Even though we’ve played together and I know you in person. These vlogs are actually very well made. Good insight and information. Always looking forward to another. Great job
Quickly becoming one of our favorite poker vlogs. Love the insight into your hands and strategies. Love the bonus call out on tilt And some things to help mitigate that situation. Looking forward to the next one!
Another good video. I find myself tilting when I go long stretches (multiple hours) of being card dead. Which happens to me all too often. I haven’t really found a solution except to set a timer for an hour after I start to go card dead and if I don’t pick up a hand get up and leave.
Unfortunately there are a ton of bad hands in poker and learning to be patient is a huge part of playing a solid game. I’ve folded for 3 hours straight on more than a handful of occasions. Try to start stretching that timeline out over time and stay longer without getting tilted. It’ll be good for you in the long run!
Great video Todd! One thing I do to avoid tilt is after a bad beat. I usually walk around the casino for about 20 minutes. That usually helps me avoid tilting
Todd, totally agree that the other player needed to get up and walked around, get a drink or something to clear his head. Sitting there, frustrated is just asking for issues. Totally surprised he called off his stack on the turn without even having a pair, I never get those types of opponents at my table. Get session and insights into what was happening during the hands.
I think we’ve all been in his shoes at one time or another and being able to Identify when it’s beginning to spiral is a learned skill for sure. Thanks for watching!
In the QQ hand, given the flop, the BB does have range advantage. He has all of the sets, straights, 2 pr, right? Definitely good fold at the end. Great video
Feel like in hand 6, a C bet is the proper play. You have quite a bit of equity, and potential redraws to nut hands. Its also unlikely that your opponents connected, and you may get them to lay down some aces that have you outkicked. You may also have the best hand at this point, and against 2 other players, may be optimal to deny equity
You and my coach have the same feedback for that one 🤣 Def worth betting with the BDFD potential and gutter and I can still continue facing a raise. Great feedback, thank you!
Tilt has never been a big problem for me. I don't think it's possible to just not tilt in all situations - you have to sometimes take a break. Boredom tilt is probably harder than bad beat tilt because it isn't caused by wrong thinking. A quick trip to the craps table or snack bar can get you back awake again and back before you lose your seat. But sometimes you have to just leave the table and have dinner or a nap. On one occasion, I drove an hour to the casino, got into a shouting match in the parking lot, and ended up just turning around and going back home. Just never play on tilt, whatever it takes.
@@toddswardenski Usually 90% of the times is my premium hand like AA get cracked by stupid low card like 2-3 or 5-6...I walk away for 10 minutes then get back, recently I started changing tables, and it worked great..
@@mhammadkhammash2005 for me it was the realization that my strategy is winning long term and it really is one long session in cash games. Unfortunately variance has no favorites and no memory so it feels unfair in the moment but losing the idea “fairness” in poker has helped me a lot.

Love the video, subscribed! My problem is when I lose, I lose big. Lost 12k in two games this month, 5/10, 1500 max buy in. My competitiveness is also my downfall. I hate leaving stuck and defeated. I’m a winning player with average overall win rate of 75% but when I tilt and chase, I end up digging myself a deep hole. What would you recommend? I thought about limiting myself of X amount of buy ins per session….
Glad you enjoyed it! I’ve struggled with the same mindset, and I too am competitive and hate losing. I needed to establish a stop loss to curb the losses myself. Accepting that it’s impossible to win every session was huge for me. I started to figure out I have nights where I just don’t have the fight to get it all back or there’s no feasible way to win given the lineup and I just call it. Table image also plays a HUGE role in the aforementioned decision making. If I’m losing pots consistently, my bluffs stop working so it’s a losing battle because making hands is hard. I hope that helps. I’m happy to continue the conversation tho if you have specific thoughts or questions.
My good poker buddy told me its not about how much u can win in a single session, but rather its about controlling ur losses when u have a bad session. Limit urself to 2 bullets and let the Variance do its job. Good luck bro!!!

We were flipping, but I think it’s safe to say a properly rolled player who isn’t tilted is just topping up and moving on rather than looking to get it in with KQo for 40bb. Best case scenario we’re flipping, but I think he’s a huge dog the majority of the time and a 50bb mistake over 2 hands is pretty significant. Thanks for the comment and the feedback!
Calling off 40 BB's with King-Queen off is clearly tilting. 3 betting Queen-7 suited, which was best case scenario with the runout is yet another very clear example that this opponent was tilting. I appreciate that insight. The inability to control my emotions at the table has been my biggest issue for sure. I was just talking about this yesterday with a poker buddy of mine. Not that I am in any way a pro but tilting can not only cost you money but it can change the entire vibe of a table.
