- Опубліковано 2 жов 2024
- This presentation was delivered online on November 11th, 2020 to the Wilton Justice Group who are based in County Cork, Ireland.
John Moriarty was a philosopher and writer from Listowel, County Kerry. His work touched on myth, spirituality, ecology, mankind's disconnection from nature and from our past, among many other subjects.
This talk presents the key biographical details of Moriarty's life, and then explores, in the context of the climate emergency, how humans 'shape the earth to suit themselves', a recurrent theme in Moriarty's work.
The presentation included a discussion session afterward. Questions and comments are still very welcome, and can be sent to innerchaptermusic@gmail.com.

Thanks Neilus, always good to hear from people who are engaging with John's thought. I recently posted a video on this channel which references his time spent in Conemara.
Thanks for posting this. I'm a huge fan of John's work and sort of think the world would benefit greatly from more people hearing about him.
Would you consider making more videos on him as you get through more of his material? I'd definitely appreciate that.
Hi Francis, thanks for your feedback. Yes I have since given another talk on Moriarty on similar themes, it should be posted here within the next week.
