My Saturday mornings aren't complete without a Tim Pierce video and a cup of coffee. Always great to see a master at work.
Absolutely and that smiling personality his smiley face always uplifts me
Mines in the evening with a beer.
I agree, maybe not the same ritual as you but with the sentiment. He's one of those players that puts out content that i can watch in an academic way, but also to just have on while I'm doing something else. Like when you go off to college and am loving it, but coming home on sundays for dinner.
You said it pal! 🎸 ☕️ 👌
God... that tone is absolutely killer in the intro. One of the best guitar tones I've ever heard!
I would look at every guitar player's pedalboard. The joy is just non stop. TY.
Sitting with Leland looking at the book was FANTASTIC!
Awesome board Tim! The Lee Sklar book made it all the more fun and personal...you brought us all in to the club very briefly which was great!!
I love watching Tim's videos, has so much love and passion, really inspires me to keep trying to be a musician. Much love from Brazil!
Thanks so much Tim, a super valuable lesson with great insight and examples of how you build your sound.
@Tim Pierce Guitar Every video you share makes my heart so happy to see the joy you get from playing guitar. This one is in my favorites now because I have the Dingbat board and PX-8 Plus setup too except I have only a Mondo power underneath and not an additional PP2, although I’ve considered it vs using output splitters. The presets and MIDI on the switcher are so valuable when you have so many different tones. Thanks for showing us your board and much love from CT!
I play the same notes as Tim, unfortunately not in the same order.
Great video dude. Pedal board info was awesome. It’s amazing how much passion and or sentiment can be expressed by just using our fingers.
Tim, you're one of my favorites for so many reasons. Thanks for sharing!
Love all your videos, Tim! Thank you!!!
I never thought of using a looper with nothing plugged in as an insert point for other pedals. What a great tip! Thanks Tim.
Can always depend on Tim for an informative video, with lots of smiles. Love seeing how much joy you have when playing!
Leland sent me and I'm glad he did. I've watched several of your posts this year and have always enjoyed them. And I always make sure I catch the ones when you're over at Norm's. One of these days I hope to get lucky and stop in when you're there. I miss Mark being there but Lemmo is doing a really nice job in GOTD spots. I subscribed and rang the bell. Great pedal board too!! Have a good Sunday and stay safe!
Thanks Tim! Your playing inspires me👍🏻
Always a pleasure to hear and watch you play! Thank you.
Thanks!
Tim, since discovering you and your channel, whenever I am asked about who my favourite players are, you are always mentioned. Thank you for your videos and sharing your expertise with us.
When are you going to write a book Tim? About how you got started with guitar, experiences, songs you’ve played on, people you’ve met, favorite guitars, gear, etc. Your journey. I’d definitely buy it.
Just fantastic man. Thanks
Best guitar channel on UA-cam. To get a peak behind the curtain with arguably one the greatest session guitarists today is a real treat. It’s done with zero ego! Totally humble and happy to be doing what he’s doing. I’ve said it b4 I’m definitely a Tim Pierce fan boy! lol
Thanks for the book link. It’s going to be a great Christmas gift for my friend .
It is so crazy cool to take a step inside your world TIm! Thanks for sharing.
Great video Tim!
So amazing! Im inspired beyond beyond
nice tour of everything....thanx
Great video! Especially the book review. What a life you're living.
Thank you for a very versatile pedalboard! Great sounds!
So many dreams so little time! Great stuff Tim!!
Great vid...love the pics...books on the list..
Just sold a bushel basket full of pedals, and a 90's vintage ADA MP-1 rack. Replaced it all with a Strymon Iridium modeler, a Strymon Riverside OD and a Eventide H9 that I just upgraded to Max. When playing live, I run the rig stereo thru a couple Tech 21 Power Engine 60's for stage monitors and direct to FOH. Couldn't be happier with the Iridium models , and with plenty of woodshedding time on the calendar am just beginning to scratch the surface of the capabilities of the amazing H9.
The goal is to get amazing players like Tim to have to sound like me.
Very Cool. Really enjoy your channel Tim!
Thanks for posting Tim, a lot of experience shared there in 13 mins
That was the coolest pedal demo in the history of pedal demos!
GREAT Tone Tim!
Great way to demo a pedalboard. That PRS sounds glorious! Awesome tune
That volume after gain before modulation is genuis!
