- The Secret Life of PD: we don’t always remember how our first symptom felt, but when new symptoms occur, we are reminded…again, and again, and again. We might look like we are put together, but each of us, optimistic or not, will have our bad days. In this episode, I share mine with Melissa.
Thank you Jessica and Melissa, you are two lovely, uplifting ladies! I was diagnosed two years ago at grand age of 60 (!) but had symptoms well before that. I don’t know if it is worth discussing what to avoid with PD. My personal life has been stressful, a ‘bad marriage’ now behind me. What I’m trying to say is, if anyone out there is living every day with difficult people, giving you sleepless nights etc, it will take a toll on your health/ nervous system. You have a good husband Jessica, mine made fun of my hand tremor which got worse with his temper. So my number one tip of things to avoid is anything or anyone causing regular stress. I’m in a happy place now girls, finding people like you! Well done from N Ireland.
Thank you for your kind words and sharing your story! Blessings to you and moving forward! You can do hard things!
It’s been 4 yrs for me too as a young onset pt. I love the candidness of this show and learned so much.
Thank you, Jessica. I love your podcasts.
Yea! Great session. Keep it up.
I really enjoy your show but it’s not long enough. You present so much good information in too short of time. Thanks
You are by far the most beautiful woman on UA-cam, in my opinion. I wish you and your family well.
Melissa and Jess the Dynamic Duo :) Good to see you both! I wanted to check in on Brian too...everything good in his world? I have had my DBS Surgery finally, was pushed out 3-4 weeks. This is week 2, get the staples out on Valentines Day....The Mrs and I are going to make a Date out of it, have some fun lol. Programming is the 2nd of March, crossing my fingers! I was told to take it easy for the last little bit but the Dr says I can finally do light workouts..starting next week.. I finally get singed up for PD Next Steps and I have been on a hiatus haha. Thanks for the Show as usual! I have an idea for your kit too. Take care ladies, 💜Keep on keeping on!
Chris! Keep us posted on your progress! Brian is good - he was doing a clinical trial with DBS!
@@melissacarlson1963 It's definitely been a ride! Everything has been Great up to this point. My first programming session was yesterday, Amazing!
I love your show! It's hard to explain to folks just what we go through. I had the exact pain thinking I had slept with my arm hanging over the edge of the bed, but I hadn't. It was just a new symptom, and I just have to realize that's what it is. Thank you for your openness! I am a young onset patient and recently had DBS surgery.
Thank you for watching!
Thank you. I watch all of your videos. You are a great soul doing great work From UK
Dry Needling will help you with some of the pain and cramping in the elbow.
Jessica, you spoke of your elbow pain. I'm pre-motor but the one thing that can bother me is pain in my elbows. I've mentioned it to various doctors but they have no response. The pain can start while swinging my arms while walking. The pain builds to the point that I have to stop walking, sit and let the pain pass. I would like to learn more abour your elbow pain. John
I want to learn more too. So far, no one has been able to explain it except that it's just a part of PD
I just found out I have it and it's a Rollercoaster
Sorry to hear it. But you are not alone! Be sure to reach out in your community to find others! Its amazing how much it helps the journey! and exercise!!!
@The Secret Life of Parkinson's I'm going to the gym now but haven't found any groups around here yet, thank you.
As time goes on? Do you and your husband still have companionship.
