  • Episode 108 of ‘Cars, Shops & Collections’ we visit Dean the owner of this 1969 Dodge Charger! Dean bough his Charger in 1995 and has taken it from Bone Stock to an absolute BEAST!
Dean is the second owner of the Charger and he breaks down the work he has done and the magic he did under the hood… Including the 440 engine!
The Dodge Charger was released in 1966 to rival the Ford Mustang. The Gen 1 Charger (66-67) had lackluster sales compared to the Mustang… 35,000 Chargers sold compared to the one million plus Mustangs sold!
The release of the Gen 2 Charger (68-70) was the game changer for Dodge, and the 1969 Charger seems to be the collectors choice! It was a treat to get a bumper to bumper breakdown of Dean’s 1969 Charger!
👍 THANK YOU for watching ‘Cars, Shops & Collections!’ Each week we put the spotlight on unique cars and the people behind them!

Classic Dodge Chargers are great cars to own and drive. They are very easy to work on and have some of the best styling.

Man I remember that My brother in law had a 1968 Dodge Charger. It was blue, had the 383 and a wide spaced 4 speed manual transmission, the interior was white, front buckets. He got rid of it in 1974. Because it was a western NY vehicle, it had a lot of body rot, but from what I understood mechanical all that was needed was a carb rebuild. I would've loved to have gotten ahold of it back then. Hopefully I'll be getting the T-shirt from the giveaway tomorrow JC.

Same! And the fact that a General at Nellis Air Force base owned it prior adds to it!

G'day JC, love this Charger mate. From memory of watching the Mopar show GYC, when they were rebuilding a General Lee movie car, they found out In the Dukes of Hazzard TV show the General Lee was actually Corvette Red and in the movie with Jessica Simpson 😍 it was AMC orange. All because the type of cameras they were using at the time during filming both the TV show and then the movie. Either way they still look tough.
    Keep them coming brother.
Ps! When are we going to see JC's a #carshopsandcollections Down Under tour? I can hook you up.
    😎👍🇦🇺❤️🇺🇸

Dukes never used a 70. The money and effort to swap the front end to a 69 with different hood and fenders wasn't worth it to the crew. They only used 68 and 69. I've heard this directly from John Schneider myself.

Love the channel, but the Charger was a different class of car than the Mustang and never a competitor to the Mustang, albeit Charger blew it away in performance..Torino was the car closer to what Ford offered but more so the Mercury Cyclone was a competitor to the Charger not Cougar or Mustang!
Charger was mid size luxury muscle vs compact Mustang nor built to compete against the Mustang..Charger was a upscale car and priced way more than the low cost Mustang..
Dodge was even a upscale brand from Ford...Plymouth was the brand that competed against Ford&Chevrolet..Charger was a Oldsmobile,Buick,Mercury competitor..
Charger was a Bankers Hot Rod vs Mustang was a secretaries car,hey thats how they advertised them! But not even the same class of car...Charger was far superior.