Nice! Love Talley’s studio. He’s a great guy too. I dig your pedal setup. Pretty much covers it all
My pedal wants list has just grown. Love the Lex and the M5.
Lee has a great channel. Cheers
Can’t say enough nice things about the human being that is Lee Sklar.
Love the pedal board. Thanks for sharing. When I first got back into a band just a few years ago, I wanted to step back and just have a few pedals. Well, now my board is already overflowing with pedals on the side! Guess I just have to get a bigger one. 😆
Thanks so much for the smiles Tim - Music should always be fun!!😎
Whenever I hear those strange sounding pedals I think “when would you ever use that?” and now I know how amazing they sound in Tim’s hands!
Nice. Also digging that record collection in the back. Looks like a record store.
Tim, awesome board! Agree, Luxe is an amazing pedal - the Digitech Polara too - those Lexicon algorithms are just incredible.
Thank you Tim for showing us your pedal board because based on the video I was able to locate the type of loop switcher you use to put together my board. I had been looking for something like this and it will be perfect! Although not mentioned it in the video, for anyone else curious what it is, it appears to be a JOYO PXL-PRO or a similar version. They go for around $170 or less. The new version the PXL-LIVE also has midi and the capability to switch channels on your amp I guess. I’ll find out more when it arrives. Tim, I would love for you to show us how you connect to your iPad. I’m guessing that is with the Eventide? Cheers! 👍🏻🎸- Kurt
Ooooh Wow! that pedal board sounds really cool!!
Love the strymon Lex 🎸
Love the production value on this - not the usual cheap looking guitar tutorial 👍👍
Great idea with the head on its side. My 65 Amps Empire is almost the size of a 100 Watt Marshall head, so it needs a 2x12 or 4x12 to rest on, but that way I can record with a 1x12, and use the Empire.
I spotted The ventures and Les Paul records in the background! Nice!
Great video Mr. Tim! Hope you're great!
Tim you are basically Yoda - love this and all your content - Christmas present to myself is the masterclass as I think your approach will help me the most. And Lee Sklar ... damn maybe that’s Christmas present #2!
I notice it's missing a Boss Metal Zone
...and a DOD Grunge! LOL!
Always a pleasure!!!
That book looks cool!
Great video.
Damnit Tim!! The Strymon Lex is lush...gotta have it! Sold a copy of Lee’s book too...he’s the Tommy Tedesco of Bass.
I also run an M5 and a dual loop switcher up front to insert offboard effects or my other pedalboards!
My dream pedalboard has to switch between flute, acoustic guitar and electric guitar. What a mess it becomes to interface between rack gear and the pedalboard. But I have it working, but still almost close! - Your board sounds killer. And looks very professional. Inspiring. I'm using Peavey 50/50 rack amp, Boss ES-5 switcher , Air-corp 500 mic preamp to the PB for the flute. An old Yamaha mixer to blend in my side chained (Superego+) guitar synth channel. And a host of my favorite pedals that are quite different (and some homemade) than your killer choices. Killer tone dude. Just awesome! My favorite pedals have to be my Deja-Vibe and the Strymon Volante.
I need more and more midi stuff to control my Frankenstein. It never ends,,, thank God- I'd lose interest if it was finally done! LOL!
Just had XTS build me a board with so many of the same tools! Loop for "pedal of the day" and everything!
Does seem strange to give the finger in a picture , but it does bring out a whole different facial expression and attitude...Lee tells lots of stories on his channel. My favorite has been the flooded apartment with JT...
Awesome! Love that Leslie sim. Slightly lighter than a 122 :)
That man is my Hero!!!
wow i have most of these pedals my favs are the nobels and mostortion.
8:00 almost sounds like Jeff was about to start playing some “Giant Steps” by John Coltrane.
That’s a heavyweight lineup on that session! You need to do video with sklar!!!
Thanks @Rick Beato for tuning me into your page, Tim. Subscribed! Question: so for your session work is it more common to print all your effects and the producer artist will run with that, or do you always print a dry mult as well? I've found a lot of people like to control all the (to borrow a term from Steve Lukather) "grease" themselves. I guess it really depends, eh? Anyways. Killer rig and killer playing and sound as always. Cheers!
Don't worry Tim about filling that board. I usually cannot run a board without at least 16 to 20 pedals. I have a custom built 3 tier board. I hate unhooking and changing in and out pedals. Least as possible.
oh amazing, wasn't paying attention at 10:25 then I looked up to the screen. LMAO what a great idea!
