Yikes my trash service wanted $30 for mattress and $30 spring pickup, supposed to wrap it in plastic somehow! Guess I'll be picking springs out of my burn pile again.
I have been think of getting a new mattress but I have not been thinking about what to do with my old one. It will probably just make it to the dump because I am not very crafty/ My town also has a spring clean up good idea.
A lot of cities have a free pickup day. I ended up just buying from somewhere that could take my grungy old one. otherwise it was a $97 fee alone just to pick it up where i live 🤮

I’m always trying to be more eco friendly so thank you for the info!!
Find a dumpster at some huge apartment complex, or have a mattress company haul it away, thats the 2 ways I know so far. lol

side of the road works the best
It's unsightly and someone ultimately has to dispose of it. You were the owner, so do it responsibly.
