I am amazed at the way you work: Thoroughness, Accuracy, calmness, patience, and after all , you are working alone!. This must have been a product of long experience and passion for this kind of work. God bless you, I cant wait until I see the car completely done. I am sure it will be just like coming out of the factory. By the way, shot out to the person who is shooting and editing the video, great work.👏
It shocks me that you would even look at this old car, let alone set out to restore it. I have never seen that much rust damage in my life! Great work!
watching from London England very enjoyable watching your videos you put all your time and energy into this project with good eye to details is worth every second of watching a must to watch keep up the good work for us armchair/couch audiences
I’m so glad I found your videos. Every since I was a teen, I always wanted to do it. Now I’m old and know I won’t do it it’s great to see step by step how to do it. Thanks
I have to give you credit for the time and patience that you have in order to remove and replace parts on this car, the man hours have to be through the roof so I see that it is your love for the work that keeps you going and I admire your ethic keep up the good work 👍👌.
Awesome..👏👏 i was hoping u get to it . Kept checking for this.Hopefully we ll see it finished. Hate half way projects.i got my cellar conversion, tanking etc. I can’t get to it over a year.Everyday going down to look at it,im making myself sick so i finally make the for a start.! U finishing this project maybe the spark that i ve been waiting for.😂
Of all the people’s cars or Volkswagen you been working on the one I’m most excited about you finishing is the karmann ghia it’s always been my favorite type of car
G’day and greetings from Tasmania Australia 🇦🇺 terrific job especially considering the condition the car was in, good to see I really enjoyed watching it and look forward to the next instalment kind regards John
How would we say CT... crusty rusty xD It's been a long time since i commented but always a pleasure seing you to bring some love to old rusty cars. Keep going!:3
Oh my God, tons of rust! Easy to understand why the introduction of zinc - plated and aluminium bodies was a milestone in the history of the automobile!
nice work , i saw you made a stand for the body to move easily one thing i feel could injure you in the future is the lower middle flat pillar of the stand is a bit extended towards the rear maybe if you cut the extended part and polish the sharp edges on the remaining area it might save some ones feet from getting hurt . big fan of your work.
trick with seam sealer, keep the finger wet and the sealer doesn't stick to the finger & you get a nicer seam. learned that when I was sealing the bottom of doors in our bodyshop where I worked. Did the first one and one of the bodymen told me that & the other 3 went much better.
Man ive been watching this since the start, and even though initially i was like "why? just find a bit cleaner chassis!" now i can really see the vision come through. im curious, any chance of you getting that dent out of the rear fender? im starting to really enjoy the patina lol (im a painter and HATE patina) but i can see the vision ! are you going to clearcoat over the rust to preserve it? as for the windows are you going to have them sanded/polished? (did you know this was a thing?) any chance of you throwing a turbo EJ205 from a WRX in as a powerplant? lol (i know you have a rebuilt engine for this bug lol)
You are doing a great job. Especially considering how bad this one is. Well done. I would however brace it up better with cross bracing etc. Yes it gets in the way but hold thing in place.
Boom >1:15, CT hits the gas !! .... hey what's the deal with Sandusky OH ? Bring your bus there Columbus Day Weekend and take the Ferry to Kombi's on Kelley's Island.
I guess what we will see once the bodywork is finished is a "Franken - Beetle", consisting of an estimated 60% original body material and 30% stitched together. But it works!
Dude you do an excellant job and great videoing. Only critic I have is that when you do talk, you repeat yourself 3 and 4 times saying exact same thing. We understood the first time. Loving the build and man the motor is awesome! Going to be a beautiful ride
When you were extracting the rusted door hinge screws you should have used an open-end wrench on your square shafted screwdriver to turn the screw while you pushed in on it with your other hand on the screwdriver's handle. That's why they make square shafted screw drivers.
I personally don't like VW Beetles that much, but since you're doing a great job on that one, I'd get rid of all that surface rust and would give it a decent paint job!
so much rust...im not sure if the rest of the car worth to save...i admire ur patience and the focus on the goal...our first car (fathers) was a beattle older than that..(1958.)..was a beast...we gave it for recycle(1990) bcause the floor was very rusty... so much that u could step on the road lol...we should keep it and restore it as u did bcause it was in better contintion...except the floor all the rest parts were like new..anyway good job man im waiting for the painting video now...to see it finished and rdy for the road.
I think you need to look up the definition of "FULL BUILD" "COMPLETE PROCESS" and START TO FINISH. Wasted 4 hours and still haven't seen a full build or complete process. Your titles are very misleading. Won't be watching your channel again.
A ton of work and you do it all by yourself! That's what I like about these videos.
Saame!
Much appreciated! I enjoy the challenge. 👍

Hi CT
Now the work is finished. Are you going to get rid of all the rust?
All this work I hope he gives it a good paint job
1:48:43 What should I say: Perfect welding. Good luck CT
If you t shirt has something to do with the movie Tommy Boy , that's pretty cool
My honda element replacing the door latch was incredibly difficult. Finally just got a drill out.
That’s a tough one! Good job getting it done. 😎
well done. what was that light green stuff brushed on the passenger inside rear back seat? some anti rust stuff?
Is this the first 65 or the second one? They both are great projects!

about 10% of it is now original you must love that old VW to save it.

Back in the 80's when i walked into a vw parts store i saw both j tubes original with the heater core. 20 BUCKS for the pair
That fuzz you find is Horsehair they used it in the seats and any padding in the interior. Yes I have studied those vehicles😂
Try brushing the primer on, gets in easy, thicker and no mask to wear
hiya ct wot hapend to the van rusty
Are you keeping the outside patina or painting it its original white color?
Keeping the patina for now. I'm looking for one with less rust to paint.
@ are you planning on keeping this car or selling it?
Hi Ct
Are you going to put Primer on it And repaint please?
