Snowpiercer is about as long as the state of Ohio (if I remember right. I know it's bigger than several US States) it would take about 1-2 hours for it to pass.
If they make a 4th season, it should be about them recovering all of Snowpiercer's lost or destroyed cars as well as rerailing Big Alice and recovering its 3 lost cars.

Basically. Snowpiercer is akin to a Giant cruise liner. Which kinda makes sense since Snowpiercer was initially supposed to be a luxurious Rail cuiser that took people to various locations around the world before the CW7 Deep Freeze event. So like a ship, Snowpiercer has to have all the amenities like enough cabins for the crew and passengers, schools, food supply, entertainment, and so on. That's why it has so many cars.

If Snowpiercer was a real operating train, it would be a nightmare to wait in a crossing to Snowpiercer to cross.
I think it would be better to just build a tunnel or overpass instead of an actual crossing.😂
