    Partly because of this video I searched out dealers in my state that carry Maruyama, I have a few dealers in the area but only one stocks the trimmers. I stopped in a demo’d a B27L Turbo and left with one. It’s too bad that such a good brand is so unknown, even in the lawncare industry. I’ve only put a couple tanks of gas through it so far but I absolutely love it, my Stihl FS94 is now up for sale! Thanks for the review!

    I purchased a second Maruyama (B30L) last year to replace a previous Maruyama that I had used for over 30 years. They are such a reliable machine that I searched for a place where I could buy another when my first trimmer wore out. Like you say, they're not readily available. This is my first experience with the head that you can thread and wind. I like this feature but have found it to be very hard to remove the head when necessary. Your video made it look easy, but I have found it to be quite hard to press the 2 tabs and have it come free from the head. I don't know if there is something I am doing wrong, but it almost makes me regret buying this new Maruyama. Do you recommend applying WD40 or something similar to the internals to make it easier to remove?

    • @PowerEquipmentMan
      @PowerEquipmentMan  3 роки тому +1

      I have never had any issues getting the head apart on these, but then again I have fairly strong hands from being a mechanic. I would not recommend spraying any lube on the head. The only reason you should ever have to disassemble the head is if the string gets stuck inside, otherwise these is no need to remove the cover just to rewind the head. You could also try a replacement head for it, one I use from Oregon is 55-985 amzn.to/3vvSvDU

      I've owned a B30L Turbo for four years now. I'm 44 yro, 6' 3" and even I have a hard time reaching my fingers to push both tabs. It seems ironic, because one doesn't imagine Japanese hands being very large either, but what do I know, I'm in Kentucky.

This thing takes 8 to 10 cranks to start whether it’s cold or hot. I haven’t checked the spark plug yet for the gap to see if it’s correct. You are loading it kinda wrong. Spin the top and hold the bottom. Prevents string from tangling up.

    I prefer torque over rpm. My echos just do everything I need for less and less CC and weight even on their 3020 X series. I'm not saying mairanna weed trimmers are bad products but they look to heavy and I have to pick trimmers my back can handle which echo not only fits my budget it also is easier for me to carry around for long periods.

      Your eyes are an amazing judge of weight, sir.
      ______Echo SRM-3020___ - Dry Weight without cutting head - 12.1 Pounds
      Maruyama B300L Turbo__- Dry Weight without cutting head - 12.2 Pounds
      However, if you're truly after the torque, the Turbo Maruyama models' gear reduction is 1.9 : 1. Echo's SRM-3020 is only 1.62 : 1.
