Great reaction. I felt the same about this episode like anytime we were with Izzy, Jimon or Malec I was so happy but then when it focused on the main Clary and Luke stuff I was bored.
As a book fan the take my strength scene is so painful to watch cause it's totally butchered. it's one of the most important malec scenes in the books for Alec's character development. So I actually never like it. The Balcony scene though remains my favourite Malec scenes to this day. Nothing has beaten it so far imho.

This episode fucking sucks. And that's not just because they completely ruined the backstory they were trying to tell, but just the whole writing and shooting of this episode fucking sucks. i only watch these reactions because you actually make sense when you talk about this show, with the way it's made and everything, and it's interesting to hear that from a non-book fan. and your love for izzy, of course, which I can wholeheartedly relate to because Emeraude Toubia is a damn snack.
I watched the first season because I loved the books, but I couldn't watch season 2. It was messy and the writing was bad. Interesting to see this reaction though - if you want really good fantasy I'd recommend The Magicians and Dirk Gentlys Holistic Detective Agency!
