If fender were putting these out with all the high grade features and built quality, i reckon we would be getting charged £1500+ easy. I'm a fender fan boy but they don't do anything exciting these days except put their prices up. The only thing you get back that is any value for your money is the name on the headstock and the made in America title. Fender need to realise that brands are now building better guitars at cheaper prices that are not built in America. Go Sire, beautiful guitars at beautiful prices!!

Honestly the best and imo only reason anymore to pay fender prices (for folks who can afford to) is better working conditions in factories and more reasonable salaries. So ethical reasons only. Otherwise there's hardly anything that would set fender apart from much cheaper guitars

Over a years time, I bought (new & used) one of each of the Sire 7 series guitars trying them all out (including the T7FM). I was so impressed each time I got one. My favorite "go to" is the exact same red T7, although I play all the others at different times, but that Telly is really special.

Watched this video and several others re: the T7's and finally pulled the plug. Weight is definitely an issue for me. 7lbs has become my limit...less even better. After watching Andertons latest on the new J and semi hollow T styles from Sire, I pulled the plug yesterday and bought the newer model T7TV under 7lbs F hole or semi hollow in Sunburst finish. Got the demo model from Sweetwater and saved $65. From all I've read about the photos taken of their demo models in regards to wear or damage they're pretty accurate. I could hardly make out anything wrong from the arrow markings. Reassured by their 2yr warranty. Anxiously awaiting delivery this week ! Thanks for this deep dive Landon...much appreciated ! Judy

That's a beauty. I like the finish on the fingerboard. Action height is subjective, but as long as one can lower it to one's preference w/o introducing string buzz, it's a non-issue, IMO. As for weight, I think we're getting kind of caught up in a fad regarding weight, unless one is a gigging musician. As the guy @ Casino Guitars said yesterday, "It doesn't matter for most people because most people are playing sitting in their living room." That describes me, but yeah, given the choice when buying online, I pick the lighter one. if I'm checking some out in person, I go for the one with the best sound and feel in the hands. I don't really notice the weight unless it is either really light, or significantly heavier than the rest, but if the heavy one sounds better, I'm buying it.

Nice! I was just looking at these online a few days ago for the first time. Great timing! I appreciate that you give your opinion of the guitar. We can see and hear it through the magic of video, but it’s never the same as being there in person of course. Plus, you have the great advantage of comparing it with so many other guitars. Your opinion means a lot to us, that’s why we’re watching. (And to see your dog). 🐶 Keep it up!

I've owned 2 Sire basses and I can definitely say that they are worth the money nowadays. The first bass - a gen 1 V7 jazz - had it's fair share of problems, but it was still a pretty solid bass. The one I have now is a gen 3(?) P5R and it's absolutely amazing. I'm thinking of trying one of their Strat models as my first Sire guitar, but the bodyshape is horrendous. The Tele models look much better! Their ES-335 models also look really good, so maybe I should go for one of those.

My new Sire S7 Strat type arrived last week. It is a VERY different instrument than the Fender/Squier guitars, but the quality is first-rate, regardless of the price That's likely because they design and build everything themselves in their own production facilities. BTW, if you don't know Larry Carlton, check out his work on the Steely Dan song "Kid Charlemagne." It's considered by many to be up there among the finest rock lead guitar playing of all time.

My impression is that guitars are always set up with higher action at the factory or even at the store when it could be set a smidge lower. Reason being is that people don't always realize that temperature changes, tuning, string gauges - all these things have an effect on the action and I imagine that many guitars are returned because of a bit of string buzz because the factory setting was a bit too low so it's better not to risk that. What matters is a straight neck or a slightly bowed neck (which actually you do want a hair of bow) that can be brought straight very easily with the truss rod adjustment. I have purchased dozens of guitars over my 66 years of age and I have never NOT had to tweak the action to my liking. Never. But I am very comfortable at making my own adjustments which include all the usual stuff, filing nuts, filing bridges, shims etc. More players need to learn basic setup. I've had friends struggling with an acoustic guitar that was actually decent and they thought it was junk simply because it needed a setup. Cheers... And you're funny by the way.

3:11 *Valley Arts guitar!* Those were SO sweet! I could never afford the Custom Pro's or Larry Carlton and other signature models. I merely had their Standard Pro which was still amazing. Sold it 20 yrs later for $1600 vs $1200 brand new. wow.
That fire in their under-insured shop killed them; sold to Samick, then dormant, then Gibson revived for a few years, then shut down. Still they always catch my eye with they come up on reverb...

My T7 is flawless, and I honestly can't find anything that needs improvement... at any price. Sire just took the simple Tele and made every aspect of it top-notch. As stated, the fit/finish is flawless and the pickups are great. Bone nut, rolled finger board edges, cloth wiring, flawless fret-work. And at THIS price? Fender (and Suhr) has some 'splaining to do.

Your NO UPGRADES NEEDED comment convinced me. All the other Squires and such, paranormals, etc, all the reviews ever talk about is the necessity of upgrading this or that component. I came back to see if you looked under the hood. I was hoping for a center space routed out to add a pickup. Too bad there is not. It would have been sweet to drop in a humbucker or a Strat type pickup up the road. Maybe i will do it one day. For now..i really like my T7 and I got it NEW for 476 euro ($521).

Yeah, odd dealbreaker. The glossy maple fingerboard looks great to me.

That's one of the things that caught my attention. Anyone who asks, why That's an issue? Is obviously gonna say it doesn't matter. You can rough up the neck to make it feel smoother, but the fretboard is something most people wouldn't feel comfortable doing themselves. I have 3 guitars with roasted maple necks and fretboards, and nay one of them have any clear coat. Some people like shiny things more than others I guess?

Just seen your short about this guitar, must have missed this video the first time. Anyway I’m intrigued especially after seeing the price! Glad you did a full video otherwise I’d be stuck listening to people play cliche blues licks as well as some half arsed attempts at jazz (some 7th chords) and chicken picking. 😂

Great review. Thank you! If you have time, I would be grateful for a piece of advice:
I’m into jazz, and I’m hesitating, do you recommend this Sire T7 over a Fender Telecaster?

No string retainers on the the headstock? Great for those Jimmy Page behind-the-nut string bends.

I have the Sire H7 in see through red and I love it. Looked at the T 7 in white and was tempted to buy it, but I ended up getting a Squire Classic Vibe tele in butterscotch and a special cranker pedal instead.

I have ignored Sire up until now, thinking it's yet another brand name made in Indonesia that is touted as be "the best" whatever... I can't dismiss them after watching Landon's review because he is Mr Telecaster !

Unless something changed, Sire guitars and basses are made in Korea in Sire's factory

Take off, eh….great review Landon….I just bought a Sire D5 Bass which is a 51 Fender P-Bass copy….It is fantastic. If I had the cash, I’d buy a Fender but I can’t imagine that it would sound or play much better than my Sire….Dave from Aurora, Ontario.
