  • Mobility Hubs in Affordable Housing: Betty Ann Gardens
With backing from the California Air Resources Board, TransForm has teamed up with the Metropolitan Transportation Commission to introduce electric vehicle (EV) car sharing, EV charging stations, and other clean transportation alternatives to three affordable housing communities in Oakland, Richmond, and San Jose. Each mobility hub is crafted based on the residents' requirements to ensure they are tailored to each community's mix of services.
At Betty Ann Gardens, affordable housing in San Jose, California, organizers, residents, representatives, and the public attended the opening of a new mobility hub. The hub includes electric vehicles and chargers that can be shared by community residents, discounted transit programs, access to a secure bike storage room, bike giveaways, and credits for the Lyft Essential Rides program to travel to essential services such as grocery stores and medical care.