The Bird is the Word!
Tim! What amp are you playing through here? Merry Christmas to you and your family.
I use modeling amps, so I get all time based effects from them. However, I prefer using a clean amp model with an OD pedal to get sweet bluesy low to medium gain tones, with the neck pickup on a Strat or Tele, similar to your sound in the opening jam here. My favorites are my Klon clones, my RC Booster clone, my Zendrive clone, and a TS clone. That's all I ever need.
Hey! Here by recommendation from Leland Sklar. Good stuff Mr P.
Nice. First comment. I know you hear this all the time but you are without a doubt, the nicest guy in UA-cam. I started my channel a year ago and you have been the biggest influence. I try to be courteous and show genuine interest to every viewer. Thank you for all you do. You deserve all the success you've achieved. -Mark
Hey Marc thank you so much for the nice comment good luck with your UA-cam channel! Tim
I just love this man's guitar playing - can guitar playing get anymore musical !!
Jeff Beck maybe lol. He has been my favorite for a long long time though. I have only known about Tim for maybe 2 years.
@@bojangles6444 I’m going to see Jeff soon just got my ticket - I love his playing too - I hope Vinnie is on drums :)
@@thehightenor2596 yeah I saw him once before Vinnie I wish he was there I dunno who the drummer was.
@@thehightenor2596 where is he playing it’s not America is it?
3:34 Lex Demo made me buy a Strymon Lex!
Amazing playing and vibe as always. May I ask who made the 8 channel looper?
Hi Tim, just heared your fantastic little solo in, 'No Lookin' Back' by Kenny Loggins it's got really cool phrasing ideas in there would love to see in one of your videos sometime:) take care! alex
I've given the H9 two tries...it's just the most expensive one-hit-wonder on the market. Will have to give the Nobels ODR a try though.
Mmm, makes me wanna dust off my Lex and start jammin’ - awesome board man!
Tyler Thanks! Just watched your Cory Wong interview... Awesome
Tims' enjoyment at the end of a scale or run makes every video worth watching.
Hi Tim thanks for sharing your trade secrets I'm just wondering what that loop strip is?
The one missing it’s the Tim Pierce Signature Overdrive Pedal. Funny but I have mine on my pedalboard
Awesome, I'm building a JTM 45 Clone and want to make a killer pedal board with it so far I have a Redwitch Fuzzgod. I trying to keep each pedal under 100 bucks.
So nice to see a board not full of the newest flavour. Like, you have your favourites and you don’t mind not constantly shopping.
Love your videos and your playing! Maybe you mention it and I missed it... what’s the switcher you’re using on the board?
Who makes the input loop switcher on the top right? Good idea to have “a way to get things in and out of the pedalboard”!
The stankiest of stank faces at 7:02. You are a guitar God, Mr. Pierce. Shred on.
The PX8 has an insert point between loops 6 and 7 - is this where the signal goes to the amp input and back from the FX send?
I would just about die and go to guitar nerd heaven if Tim did a pedalboard overhaul/rebuild with Daniel Steinhardt.
Yeeeeaaaaaahhhh!
Great idea!
You have put together a great new board. Interesting, for example, that you continue to use an M5, and I don't think you're alone with that. I have a question: Why don't you use a looper like the G3, ES5 or MK-V?
I really enjoy watching Tim play. He's a very skilled guitar player. I just really worry that he is trapped in his circle of gear! It looks like there is no exit out of there.
Single handedly kept Guitar Center afloat !⛵⚓🎈🍺
Hey, Tim. I was wondering if you have a preference for 22 or 24 fret guitars?
Although I rarely, if ever, use the last two frets on a 24 fret guitar, I prefer how it moves the entire fretboard left a bit.
Gorgeous.
All those pedals and no compressor pedal of any kind. Amazing. He must be getting some natural compression by way of his technique, the output of the guitar, and the combo of the pedals and amps that gives it a natural squash and limiting factor; a soft knee approach that keeps it all smooth and tucked in the track properly.
The first pedal ( slide rig ) is a compressor.
I do like your playing i have a hard time getting over the shinedown or Nickleback connection.
now thats a badass board, great job Tim!
Hey Tim, how long is your cable run from head to cab and how do you keep your tone from being affected?
