to all the french people who complain about his accent, i would say that you should thank's him for promoting our beautiful language.
There are several components to speaking French easily . One plan I discovered which succeeds in merging these is the Magic language method (look for it on google) without a doubt the best remedy that I've found. Look at the amazing information .
There are a few things for how to learn French
Decide exactly why you wish to learn it
Try to use French in your everyday life
Find which method works for you the best.

But this guy is making no effort at all to speak the language. I have been in beginner classes where people that never heard French before could speak better than this after thirty minutes of class.That tells me he never even listened to one French person say these words. It seems like he just read the words--out of a guidebook maybe--and then he made some wild guess about how to pronounce them. Hmmm I'm thinking that is all this guy does. He reads a few things out a a guidebook to make each of his videos: "9 reasons you got robbed while traveling." Oh here they are in chapter three of my guidebook. I'll just ready them and I'll have another low quality click bait video! What a racket!

they are not complaining, they are trying to help him to improve his accent. French people will never says that something is good if they think the contrary. To you it might be rude, but to french people, being sincere is a way to be polite. Hiding your real thoughts is perceived as hypocrisis.
yeah, my pronunciation is not good, but I just wanted to get a few basic phrases out to help tourists because even if you can just speak a little French it makes france even better to visit.

I just come back from Paris. I can feel French People really feel proud of their country, culture, and language.
I think it will denifitely be cool to speak some French when visiting France. People there will appreciate that for sure.
Had a chance to look at this particular video just prior to a trip to Paris.... and then got inspired to learn more French after the grip..... all of these phrases were vital to know! We got French Lessons from Uber Drivers and Waistaff every day.... all of them were kind and helpful. Your phrases here, all 100% good to know!

Hi, I'm an American who's been living in France for over 25 years. First of all, bravo -in general- for your videos on Paris and France. The ones I've seen so far convey very good, useful and true information. That said, I have to take exception with the present video .. Please don't take this wrong, but as a constructive comment to help those who depend upon your help -and of course, it's just my opinion: Your accent -while charming- contains far too many faults to be useful as a "first lesson" to beginners .. (for example, "wine" in French, is pronounced closer to "van" than "von"). I think that your video is more helpful to those who already speak a bit of French as a reminder of WHAT to say . . . but not really HOW to say it.
And a second, important point: One absolutely does NOT say "Salut" (instead of "Bonjour") to a person they don't know, such as a salesperson in a shop. "Salut" is reserved for family members, friends or co-workers.
Sorry if this comes across as being too frank. I hope you receive it in the positive spirit in which it's intended. Keep up the good work!
Good tips! I hear that a lot of people (specifcally in Paris) get somewhat offended when you don't have a very good accent. Is this true?

naw, I don't think Parisians are offended by a bad accent ... on the contrary, they would probably appreciate any effort .. and, nowaways, more and more Parisians speak some English, so rather than suffer through hearing a tourist's bad accent -or in a genuine spirit of actually trying to help you out because they might think, because of your bad accent, that YOU are the one suffering- they might actually try speaking English with you (especially younger, internet savvy French people who have been exposed to lots of English). Any by the way, "gare" (train station) is pronounced, "GAHR", not GAH. And your son has a GREAT accent!// Cheers!
@TheRenaissanceman65 How can someone get offended when people don't speak their language, then turn around and get offended when they make an effort to learn it? Or are they supposed to go from beginner to perfect fluency before actually talking to anyone?
I really like your videos keep it up buddy (as a french canadian, I can tell you that you've got a pretty good vocabulary for a beginner, at least to show around that you've made an effort in order to show respect to their culture)

Good job! This is for people who would otherwise not have any words to say in French. Definitely better than nothing. Going to another country can be very intimidating, so it's helpful to make people more comfortable. I've never met a French person who put someone down for their bad pronunciation, when they tried to speak French on vacation. Sure, they may laugh when you've passed by, but they'll appreciate the effort.

Of course if you are over 20 and learning a language you will never be accent free and that is OK, it is about trying and using your language knowledge to get to know the people and culture better. merci for the support!

