That is a 1977-79 Mercury Cougar. They are beautiful cars. They share 75% of the parts with my 1977 Thunderbird. They are an underrated car and they drive so nice. They also make a great race car. That front end is 6 feet long on these cars, and they are based on the 1972-76 Ford Torino chassis.
@@CowboyCarCrushing and the ride is Heavenly. I would take my daughter to school in my Thunderbird and all of her classmates would take pictures of the car. That one looks like a real keeper.
poor Lincoln Towncar, i had the exact same one, color and all till it met it's fate one December day on black ice and i wrapped it around a tree going 50 mph, thank GOD it was the passenger side of the car. I really miss that car. I was averaging 28 mpg for being a V8
me too i miss that car, air suspension still worked so going over speed bumps you never felt them. I'm in the market for another 1994 White Lincoln Towncar with no rust on it.
I believe what you say about the Mercury cougar (first car) being done for structurally, but with some spit & polish it could have been a good parts car.
Hey Cowboy, if you ever find a 1967 Ford Mustang 2dr. Coupe in some what good shape I would love to know. I saw the video with all the Mustangs in it but didn't see any there. I live in Fl. but I'll come get it. Thanks Brother
Howdy Howdy cowboy in the wood lol.😂 some shunting in the wood lol need to have good eyes in there mate. Lol snakes I hate snakes. They used to take a portable car crusher in up here in the Highlands but they bought one when the yard was busy so they just do them now themselves after i rip of all the good parts.
What I like about the country is many fields to go through city I like when the night comes & city lights turn on I love that in New York & 1 famous landmark lights up in many colors

Haha next video there's 3 Cadillacs right off the bat! At least they're gonna get pancaked by Thee Cowboy! Thanks for thinking about me! Rock on brother!
I woulda blown a head gasket if they didn’t save that cougar. That’s an awesome car. And looks like it’s Easily restorable. Prob a 351 Cleveland. Great motor.
Is this a back woods parts yard? Must be nice to get out of town. Did they at least give you breakfast? Have to get good with the forks and use them to carve names for shout outs.
you should really think of keeping some of those they could've been restored if they weren't in an accident, some looked fine to restore. but not knowing prices over there might not be viable
@@CowboyCarCrushing it was probably well past due to be crushed. I'm more passionate about one more piece of a era being snuffed out. Your earning your $ I know that you have to do the do. But every day those relics become fewer and fewer. I hope you understand.

How does someone end up with a field full of cars anyway? Most of these looked like they were not too bad a shape when they got there, it looks like sitting in the field for 20 plus years did far more damage than whatever got the cars off the road in the first place..
ill be mad if dent my cougar with that fork be careful my cougar if put dent that cougar you going pay for the damage ill going check it no damage on it ok have good day don't mess man car
all those cars ill don't see them in NewYork they are gone those are rare over here see once and gone next day lot of cars get stolen or get junk it old people want new cars

@@CowboyCarCrushing how far will you go to crush cars and how many i need to have before you come
That mercury was still decent body and top wise. Smart on the pre-digging.
My momma didn't raise no fools
That Cougar looks like the one my mom had when I was born! Her’s was a 1979, solid black.
Does those look like factory wheels on these one? I think they are
@@CowboyCarCrushing those are factory wheels.
@@CowboyCarCrushing OEM wheels, yes. They were often color keyed to various parts of the car (such as the interior, roof, or molding).
That I believe a 1978Mercury Cougar XR7 , they had I believe the big 460 cid engine. Our neighbor bought 1 bran new, back then. Same exact color.
The hydraulic mechanism and so on sounds like some sort of a dinosaur. Your camera angle helps that image also. Great fun
It's a Beast for sure

Very solid car dont crush it damn
We have picked black berries out of a briers. You pick auto of the bushes. Kind of hunt and seek. If you find Easter eggs, can you pick em up.

This place is so far out you can't see the city lights
The same goes when you're out in the country in New York Upstate in the country does not have a lot of lights
I'm always surprised to see any pickup truck crushed.
Why? Old trucks are death traps and they are typically ran hard for decades.
77-78 Cougar. I had a 76 back in the day
"Back in the Day" 👍😄
76 was a different body styl5

crazy if you found a body or bones in the trunk of one of those abandoned cars! :O

We will find ya one
So do you take the catalytic converters out and the batteries and aluminum rims befor you sent them out
I love that cougar.
Is this an estate type situation, or did someone just decide to clear out the cars (finally apparently lol)
Some of those cars are still good
A few

I woulda blown a head gasket if they didn’t save that cougar. That’s an awesome car. And looks like it’s Easily restorable. Prob a 351 Cleveland. Great motor.
Sorry i wish i had the time to check it out more
More than likely a 351W VIN "H" two barrel as the Cleveland was technically last used in a passenger in 1974 from what I remember.
Phew, that was me ya heard with the sigh of relief lol
First thing they said was everything is crushing. Last minute pardon on that one

Something like that

This was just a collection point.
Whats the story on that collection of cars? Was it just a collection or junk yard? 🚗
Sigh of relief when that car got spared the only one I have not wanted to see get crushed
