Nice! Yet another film from Dust that I'm going to pretend to understand.
Exactly! I love this channel but all the shows are so incomplete. It's like they show you a short scene from a movie and then expect you to understand what is going on. There is never any ending or conclusion. They just leave you hanging. It can be very frustrating!
@@sinjinadams2862 Absolutely! It can be maddening sometimes. I like to think I'm reasonably intelligent, but some of those films are just so baffling, that I sometimes think they're just trolling us and there is no meaning or sense to it. Lol. But I can overlook those because there's so many amazing films. You'd never think a person can be blown away by a 5 or 10 movie movie, but it happens all the time on that channel.

So many of these Dust movies don't make any sense and come to an abrupt ending.
Is this part of a series ? I ask because I like the scenario of the androids along with the child's compassion.
Enjoyable. Is, also, a 6-minute version of 2018's Extinction.
except the ones from Extinction didn't know they were androids. Which is the best part of it.
@@pr0x1madigital I agree that was the best part. In this short, I kind of felt that the two "sisters" thought they were human, but the sick one taking a part from the other's body to rejuvenate herself, tells me she was android-aware.
@@johndavidmyself8039 it's not from her body, it's the thing she pulled out of the box at 0:31. But still, she knew plugging some electronic part into her own body would help her so I think your point still stands.

Well, you had me with the first frames showing the Tree of Life. Loved seeing a drama filmed on the beach in La Push. It's an old songline for us - staying there again just a few weeks from now.

What’s the Story behind this ??? Didn’t get it …..🤔
They are not human and are a threat, so have to be put out of commission for the sake of humans and using rifles seems to do the trick. The little girl showed compassion because either she doesn't understand how dangerous they are, or recognizes that they aren't really dangerous and it's just human hate. At the end, the one sentient being left operational, is able to power up. As for the ship by the beach, we are left to wonder who it belongs to. Humans so they can hunt down the threat, or is it the sentient beings who came here from somewhere else. Purpose? Friendly or quiet invasion because they were made to look human. The telling is cleverly complex if you pay attention, so that you can imagine several scenarios

Andre, you have boatloads of talent. Stanley Kubric began with movies that were ridiculous but were showcases for movie making skills. That's important. So there's always hope. Your storyline was sophomoric and predictable; however you did the most in 7 minutes. Bravo.

@gabemielnik 20+ year electronic musician here, music was incredible. I've watched a lot of sci-fi shorts on here periodically in my free time and this was one of the only times I was actually drawn in, in large part, because of the music specifically. You're at the other end of the spectrum of royalty-free inserts of Debussy or Ave Maria, lol... wonderful talent.

Humans are the one who "came from the sky" with our flying machines.
The two women from the beginning are some sort of androids and humans seems to be "eradicating" them.
- You can get a little worldbuilding from "These models... travel in pair" - seems like they are hunting them like how we hunt deers and other animals.
- That kid being there seems to also suggest that these androids are harmless enough. Probably they have these Programming Directive that won't let them hurt humans so they just run to avoid.
- That thing she said about the head seems like what's powering them as you can see at the end. The other android crawls into it like she badly needs it. The adult human probably left it there as a bait and the kid is just checking the bait.
No offense, but I really wish UA-cam didn’t make dislikes invisible.
Well they don't want the viewers knowing those results so they don't get accused of hurting someones feelings. But yet commenters can rattle off any good or bad opinion that they want with UA-cam saying "Well, we don't encourage these kinds of comments" which naturally keeps the UA-cam folks in the clear morally and probably legally.

I thought that, too, with the drone from 1:17 and the "horror" bass from 1:41 - The Alien. Very memorable, very inspiring. I suspect something like a Studioelectronics SE for the bass sound in Annihilation. A bit too expensive to proof it 😉
The ending music reminded me of "Arrival".
