No need to fill your tub back up as long as your water level is higher than all your jets! After removing your filter(s) I place a long nose funnel into the intake and pour the desired amount into it while running my system, this way 100% of it goes into your lines! Let my tub run for about 5 or 10 minutes and completely shut it down (Unplug it) for about 48 hours. At that time I drain it and wipe it down, refill it and I'm off to the races! Been using this for about 5 years and do it once a season. Most of your leaks usually are worse in the spring up north, everything shrinks in the cold, once weather and tubs heat up, everything expands and tightens up and water loss usually isn't as severe. Good Luck, PS: I usually purchase the 32oz bottles, and there's no need to use more than about 10-12oz an event.

Suguest you read the entire instructions from Marling's website. This is not intended as a "dump & go" fix. For best results: After a day or two running the pumps (6 to 8 hours) you need to drain the tub completly, clean up any residue, and then allow the tub to sit (dry) for several days for the product to cure. The only thing not covered by the website directions but I was told by my "tub guy" that recomended this product is that durring the "run process" use a mop to mix the compound back into the flow from the bottom of the spa as it is heavy and will settle to the bottom of the tub. He also recomends that after the curing (dry) period and cleaning to fill & flush the tub twice. First time using the old filter (to trap any of product that may be left in the tub) and the second time with a new filter. I haven't done my yet as he also suguested to do this after the weather gets warmer for best results. Fixaleak also recomends above 40 degrees min outside temp & at least 70 for water temp. My guy recomended 100+ works best for water temp. i.e. Operating temp. My tub is 400 gal & I am going to do the 32 oz treatment on a level loss of just under an inch per day leak.

You skipped what I thought was the most important part. I thought the last step was, you drained the tub, and let it "cure for 2-3 days before filling back up the tub. Any reason you didn't do this step? It's on the instructions. By the way, I love this stuff. I have a 23 year old spa that was top of the line in 1998. Started leaking in 2015, but it's otherwise a terrific spa. So with this product, using it once or twice per year, are six years into it with no leaks. Lat time lasted about 18 months, then over a two week period, the gunk started coming lose. Leaked again. I did the Fix a Leak process, and no leaks. Like I am saying, this is not permanent, but it does extend the life of the spa without expensive repairs.

Oh, and yes, like others have said, it often takes more than 8 ounces to work. I buy eh 32 oz bottom off amazon for $25. What a deal. Oh, and finally, if this doesn't work for you, you have a really serious problem that needs professional repairs or replacement. Remember, spas aren't designed to last more than 15-20 years.

No, the filters are not supposed to go back in until the leak is stopped. You also need to run the pump on high at least every 4 hours for a full day but I recommend every 2-4 hours. I also use a large car wash brush to aggressively mix the water with pump running. my leaks are big & it worked.

1.) Did you use the whole 8oz?

3.) How long did you leave it in the tub?
4.) How did you remove the excess Fix-A-Leak? On the bottle, the directions say to vacuum to backwash or waste... not sure how that applies to a hot tub... or at least MY hot tub. 🤣
