Kowgan got it right! at 5:58 and 7:37, I mistakenly say Latitude, when I meant to say Longitude. In all cases, the star sightings compared to noon Aestrin time are for determining your current Longitude.
I keep getting inconsistent Longitude readings. (East to West) 5:20 doesn't work as far east as I am. (going from emerald to happy bay) i think im at 36 latitude, but cant tell if im at 1 or 4 longitude... any help on how to fix this?
@@drock5597 Honestly it all comes down to timing and consistency, but the night-time sightings are not as accurate as noon, because as the instrument used is much more time-dependent at night.
At the section "using witena at night" (6:23) your arrow pointing to the north star is incorrect. The north star is second from left in the pic you are showing not the 3rd. I had to look this up lol because I thought the game FAQ was wrong for a sec since your stuff has always been spot on lol.
With the sun compass and chronometer i could pinpoint my location. With this thing its a large oval of where i could be. switching from the sanburq to the brig doesnt help either its slower and theres 100 little winches to turn every time you wake up.
if you measure 56 at the witena measurement, then you are at longitude 23 (56 - 33), just in case you want to visit chronos. But it can also go wrong and you are then on longitude 30
Oookay It took me WAY too long to understand how to read the time on this thing. It's a 24-hour time and each gold notch on the inner ring is 1 hour. The jewel represents a moon (aka midnight or 00:00). At 1:06 the time being shown is almost 1300 or 1pm.
Since the video said "outside ring" I thought it meant the red & green part of the ring. I'd say it's more like the inner golden ring that moves with the jewel.
I left Gold Rock bound for Albacore to deliver rum in 2 days. The whole damn trip was into the wind, it was miserable. I had to sleep and when I awoke I was near albacore but there was a storm and it took me forever to get near the island. But once I was near enough to look for the dock I realized it was Gold Rock. I hate this game.
You REALLY want to consider to re-record this again with a script, so you dont stumble over your own words constantly, say the wrong things and say things in completely the wrong order.

@@Joel-qz6sd That works fine until you are trying to cross the open ocean for days between island clusters.
Solid video! Everything very well explained. Thank you.
Thanks for this the other videos on the topic had been to quick to follow thoroughly
The info can be pretty dense, now that the Chronometer is out, there's a lot of new info we need to put out for navigation!
@@SimGamerTV what? A new device? Omg I just saw it.... It's so beautiful 😍
I mistakenly confused Latitude and Longitude once in this video. Comment below if you find it!
5:58 and 7:37 :)
Great guide! Thanks for sharing!
