for each other. Connor, Leon, Nudge, Hyman, Nurse, Elkholm and guys like Derek Ryan have created a culture. Those guys dont give up, don't stop, they work hard on and off the ice. Wouldn't you play your ass off for guys like that?
There are 3 different qualities of Donair meat that I'm aware of. Lowest is the pre-packaged garbage I wouldn't feed a starving coyote. That tends to be what's used on pizza and it's not in a wheel. Mid quality is on a wheel but uses lower quality meat. More "reddish" and has an aftertaste. Highest quality on a wheel and properly cooked and spiced. The donairs cost a bit more but you get what you pay for. My favourite local place for Donairs is Cosmic Pizza and Donair. I've had several of their sauces but my favourite is Tzatziki (Sweet sauce is okay too).
Game 48. Long post follows with base game statistics including some for the Vancouver Canucks. Read, don't read, up to you. These are BASE stats not detailed ones. General Opinion: This was an ass kicking with the Oilers toeing the posterior of Vancouver. They led 5-0 at the 32 minute mark. Corey Perry is the DUDE. The Dude you want on your team and dread if he's not. Lets just say he played the game this night (I mean a DDT to Quinn Hughes, come on and that was during a Garland Scrum too (and he was a bad boy with 2 penalties tonight) and everyone on the Canucks (and Oilers, and in the stands and watching or listening however you do that) knew it. Yes, Hyman 2 Goals and an assist. Leon a goal and 2 assists. That's great. Honestly that first goal by Hyman after the incredible backhand pass by Leon from basically the Oilers goal line to JUST in front of the Canucks Blue line was incredible. Ekholm made an exceptional pass to Henrique too for his wrap around and anyone who says Emberson didn't fight for the puck and win the fight before passing it to Kapanen is blind. Former Oilers Vincent Deharnais was a menace on the ice (for Vancouver) getting 3 penalties (at least one of which was scored on) and it wasn't a good night for him. Few stat notes: Podkolzin: 6 HITS (led in hits) 2 Blocks, Nurse: 5 Hits, 2 Blocks, Hyman: 3 Blocks (had the most blocks for the Oilers). Nurse, Stecher, Perry, and Kapanen all had coincidental minor penalties. Vancouver ate 26 minutes (nearly 1/2 the game) in penalty minutes (of which 8 were coincidental). Oilers were 50% on the PP and since Vancouver had ZERO PP opportunities their PK was 100% (stopping all 0 power plays (lol)). Take care all
