Thank you so much for repairing my console Luke. Really appreciate it. The seller told me it turned on then off. I appreciate you repairing it.

please complete your "Diagnostics & Repair Course' by adding a video showing how to inject electricity to troubleshoot (when to do it, how, how to know where to inject or not, what voltage/current, for what reason...)

Happy Sunday Luke. Nice Vid, good knowledge on the linking pin 33 and 31, don't think I'll do that on mine just in case it turns on through a faulty ribbon or rogue button press as i store it screen down with batteries in. Lynx also suffer from dc input socket failure which causes power on off issues. If using a dc adapter always check the socket as the plastic corrodes, by the way a new clean screen for the lynx is overdue...world's first oled lynx mod ;) you know you want to.

Good to know. I bet the DC Jack isolates the ground path like on many retro consoles so if dirty the spring inside disconnects power

@@RetroSix and the hot melt glue on either side tends to crack the dc socket case over the years...don't ignore my oled lynx screen comment now will you.

Thank you so much or this troubleshooting of the Atari Lynx I just sourced one and am considering fault finding why it wont play or read games with low sound.

Bench power and shorting TP17 and 18 is best place to start as you will see power draw. If no bench then connect screen and short 33/31 and look for insert game

I have a atari lynx of the same model i looked inside it everything seemed to be fine but the white ribbon cable from the tip of where you plug it in is a little worn. Whats weird is that sometimes it turns on but most of the time it doesnt.

Yep replace that ribbon we sell it, or use scissors to snip off 1mm of the worn end sometimes works
