Hands-on review of the NEW Hamilton Khaki Field Automatic Expedition 37mm and 41mm.
This could be the best affordable luxury watch of 2023, a definite rival of the Tudor BlackBay 58 and BlackBay 54. - Навчання та стиль
Lots of waffling and non-watch stuff in this one I know, but Canada was too sexy not to share!
Really enjoyed that part tbh! Great video
Extreme nice pictures from Canada! Very cool video!
Keen for more waffling and non watch stuff if it's this high quality mate. Great stuff. Can't wait to visit Canada. I was thinking in the intro...when did Scotland become this epic?!? 😅
Is that not what we all come back here for though? If it was just about the watch details we'd all just watch Tim Mosso on repeat.
Banff is beautiful, and a wonderful place to visit; but no one in their right mind would consider moving to Canada after the last 4 years. Canada's government is thoroughly broken.
Love these "watch talk while hiking" videos. Really helps seeing the watch out in the environment it's likely be used in. Just received my Bark & Jack gray ribbed nato today too! 😍
More likely to be seen behind a desk I think. We need some fluorescent lighting shots. 😂
@@jackiemoon_lms 😅all future videos to be done above a keyboard "and here's how it looks reaching for your coffee" "ooooooh"
@@codycrotty6794 let’s make sure to use the bezel though to point towards your cubical in case you get lost in the office too
great cinematography as usual, it was a pleasure to watch your review. Thanks for the hard work and craftsmanship you bring us.
Love the shots of Banff! Absolutely beautiful! As a Canadian, I really must make a point to get out there and see this national treasure in the near future. It's definitely on my to do list.
As a Hamilton fan (I have four watches from them) yes, I do love this new addition to the Khaki family, it does look absolutely fabulous on the nato straps (especially yours, Adrian) and yes, I do wholeheartedly support your point about the clasp, it would be a much needed improvement. Stunning video, exceptional content, as always. Still waiting for Bark and Jack to ship to my country (Romania), my Khakis would love some proper nato strap love.
I think this is a stunner! (& for the bezel haters, you can still put ‘N’ on the minute hand and track how long it took for the waiter to bring your beer.)
Your brilliant vlog style content is some of the most enjoyable ways of spending time I know of! Keep it up, Adrian!!
Incredible video! Love the combination of location, story, and watch breakdown
When I saw the first photos I absolutely loved it. Then tried it on the same day and the love continues. Great that they release two reasonable sizes right away.
Unfortunately my wishlist is long already but this is 100% on that list! Good job hamilton!
Amazed to see the two of you in Banff, cheers from Calgary!
Following for a long time. Loving the new type of content. Photography is just. beautiful.
glad you had a great time in a great country! keep up the awesome content. Greetings from Toronto, Canada
I think I have watched the video about 10 times by now. More to come. Thanks, Adrian.
Really love when you make these types of videos. breathes a lot of life into the watch hobby as a whole.
Great video again Adrian! Been following you since the beginning, seing your evolution is amazing!
My man, you killed this. Can’t wait for the next one!!
Thanks for helping with the capture man! Editing this one was a pain in the a$$. So many cameras, so many techniques, and so much colour grading.... epic trip though.
Really enjoyed this video, fantastic edit and beautiful videography. In addition an open and honest review and thoughts on the watch
Really cool seeing you guys explore my province! Keep up the great content
Yay Adrian welcome to our beautiful country thank you for capturing and sharing some of the beautiful backdrop crack on
Bro, thank you for showing me that stunning sunrise!!
And the watch is pretty nice too. Hamilton is killin it in the past 2-3 years
Love the style of the video! Nice balanced review
Love the watch and the scenery, been to Banff multiple times but never have seen the sun rise. Thank you.
Congrats on a great video, awesome photography and production quality. Love the shots of Canada
Great insights on the watch. Non tapered bracelets is a bug bear.
I hope they do a GMT version of this with 24hr rather than compass bezel. That + tapered bracelet (or Bark & Jack NATO!) would for me make this a preferred choice to a Tudor (not personally a Tudor fan) and also an amazing value alternate to an Explorer 2
I like Hamilton’s dial design.
Great video. Thank you for sharing
Keep doing, what you are doing. Great stuff Adrian.
Watch,location,style,all great.👍
I adore the travel content it’s so beautifully filmed
Canada lovely, excellent camera / editing work. Comments on bracelet spot on and bringing attention to the Nato loving case design was great. More brands should do this.
Loved the video! And the watch. Great shots of both.
Great review and the location of course! I think Hamilton has a real winner on their hands here and as an owner of 2 Khaki Field Mechanicals, I look forward to adding this to the collection. I will say, I can see them making a titanium version at some point and that gets me most excited, even though I would buy the steel version if not.
Incredible footage and a nice review too!
This video is spectacular welcome to Canada! Absolutely mesmerizing videography and story telling.
Love it, can't wait to get my hands on new addition to my collection , I have 5 pieces in my collection and I love them all.great content as always Viva watch making all way from St George...
