The art is so cool :3 But, now let's talk about the real ending, cause i know YOU PEOPLE WHO CAME HERE, WATCHED THIS VIDEO AS AN ATTEMPT TO HEAL FROM THE ORIGINAL ONE - dw, i am here (emotional damage still in my heart) with my amazing theory xD As a fan that rewatched the ending 3 times already, i kinda find the original as a good ending. It basically tells us: "hey, i won't be like Sherlock (bbc) when you'll always hope those two end up together, but something WILL actually happen here" it's basically a confirmation that something WILL happen. And all this, is here to make their "get back together" even more emotional and enjoyable. The second season was basically one big Crowley's realisation that he loves Aziraphale, and the end, although heartbreaking, isn't necessarily bad. I think not enough people give attention to the scene : "i have my own plan, but I'll let Crowley save me because he enjoys saving me". That tells us, that Aziraphale (Crowley saved him MANY MANY times) is maybe not that dependent on him as we all thought. And it also gives us hope. NOTHING could possibly make Aziraphale decide to leave earth - where he's been since the creation of it, and leave Crowley, who he is definitely in love with. We can see that it is hard for Aziraphale to go to heaven. He once even wants to say he changed his mind. But some strong, to us yet unknown motivation, drives him to go there. I think Aziraphale has a plan. His smile in the credits can show us SOMETHING. Maybe, it wants us to think that Aziraphale is happy he goes back to Heaven, but considering his previous actions in all other episodes, it wouldn't make any sense. He never wanted to go back to Heaven. So, i think the smile is most likely one of those three possibilities (my opinion: - Encouraging himself he can do it - Trying to convince metatron he is happy - He is actually happy, because his plan is going well and He is proud Another thing that also makes no sense, is Aziraphale thinking Crowley would go to heaven with him. That makes no sense. I think Aziraphale knows Crowley pretty well, and expecting this, would be crazy of him. I wonder maybe he expected it, and he wanted Crowley to go as far as possible from his plan so it is not dangerous to him. I also always thought, if Aziraphale can feel love (like he once said this place feels loved) can he feel that Crowley loves him? °° Just a sidekick xD
I totally agree! The ending was amazing! I love my fair share of angst and the acknowledgement of the relationship meant so much for the queer community! But it still hurt to deal with especially since s3 is yet to be confirmed, so me and my best friend decided to make our own free therapy XD
I also think Aziraphale has a plan for going back to Heaven. Anyway there is still something bothering me from that last episode, Aziraphale was so happy and accepting of the choice of Gabriel and Beelzebub but when Crowley proposed basically the same thing, he refused once again. Why he thought that it was OK for them but not for himself to choose his love over his duty/side? It doesn't make sense to me.

This information tho (what his plan is) would be the key to understanding why exactly he left Crowley and didn't allow himself the same that Belzebub and Gabriel had. Obviously the motivation for this action must have been very strong, but this information would be unknown. You can pretty well guess what the characters would do or not and how they feel, but guessing the canon events of GO is almost impossible. To answering your question: i think his plan is important, but I don't want to guess what it may be, as in GO it's almost impossible. By breaking Crowley's heart, he would also keep him far enough from the plan, that may be dangerous for him It's hard to predict GO tho xD this is what makes most sense for me, but as we all know, it can be completely another way :' D

One thing I’d love to see: Aziraphale never making it outside. So if the moment he decides to go back never happened… (I realistically just want to see Crowley to get picked instead of heaven 😭)
i dont think you understand how happy it makes me that when they kiss at the end here, theyre both on the right sides, rather than the wrong ones like they are in the show while theyre in the bookshop. i love these two so much

I love this sm you guys did such a good job! I personally rlly liked the ending for ss2 because imo it makes perfect sense for their respective characters. For Aziraphale if you think about it from his perpesctive he saw how happy and optimistic Crowley was before the fall and he's seen how jaded Crowleys become, i think he also chose to go back to heaven because he wants to fix things so i reckon theres a part of him that might see Crowelys reaction of "lets run off together" somewhat selfish. Plus i mean 6000+ years of believing and being taught something was never gonna disapear in a few years. Im rlly looking forward to ss3 (hopefully after they start properly paying their writers and actors) because we'll get to see these characters at their lowest points which will make the highs feel even better. Also we've seen what it looks like when Aziraphale and Crowley team up to save the world but we've never seen them do it alone! Anyways that was my take on the ending. This was AMAZINGLY done! I could hear Aziraphale's voice in the way you drew it, the dialogue you wrote (the bad angels was spot on), really well done and healed me just a little bit. I loved the trauma of the ending as I have faith we'll get an ending and closure with these two idiots, but this helped in the meantime. beautiful
