Really? You never hear this amazing song? :D The higher vocal is Lauri Ylönen (his band is The Rasmus - I recommand you old songs - "In the Shadows" or "Ten Black Roses"). And Ville Valo is frontman of HIM ("Join me in Death", "Gone with the Sin", "Killing Loneliness) or "Summer Wine" with Natalia Avelon. Love these guys, both of them!

Ville Valo. Aka the most glorious man to grace the stage and this entire planet. I just saw his solo show in Los Angeles. The second he hit the stage I believe that panties were evaporated. It was packed with gorgeous girls. Him is a fantastic band. Bam was straight in love with Ville.

Next Finnish band to check out, Sentenced. There is the mental image of Finland. I have not found any song by them with positive lyrics. I call them suicide metal. Killing Me Killing You could be a soft start. It is about failing relationship.

I love Lauri, the guy with the higher voice, and his band The Rasmus. Would love to see reactions to them. Their most popular/famous songs are from the albums Dead Letters 2003 (In the Shadows) and Hide from the sun 2005 (No Fear), but I love all their albums and their different sounds over the years. They've never had a definite sound but to me their core is melodic rock a la early 2000's. (just don't expect metal or very heavy)
Mmmm, so if you like the higher vocal with the grit then you might like their older songs on the already mentioned albums. He no longer sings with that grit so the voice is much softer. If you wanna try a newer song then one of my favs are called Rise. It really has elements of everything I love with this band.

I’ve also seen apocalyptica live doing their Metallica songs. Unbelievable. The crowd was the singer. To see skills like this that close was incredible. I saw that both shows.
James Hetfield had great reactions years ago in Jyrki (90s music program at maikkari) when Apocalyptica was new band and the first album had came out. He insisted to have the cd from the studio. He didn´t knew about the band even that it got quite big in very fast paste in Europe.

Lauri and Ville were a very important part of my teenage era.
Pronunciation:
"Lauri" sounds kinda like "dowry", but with an L, and the r has a bit of a roll to it.
"Ylönen" is a bit trickier - pronounce Y like the vowel-y sound in the word "few", Ö like the vowel-y sound in "herd", and E like the E in "Bell". L and N are like you'd expect.
"Ville" is like a spanish villa, but ends with an E like in "bell".
"Valo" is like "shalom", but replace "sh" with a hard V, and drop the m from the end.

This takes me back. I was a poor teenager that couldn't afford a 15 dollar album. My girlfriend at the time knew I was really into the Rasmus at the time and randomly decided to buy the CD for me. Time has flown since then, and things have changed so much.
