  • NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED - (Columbia 41597) Recorded at Bradley's Studio (aka the 'Quonset Hut') on November 11, 1959, 'The Key's In The Mailbox' would become one of Freddie Hart's biggest hits while under contract with Columbia Records from 1956 through 1963. Composed by prolific songwriter, Harlan Howard, the session was packed with the finest musicians and singers that Nashville had to offer. Under the production of Don Law, along with the core group of 'A Team' players who provided the backing track, background vocalists included the Jordanaires and Millie Kirkham along with a nineteen year old new-comer to Nashville, Darrell McCall who added additional tenor harmony vocal sounding very much like vocalist, Ray Price. Issued as a single in March of 1960, 'The Key's In The Mailbox' is a slick, tight, country shuffle that presented an absolute, on point example of the then burgeoning Nashville Sound.
