As a gentile, reading the Bible years ago diligently for the first time, God waited until I got to Jeremiah to meet me on a personal level in the OT, and it was powerful. Kept going, and He met me again in the book of Luke while He was getting crucified, proving that His fingerprints are all over the Bible. My tears both times were real and unexpected, and it allowed me to experience His love for me.

Just got back from a 2 week trip to Jerusalem from the USA with my wife and our four kids under 12 years old. Wanted them to get a chance to see the Bible come to life in places like Hezekiah's tunnel, the Garden Tomb/Holy Sepulchre, and Hinnom Valley, Gethsemane. We saw SO MANY young children in school groups touring sites and I was moved by that. Visited many of the holy sites and lived in a neighborhood, experiencing "full immersion" for the entire period...no group, no daily tour schedule. Walked the old city each day. I couldn't help but feel for the Jewish people. Their love and joy in trials, their spirit. Experiencing our first Shabbat as Christians, hearing people sing as we walked past windows on the way to our apartment. I felt no fear during the war, just peace. And as I spent some time in prayer with Jesus I felt him saying he will always be with me, and he showed me his love for the people of Israel. All of them. I came home and made a very modest donation to your ministry. I want everyone in Israel to know Yeshua, because they are a special people who God loves and whom God has used to deliver hope to the world. It's my prayer that there is a continued Jesus movement in Israel and I'll continue to pray for your ministry. I want to do more, it's a first step. And to visit again, Israel will forever be in our hearts now, and by visiting I hope the holy land comes to life for our kids and it isn't just a book they read but actual places and people now. Thank you for what you are doing.

This really touched my heart as well. So clearly stated. I am a Christian woman and worked as an administrative assistant in a Jewish school for nine years. I saw firsthand what religion can do to people, sometimes not a good thing. However, I still keep in touch with “my Rabbi“ who is Chabad and was my boss. I pray for his family’s salvation. Also keep in touch with many of the parents that I knew in those days, and I pray for them too.

8:39 - 9:25 this portion really resonates with me. Raised Catholic, I came to truly know The Lord in 2006. Much of the struggle with my family has been my willingness to witness so openly since that time. I think like Laura said in the beginning, they figured I would come out of it as a passing phase. But when she speaks of the woman that is still in the community because of “authority” and finding that there are others hidden within, it shows the power of the Holy Spirit. There have been others in my family who are not so bold but that have come to me privately about their salvation journey. Just a few weeks ago, I was a bit disheartened after I attended a long-standing festival at their church (the church I grew up in), one whose name is dedicated to an idol of all things - they even walked the statue around pinning money on it while I was there - and for a second I thought, “they’re never going to get out of ‘this’ (tradition / community),” before the HS stopped me and said just keep doing what you’re doing. I felt strongly He meant keep showing up, being present. A few days later, I got a text from a dear friend who said her women’s group was doing a bible study on Ruth and the faith she had to leave everything she knew to follow Naomi while the other sister (I believe this was Orpah) stayed behind, clinging to tradition. She said she knew she had to send the text to let me know this reminded her of my journey and to be encouraged basically to keep going.

In bible scripture it shows to us the people of Israel built temples in the ancient history, not that the promised Messiah physically help in those cases. I wouldn't say Cyrus, was a type of Messiah or Solomon respectfully. they came to Zerubbabel and to the heads of the families and said, “Let us help you build because, like you, we seek your God and have been sacrificing to him since the time of Esarhaddon king of Assyria, who brought us here.” Ezra 4:2 And Matthew is confirming Jesus comes from David in the first chapter that is the whole point for people to know where Messiah comes from. Just got back from a 2 week trip to Jerusalem from the USA with my wife and our four kids under 12 years old. Wanted them to get a chance to see the Bible come to life in places like Hezekiah's tunnel, the Garden Tomb/Holy Sepulchre, and Hinnom Valley, Gethsemane. We saw SO MANY young children in school groups touring sites and I was moved by that. Visited many of the holy sites and lived in a neighborhood, experiencing "full immersion" for the entire period...no group, no daily tour schedule. Walked the old city each day. I couldn't help but feel for the Jewish people. Their love and joy in trials, their spirit. Experiencing our first Shabbat as Christians, hearing people sing as we walked past windows on the way to our apartment. I felt no fear during the war, just peace. And as I spent some time in prayer with Jesus I felt him saying he will always be with me, and he showed me his love for the people of Israel. All of them. I came home and made a very modest donation to your ministry. I want everyone in Israel to know Yeshua, because they are a special people who God loves and whom God has used to deliver hope to the world. It's my prayer that there is a continued Jesus movement in Israel and I'll continue to pray for your ministry. I want to do more, it's a first step. And to visit again, Israel will forever be in our hearts now, and by visiting I hope the holy land comes to life for our kids and it isn't just a book they read but actual places and people now. Thank you for what you are doing.

