My favorite Fenders have always been partscasters, being able to mix & match certain elements to create the whole is what Leo was all about...

That is a great "take for the most part," Chris. It's modeled on the '58 with freshly developed and roasted pepper seasoning in the tone and looks. 👏

Love the sound of those pickups and that neck is beautiful!

I have a very similar 58 CS (but chocolate sunburst) with the Fat 50s and it's the most beautiful Strat I've ever seen. The "soft-V" is a misnomer for sure. It's nothing like the soft-v on my Claptons. And I hate the vintage truss rod adjustment! I don't care if it's vintage, it's a pain in the butt.

Love the guitar! Also I would like Cooper to do a teaching video or at least make tabs of his riffs available.

Bloody brilliant pickup tones… and playing, Cooper. Superb stuff!👍 And a really interesting post-play discussion, too.

Great sounding Strat guys, although this really isn’t a very ‘fair’ demonstration because Cooper can take a $50.00 dollar Chibson and make it sound good too LOL!
I dig the channel guys, thanks for all the cool content 🤙

Great review as ever . I'm looking at trading a les Paul on one of these ( 3 tone chocolate burst, flame neck et al ) . We'll see , but if a demo was going to sell a guitar, this was it ! Fingers crossed it turns out as good as this . Thanks .

Mike Campbell has an incredibly sick 50s Strat a lot like this one, but in a darker Forrest green

I’d always heard the guitar is where the serial number is. If the serial number on the neck then the neck is the guitar. Gets kind of tough when the serial number is on the rear neck joint plate…

I agree with modern custom shop instruments are better than vintage ones but it seems like so many world class musicians such as Sting for example.. prefers vintage… and the list goes on and on… main point might be the wood even though we’re talking about electric instruments

At 8:44 of video time, where is that riff from?
Can't place it, put I've heard it before>

OMG 😲 It looks like they drilled the neck plate crooked….

Interesting point of discussion. Personally, if I ever went the custom shop route (spoiler: I won't), it would be to build my own unique, dream guitar. Given I see the Am Pro IIs as perfectly good enough for me and with the Ultra Luxes even above that, you can see why I think I'd never need a CS guitar.

Without a question modern built guitars are better than historic guitars. Vintage guitars don't cost thousands of dollars because they're better instruments, they cost that much because people care about the history (for better or worse).
My dad is retiring and just bought his first guitar, and it costs more than my entire collection combined. It didn't matter to him that a different name on the headstock would mean a 90% discount. What mattered was the history associated with that make/model.
Personally I believe the reliance on that nostalgia is (edit: one of several contributing factors) why this particular company is bankrupt and will likely be gone in the next few years, but that's a rant for a different comment section

Could not tell the difference. There's a 2nd hand American original in my local shop for less than half the price of a used custom shop strat. No Brainer.