A warm "hello" and "thank you" are perfectly ok. Don't cancel your flight because you can't say "s'il vous plait"

Thanks again for this video, as I told you in the previous video, I'm french and your accent is very nice to hear. Remember at reading the french words in this video that usually, ending consonants in french aren't pronounced, e.g. we don't pronounce the plurals visible by the ending -s or some others consonants.
Also, usually french people understand the very basic english like : Yes/No, Okay, Hello/Hi, (Good)Bye, I don't understand, I speak English/I don't speak French, Thanks you, I'm lost, I'm late.. and kind of other basic phrases.
So keep in your minds that if you can't remember the phrases given in the video you can use your basic english and people should understand you - but try to not use tranlating apps which usually translate to a terrible french often impossible to understand. :) Cheers
I have tried using Yandex and Google to translate text into Russian. I have found Yandex better, but I admit it is still not a perfect substitute for knowing the grammar of the Slavic language. My French is so much better, although I admit it will take me awhile to get my Russian-speaking ability up to where my French-speaking ability is (without using online translators).
I know that people are bashing the pronunciations, but it doesn't have to be perfect. Tourists will rarely be fluent in French. That being said, I am definitely glad that I found this. Next summer I am going to spend 5 weeks doing an internship in Marseille, France. This is a great place to start. I'm definitly going to save this video and check out some of your others.
Keep searching youtube. There are hundreds of videos you could watch on youtube with correct pronunciation of the same words. The advice is good in a way. In French culture it is super rude if you don't say bonjour when you meet someone; so learning even this one word will help a whole lot. But, why not use a video made by someone that actually know how to pronounce the word?
I just typed bonjour into the youtube search box and came up with a couple of good ones:
(1) This one is good for an easy lesson:

(2) If you want spend a few more minutes to pronounce the words correctly use this one. It is less than four minutes long and you will be able to pronounce the words perfectly if you pay attention to the whole video. This lady even explains where to put your tongue to make the correct sound for each letter.

Here's is something for you to learn in French. "To do an internship" is "faire un stage." So "je vais aller à Marseille et je vais faire un stage." "To" a city is always "à." Saying "to" a country takes a whole youtube lesson on it's own; so just say "à Marseille." For pronunciation just paste that whole phrase into google translate; make sure French is selected for the language; press the speaker button and the robot voice will say it correctly. There are other ways to say "I will go" but this form of future tense is really easy for beginners like us. Use "Je vais" and the infinitive form of the verb. Keep talking this way and you only have one verb to conjugate--"to go" in present tense. Vous allez vous bien amusé à Marseille. (I'm calling you "vous" because I don't know you but that's another lesson as well.)

This is very helpful in terms of useful phrases (I'm heading to France for the first time at the end of this month for a few days in Paris and have been learning in prep). Just a few notes on pronunciation that I know from listening to native speakers: "Billets" is pronounced like "bi-yay" (the double 'll' is pronounced like 'y'). And 'r' is often a phlegmy 'h' sound. A lot of 'a' sounds more like 'o' such as "chambre" is "shombre". "Je" is "zhah" whereas "j'ai" is "zhay". XD

+Randi Dash Don't worry too much. In Paris you won't have any problem finding someone who speaks English. That's very true in hotels, restaurants, museums and other touristic places. After a couple of days, you will learn how to decode signage and even read menus in restaurants. Just relax and that will come quickly.

Yes you must ask for the bill when at a restaurant. It's not because the service is worse than ours, but because their customs are different. Different does not automatically mean poor.

I misspelled that phrase while entering it in Google Translate. So I got "Kidney". So I learned that "de rien = your welcome" and "de rein= kidney".
Since it's been a few years since I took French in school, I did learn a few phrases slightly different than how you said them, but they have the same jist of things. Like I learned for Ca va, I learned how to say it 'sa va' and you said it 'se va'

Hello, just found your video on help with some basic french words. I need a little help with pronunciating: bainwhen I hear it I am not cleary understanding. Im going to spell it as I hear it: I hear it as: bon, bone, bocould you possible spelling an english wording for me so I can properly pronounce. thank you.
You can replace "de rien" by "Je vous en prie" in case you'd want to be formal.