I can see the value in that but for a theist it seems more necessary to seek to answer the Jesus/Yeshua question. If there is no god to know then this is pointless and Jewish people do indeed have beautiful and rich traditions, teachings and culture. If there is a divine being then how best to know and to understand the divine is more important. I don’t think tradition needs to be thrown out to question such things. Peace
The Jews possess the true religion;the Torah was bequeathed to them by God Himself at Sinai. You dont need to 'feel for them'; they are quite content and live the fullest lives obeying the laws of the Torah which can never be abrogated.

This really touched my heart as well. So clearly stated. I am a Christian woman and worked as an administrative assistant in a Jewish school for nine years. I saw firsthand what religion can do to people, sometimes not a good thing. However, I still keep in touch with “my Rabbi“ who is Chabad and was my boss. I pray for his family’s salvation. Also keep in touch with many of the parents that I knew in those days, and I pray for them too.

8:39 - 9:25 this portion really resonates with me. Raised Catholic, I came to truly know The Lord in 2006. Much of the struggle with my family has been my willingness to witness so openly since that time. I think like Laura said in the beginning, they figured I would come out of it as a passing phase. But when she speaks of the woman that is still in the community because of “authority” and finding that there are others hidden within, it shows the power of the Holy Spirit. There have been others in my family who are not so bold but that have come to me privately about their salvation journey. Just a few weeks ago, I was a bit disheartened after I attended a long-standing festival at their church (the church I grew up in), one whose name is dedicated to an idol of all things - they even walked the statue around pinning money on it while I was there - and for a second I thought, “they’re never going to get out of ‘this’ (tradition / community),” before the HS stopped me and said just keep doing what you’re doing. I felt strongly He meant keep showing up, being present. A few days later, I got a text from a dear friend who said her women’s group was doing a bible study on Ruth and the faith she had to leave everything she knew to follow Naomi while the other sister (I believe this was Orpah) stayed behind, clinging to tradition. She said she knew she had to send the text to let me know this reminded her of my journey and to be encouraged basically to keep going.

Jesus fulfilled nothing of the Messianic prophecies; he didn't bring world peace, did not bring the Jews back to their homeland, did not build the Temple --- and is not even a descendent of King David on his father's side, so the argument does not even begin. [Only paternal lineage is followed in the Torah. Even Matthew knew that, hence the first 15 verses of ch. 1

@@rationalistssj6540 I think the argument you are attempting respectfully there, is not biblical. Reason the Messiah scripture doesn't speak about him building a temple. In bible scripture it shows to us the people of Israel built temples in the ancient history, not that the promised Messiah physically help in those cases. I wouldn't say Cyrus, was a type of Messiah or Solomon respectfully.

And Matthew is confirming Jesus comes from David in the first chapter that is the whole point for people to know where Messiah comes from. But if a person rejects the virgin birth which fulfills Isaiah's prophecy, then they would disagree with what the Prophet's spoken of anyways.
But ppl change the narrative with what the want from Messiah, in Jesus time people wasn't seeking a temple.
But I think we can all rejoice at her testimony, a precious soul has received salvation.
But whether people choose to believe Messiah or not, I feel those who don't believe can esteem believer's in high regard. That's just me.

It's an invention of the great corruptor, Paul, who took a verse in Isaiah 7:14 and purposely mistranslated it (instead of 'young woman' he wrote 'virgin), which works for ignorami who dont know Hebrew, like the pagans he was talking to. Virgin birth is an old Greek myth. And J did not descend from the Davidic Dynasty so he cant be Moshiach. Period. End of story
