So lovely to see Grace and Cecilia as I remember them as little girls! What a grace and blessing for all that you selflessly decided to commit your lives as lay volunteers as Oblates. Sister Ulrica's grandparents are patriarch and matriarch of SGG and knew Bishop Dolan when he was a young man when he still had brown hair and taught Sunday catechism at their chapel. And her mother has practically been an SGG oblate *of sorts* for decades with her tireless work for the SGG priests sewing antependiums, altar cloths, and the handiwork is flawless, mending, ironing altar linens etc., flowers, and used to be in charge of recording the sermons onto tape cassettes back in the day. And Sister Eulalia's father leading the men's choir. And all parents and siblings closely involved and helping at the chapel. I totally understood everything the Sisters explained regarding living as best they can the vows of chastity, obedience and poverty even though they are not bound to do so. And yes that makes sense to remain as Oblates that serve the priests *fulltime* . For example, the schedule of the Sisters of Saint Thomas Aquinas in Florida and the stages to become a professed religious Sister with perpetual vows all have differing practices, duties, activities, for each stage, so if these two sweet Sisters Eulalia and Ulrica did the same at SGG they would therefore not be able to help the priests *fulltime* and at a moment's notice to run to the store or other needed errands, especially only being the two of them, as is *their* decision, prayed over, and we can see their joy beaming from their faces and speech. Everyone who lives closely in the "parish" life so to speak knows that even with hundreds of parishioners only a handful ever really help out regularly...it is unfortunate but that's a universal thing for most trad chapels. Many reasons often it is location living a distance away. I was the sacristan and assistant sacristan at SGG and helped out Bp. Dolan and Fr. Cekada +RIP+, so I can closely relate to the workload required and the joy you Sisters feel to station yourselves at SGG, but with no formal binding commitments. Your habits are smart and functional, and your addition of the veils is practical and a good reminder of your chosen vocation that allows others to recognise the distinction of your labours and service to God. God bless you Sisters Eulalia and Ulrica, and your wonderful parents, our dear friends.
I agree! It would be terrible to leave out Bishop Sanborn and his bishops, priests and Sisters, the priests of the IMBC and Fr. Rafał Trytek who are all THE BEST TOO. Truly. They have taken great care of us, and our baptised baby Marie who passed away, for the last 11 years in Europe. They are all THE BEST OF THE BEST. Especially Fr. Cekada, Bishop Dolan and Fr. Guépin +RIP+.
