Just want to say I appreciated this as a patron who had no brain space for cooking up a Q!

In your answer to the last question about your latest favorites for pure pleasure, you mention enjoying peaty scotches! Which makes me wonder what you think of peaty whiskies that are also sherried.
I know these two are reviewed all over the place, but I would love to know what your own particular take is on Ardbeg Uigeadail and Lagavulin 16.
I really liked your great reviews of Benromach whiskies that combine peat and sherry, and they led me to order the 10 and the Cask Strength, both of which feature some peat, some sherry, and some amazing Benromach-ness!
And a recommendation for you: I think you might enjoy exploring an ultimate fine dram of sherried Ballechin! It's in the peat monster meets sherry bomb category, with a nice richness and old-school-ness.

Funny you mention that Ballechin... 👀
In general I think the quality of sherried peaters has improved over the last decade and change, a lot of that having to do with the quality of sherry casks. We might not be back to the paxarette days, but there's at least a lot less sulphur around!! Not that I always hate sulphur - I do think a touch can play well with many Speyside distillates, for example - but I don't think it gets along well with peat. Ergo, with cleaner sherry casks all around, better sherried peaters. That said, I do think particular bottlings aren't quite what they were: I detect basically no sherry at all in Laggy 16 nowadays, which is a bit sad, and Uigeadail seems younger and rawer. But those, I would think, are cases of stocks just being stretched farther.

By the way, I'm intrigued by the eyeballs emoji. I'm not sure whether this means that maybe you were on the afish selection committee for that one, or whether this means that maybe a review is on the way... Either one would be cool! And speaking of Ballechin, I always wonder what you think of Edradour... Anyway, thanks for the great channel. Your first Q&A session was a great one!

Ha! I'll put it on the list. I do have others, but I'm getting old and often I just want to put Sabbath IV on again. 😅
