I can't help but think this is based on a Duple Dominant bus body (rebodied as buses from their coach counterparts between 1980-1985 in the UK) and still fittied with the Leyland 510 engine, just like the Leyland Nationals. Much like the Class 142 Pacers we had here in Manchester.....and the North of England (Northern), FGW (Devon & Cornwall) and TfW (Transport For Wales/Trafnidiaeth Cymru)

I have seen one in Kelani Valley track as well. Close to Waga. Another beautiful bit of rail track cutting though greenery and water streams. These are Very good for short trips with less infrastructure requirements when it comes to stations and even the Rail Bus itself
Namaskar, good local engineering. I noticed that there are two buses coupled back to back. Do both run at same time as multiple units especially on hills? If yes how are their transmissions synchronised? By the sounds, the buses have a manual transmission?

There are no assistant drivers in sri lanka railway..they are Driver's assistant..they are not allowed to drive a train at all..admin,please correct it..