What a brilliantly put together and edited video, the B roll shots of the Canadian wilderness were amazing
Loved this video Adrian, great work mate
I love the white dial. I wouldn’t get a khaki mechanical because I don’t like how flat it wears but damn is this perfect! Definitely gonna do some major thinking about it. Personally would go for the 41mm just off the dimensions alone.
great looking watch, solid pricing. Great value. I really think I'm going to need one for Christmas. I have been wanting to add a Hamilton to the collection and this is it for me.
Welcome to Canada Adrian. I am in Ontario hoping one day to get out to Banff. Thanks for the review, a beautiful watch. On my radar! Best!
Very cool - welcome to Alberta! Living in Calgary we spend a lot of weekends the Rockies. Nice vid.
Great review as always Adrian.
Great video, the cinematography is epic!!
I think this is a cool release, and I love the sizes they've chosen. I wholeheartedly agree on the taper needing to be a bit strong. Thanks for pointing out how the case has been designed to help with straps. As a purveyor of straps, that probably stood out to you, but you're the only resource I've seen bring it up. I get a bit of a late '90s/early 2000s vibe in the design. Since we've had a couple decades distance, the kids are into Y2K stuff, and neo-vintage seems to be on the upswing, it's perfect timing. I do wish the white numerals on the black dial model were also lumed. That would have been a nice touch. I definitely would love to see a quick adjust clasp. They're getting more ubiquitous and a company in the Swatch group has the engineering/production resources to make the additional production cost on a $1K retail watch negligible. That and the taper would have made it an instant classic. Over the top lume would have just been icing on the cake. It's a solid watch overall though.
Beautiful watch and great review but the footage from Banff is just stunning 👏 you have to share more of it 🙌
The visual love letter to my country half way through gave me chills. Thank you
Loved your review of this Hamilton Khaki field expedition so much so its my next purchase. Keep making interesting watch reviews Adrian!!.
Great content Adrian. Also pretty jealous of the location. One of my much visit areas before I die. Stay safe
stunning nature shots!
Awesome video. Loved the off topic moments PLUS I know what NATO I now need :)
This watch was made for nato straps. The right nato would give it so much character. I really like the aesthetics of the timepiece. It lands nicely in category with Norqain's Night Sight, Tudor BB and the mighty Explorer II.
Great video and great watch Adrian cheers :)
Love this review! Thank you
Beautiful video - thank you! Fantastic looking Hamilton. Imagine it with a 12-hour bezel.
Welcome to Alberta, Adrian! Greetings from Calgary!!
Welcome to canada❤ love the video. Just been there myself this year after living in canada for 18 years. Good looking watch.
Glad you enjoyed Banff and Lake Louise. We love it as well. We are lucky to live nearby!
Gorgeous video!!! Great job! Thank you!!! Oh and the watch is great too!
Thanks so much. 🙌🏻
@@BarkandJack Great job on your straps also! I have 4 of them now and I love them! I put all my watches on them all the time! So comfortable and fantastic quality! Cheers!
I bought one in 37mm with a leather strap. I'm in love. It works with a wide range of straps, and mine keeps almost perfect time - within 1-2 seconds a day!
Well done. Very nicely filmed.
Absolutely stunning video, the landscape was magnificent and beautifully caught on camera. The watch is very interesting. For reasons I do not understand, I never paid attention to Hamilton for a long time, but their Intra-matic Chrono first and now this are two killers, IMHO.
Looks like another winner for Hamilton and excellent B roll Adrian. 👏👌
Love the videography by the way!!!😎
Thanks so much Mike.
I’ve owned a khaki field mechanical for years and really rated it! Hamilton offer some amazing watches and this new one is properly gorgeous.
By the way lake Louise is gorgeous! My folks live over there so I’m very lucky the last time I was there it was completely frozen over.
An almost perfect tool watch that also looks great for formal occasions. I’m not a fan of the compass and would prefer a sterile time elapsed bezel. Great points about the bracelet especially the taper. Not too sure about the heavily extenuated silver around the edge of the handset but on the plus side it does create a sharp bed for the lume.
Adrian, with respect I don't think you need to explain or justify who is paying for your trip etc, we all trust you to give a fair review by now.
Thanks mate. 👍🏻
Brilliant videography! Speechless…
Thanks so much Bence 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Excellant video and content and the vista is amazing thanks for such a great video and I mustn't forget about the watch, very nice and affordable.
Super cool to see you in my backyard (live just in Calgary)! You'd be a welcome addition if you did ever move here. But if you think that's cold, just wait a few more months lol.
I have a Hamilton Quartz Field Watch from 1985. I still love it and would love this automatic version!
Wow! Beautiful! (the scenery)
A fair review of this new offering from Hamilton. I watched a review where the reviewer tried to explain how to use the compass points on the dial and frankly they are just decorations, a 60 click dive bezel with less useful letters rather than numbers.
That drop at 55 seconds, majestic.
I like the watch design. I agree with you that when the minute hand lines up with the markers that its very satisfying.
