  • For 100 years, St. Charles College in Grand Coteau, La., has been the novitiate for entering Jesuits of the New Orleans Province. Now in its second century of service, St. Charles College not only provides a home for the novices of both the New Orleans and Missouri Provinces but for lay retreatants and Jesuits in retirement. A three-year plan to renovate St. Charles College began in the Spring of 2011 to take it into its next century of service.

When I was in the Jesuits, we spent a lot of time learning about and practising detachment: not being 'attached' to particular things or places or people.

Hey Martin. I live around 15 minutes from there. St. John Berchmans reportedly appeared to a young nun at the nearby Academy of the Sacred Heart and healed her. It was the second miracle that was required for his canonization.
