      Yvonne Borlenghi thank you, yes already we have more dragonfly’s due to the sound of running water.

      I have had all shapes and sizes buzzing around. I had to rescue a very big one from the lounge the other day. It wasn’t happy about it but I succeeded and it flew away unharmed

    Excellent pond that I can see will stay clean for a long time to come. My two favourite plants are water mint and marsh marigolds. Water mint has to be regularly managed but creates an excellent backdrop to the rear and edge of a pond. Also great for attracting insects. Marsh marigolds behave themselves and give a great flower in early season. I Just wish I had your in depth knowledge of ponds. I've had ponds for slightly over 60 years and my learning curve keeps on going! Great videos.

      I love learning new stuff. Always something to learn from. Thank you, the day we stop learning is the day we start to die.

    Great turn around , love the idea of the stream /waterfall , I've also had a wildlife pond poorly designed & not what I wanted at all so as these owners have done will get someone in that knows what they are doing , in the meantime still have hundreds of tadpoles etc to watch :)

      It's crazy how many people go through this. I need your help, how do get in front of people before they put their trust into someone that only knows what they know. I truly believe the first company did not do it on purpose. How did you research the first company?

    I’m guessing the only dislike is from the first contractor who built the pond 😂

      lol maybe, I don't understand why people dislike without giving feedback, thank you for making me smile

    I just done a clay one . I dug down through top soil . Hit clay . Went another 8 inches down for extra clay . Stiffed it added water skimmed it all over and sides twice . Best it with a Cornish shovel . Filled it up with water and its day 3 no leaks . Even got fuller through the rain . Over the moon

    The audio for your videos needs work. The talking is so quiet I have turn the volume way up but keep my finger on the volume button constantly to quiet the LOUD portions quickly. Do u wear a mic for the videos?

    So, do you just plant the plants straight into the water without the basket?

    • @ThePondAdvisor
      @ThePondAdvisor  4 роки тому

      Pond plants are just like garden plants, some prefer pots some prefer soil, some prefer low food content and some high. We did a mixture in this pond. Some of the oxygenating weed went straight in to the water.

    So the original cost £4000, how much did the restoration cost? another £4000?

    • @ThePondAdvisor
      @ThePondAdvisor  3 роки тому +1

      I cant totally remember I would say more, however the restoration fee was not the wasted one, we will be going back this year to service the pond

    The contractor can't have been a professional passionate about ponds; he didn't even provide a slope for wildlife to climb out of safely.

    • @ThePondAdvisor
      @ThePondAdvisor  4 роки тому

      Yes I think they were general landscaper’s that did not know ponds. Lots of places now every edge is wildlife friendly