As for the compass vs timing bezel, you could definitely still use the compass for a timing bezel.
I just purchased the black series willard. One of the reasons why i like the design is the crown guards. I think if this watch had everything you mentioned + crown guards, it woulf be a winner.
As a proud owner of the Khaki Field Titanium, Khaki Navy Scuba, and Khaki Field King, the white dial 41mm Expedition looks to scratch my Khaki itch. Have to get to my AD and check it out. Thanks for the review.
Enjoyed the brokeback mountain content with you and Harrison.
Ok the editing is absolutely EPIC! and dude are you co,ing to Vancouver at all?!
Love that you were in Banff
Thank you Adrian, that was beautiful scenery in Canada, and i do like that Hamilton, a very smart looking watch 👍 Au
Brilliant. Both the place and the watch.
This might be the first Hamilton watch I actually buy. I do wish there was a bit more lume for a field watch, but that wouldn't necessarily stop me from buying. Great review and the scenery was fantastic!!
More content like this please!! 👌🏻
That notch Is a great, great thing. Many times you can scratch new leather straps because of the lack of space in that area. Well done,Hamilton, love this watch.
Speaking from experience about the Hamilton leather straps is that they take a while to break in because they’re pretty thick. Once broken in, they’re super comfortable. Love the strap on my Khaki Field Auto 38mm.
he's just shilling his nato straps....
you can break in any leather watch strap in 5 to 10 minutes....just fold the strap back and forward for 10 minutes long and it´s done....I do that with every new leather strap while I watch some TV..
5:10 I very much agree. After getting used to bracelet extension mechanisms, I just can't imagine going for bracelet watches without them these days. There have been just one exception, which was a JDM Seiko with such excessively curved lugs (stretching almost weirdly far below the rest of the case), which together with a perfect fit meant it hugged the wrist so well that the bracelet could be wide enough to virtually never get too tight, yet also at the same time never be too loose. But other than that, I always long for on-the-fly adjustment if I wear a bracelet watch without it. My $600 Certina has a pretty good one, and you can find Citizen models around 300 bucks that have them as well. Not great ones, but surprisingly decent or good for the price actually. They should be standard on bracelet watches from a certain price point up IMO, and $1000 sounds about right for where from their implementation should be expected as more or less a standard thing.
Adrian, you have got to check out the sunrise on the Annapurna, in Nepal. Even more majestic than that.. I’ve seen it myself, by chance(from the lower base camp). I woke up to take a lick at about 05:30, tilted my hazy gaze up, and I will ever be at awe with what I saw, and that image is burned into my cortex forever.
The watch looks like a winner! Love to see it with a dark green dial!
Keep up the collab with Harrison. Love you both.
It's a winner. Thank you for the excellent content.
Come back to Canada when you have a chance. More to see than the Rockies. Hikes and bikes and paddles…food and drink. look into the Okanagan and give me a shout. Would happily be your outdoors tour guide.
As always your videos are fantastic, great review :) thanks !
Love the style. I must ask… what is your camera set up for this amazing landscape stuff!
Thanks a lot George 🙌🏻
My video set is the Sony A7iv mainly with the 20-70mm f4 G lens. For photos I use the Leica Q2.
@@BarkandJack Always just straight to the point without being rushed, with amazing photos and video!
And thanks for the reply about the photography, much appreciated!
Alberta… heaven on earth. The watch , looking forward to seeing it in the metal .
Thanks for the content. Beautiful scenery. It would have been helpful to explain how you use the bezel as a compass.
Awesome video & agree all your comments. Banff Hotel great place to stay & hope you made it to Columbia Ice Fields it’s dope & so beautiful.
I like this scenic video.
LOVE Hamilton. Best brand for the price point. No question.
I went to Canada for a year to study. I had the exact same feeling. If I did not have commitments in the country I am currently living in, I might not have ever come back! The low density of population and great outdoors with its natural beauty is something else. Watch is nice too though a bit crude and toylike. I like that they have a 37mm option.
Great location and review. I wish you had discussed the compass bezel more. It looks great but does it have any utility? Also did Hamilton get their act together with the AR? I love my 41mm khaki automatic but it’s really hard to read sometimes due to reflection on the crystal.
Great Vid. Thx. Get going 🚀
Welcome to Canada, guys! 🇨🇦 The Hammy is cool too.
Great video brother ❤ 👏
Great video Adrian, I see a stunning watch that is well designed but my issue with the trend of longer power reserves is more inaccurate movements, and that is okay as long as you can regulate it. in the shots of the movement I couldn’t see that there is a quick way to regulate it with the balance? So basicly it will be luck of the draw if your watch runs accurate. This is also the issue with powermatic 80 movements.
I bought the Hamilton khaki pilot day date the one MM wore in the film interstellar and I love it great watch for the money
..a field watch is a professional tool simplistic and ease of use at its best with Hamilton your not only covered when in the woods but well taken care of your expeditions, it offers best value in the entry level Swiss made with reliable movements which you can actually see and admire from there see through case back..
