We had a squirrel about 2 years named Benny that we raised from a baby and eventually he bit me. It was just time for him to go, but we couldn’t seem to find the right time to get him used to being outside, so he got a bit wild. When i went to the doctor, they said rabies test wasn’t necessary because chances he had rabies was super slim because we got him so young. We released him the next day, and now he lives in our backyard. Our cat watches him out the window.

I was injured in a car accident and had to stop working and now I look after my 83 year old mom and we’re both on a fixed income. My brother unfortunately lost my mom’s house bcuz she co-signed for my brother’s house and he defaulted so the bank took it. It was supposed to go to me, but now we pay $2100/month on rent instead of next to nothing bcuz the house was almost fully paid off. So I fully know what you’re going through, but like you said no matter what we may be dealing with you can’t help but feel for others who are also hurting. We had a squirrel about 2 years named Benny that we raised from a baby and eventually he bit me. It was just time for him to go, but we couldn’t seem to find the right time to get him used to being outside, so he got a bit wild. When i went to the doctor, they said rabies test wasn’t necessary because chances he had rabies was super slim because we got him so young. We released him the next day, and now he lives in our backyard. Our cat watches him out the window.

This is so messed up. Why would they do this? A squirrel and a raccoon lose their life for absolutely nothing. I just signed the petition to get them home and then I saw this. Who would complain about someone rescuing a squirrel whose mother was hit by a car? I’m disgusted by this whole incident and I burst into tears when I read about it earlier today and I’m crying again now. I don’t know what to say but I hope Peanut and his raccoon buddy don’t die in vain. I’m so so sorry for your loss.

I am crying too. We are in an intense situation where we could lose our home, but, as hopeless as it is we are struggling for our pets. I don't think that I could handle this as gracefully as they are. Poor Peanut. We just watched out our window two squirrels do that fluffy tail dance off from two trees like they do. Sending what little vibes we have left.
Do they live in a house in the city or apartment, or suburbs. It sounds like someone in the neighborhood don’t like them, so they made a report. New York is one of those states that have a ton of red flag laws, hot lines to call and make reports. Don’t matter if the report is false, they’ll come in and do this. But yet have people in the same state, have wild crazy dogs, run amok and attack people and nothing done. Till someone get badly hurt. Sad situation. Glad I move away from those liberal cities 30 years ago.

I was injured in a car accident and had to stop working and now I look after my 83 year old mom and we’re both on a fixed income. My brother unfortunately lost my mom’s house bcuz she co-signed for my brother’s house and he defaulted so the bank took it. It was supposed to go to me, but now we pay $2100/month on rent instead of next to nothing bcuz the house was almost fully paid off. So I fully know what you’re going through, but like you said no matter what we may be dealing with you can’t help but feel for others who are also hurting. What they did to Peanut and the raccoon was completely unnecessary and so cruel. They were probably so scared. I hope they can keep their nonprofit going through all of this. I really hope you don’t lose your house and things turn around for you. Nobody deserves to live with stress day after day.
