@@Soren27 I agree. I think Square-Enix dropped the ball a bit on Revenant Wings. The play style is taking me a bit of getting used to... but although technically a direct sequel to Final Fantasy 12, it probably could have made a fantastic Tactics-type game with just a bit more work. Vaan and company already had their established Mist Quickening unique attacks, some of which returned in Revenant Wings, although some Quickenings were changed entirely. 12 had also established different types of abilities and Magicks, most of which were sorted into different "Jobs" in the Zodiac Age version. However, Revenant Wings has only a limited number of attacks per character, all unique to each character. Both 12 and RW have a system similar to the Bazaar in A2. Don't get me wrong, RW, I think, is a good game now that I've actually played 12 and gotten familiar with the characters... but if they were going to have a battle system that's as close to the Tactics battle system as it is... Square-Enix could have used a bit more imagination and gone all the way to give it all the elements of another Tactics game.
I just opened up my sealed copy and started playing it on my n2dsxl. I had this sealed copy since launch! Was gonna keep it unopened, but then just decided ahh to heck with it! . Ive been playing it for 2 weeks now and luving it!. I had just finished Might and Magic Clash of Clans and was looking for another gem to play in my collection. Ive been opening up alot of sealed games from my collection lately. Im almost 50 yrs old now, and im just like screw it lol. I wanna play them and not just look at them!! Lol Great video btw!! Took me awhile to realize about the bazaar for new gear. Wish I'd seen your video 2 weeks ago when I started!
im just replaying it now, but played it back when it came out so i forgot a bunch of it. glad they have a good tutorial, like the part where they make you use the bazaar to unlock a sword, after like the first mission.
As a kid, I played this game so much that it became my fav final fantasy game. I was mainly excited they made a sequel because I wanted to play FFTA but my brother wouldn’t let me play it, and so when I found out there was a sequel, I treasured it, and I still do, to this day❤
Just got my copy of A2 as a Christmas gift to myself (relatives gave me an Amazon gift card). One useful thing to go over in a future video might be the "Homework" system at the beginning of the game, and how that relates to Clan Privileges later.
I've been going through GameFAQs to see what jobs get what abilities from what pieces of equipment... and it looks like the Thief class has been severely nerfed this time... No stealing abilities, no stealing helmets, no stealing armor, no stealing shields, and no stealing weapons. 😢
@@makairp True. But in both Tactics and Tactics Advance, it's pretty fun to just take all the enemy's equipment! Heck, in Tactics, you could just take most of the enemies! (Invite/Entice), and THEN take their equipment and dismiss them. Oh well. I guess in A2, I'll have more fun using the other job classes for a change. :)
I won't lie, I didn't like this game as much as FFTA, the story imo wasn't as interesting, not that the first one was some kind work of art mind you, but it was engaging enough and the characters had real enough motivations to make it believable they got moved into that world. Also, I found the main character pretty unlikeable and generically arrogant, though I did like the expanded jobs they had.
i liked this game main mc due to him actually wanting to interact with the world much more. he felt more mature for his age. the story felt mature in a good amount of areas. imo the balancing made the game less fun compared to ffta. regardless the game is still fun and i enjoyed it
God i love and miss this game soooo much ~ it's underrated af and deserves a remaster/remake

What we really need is a whole new entry to the series. After all there's technically only 3 titles in the fft series.

this game got stuff where I wish I knew before I played. I done 2 playthroughs of this game and i didnt know some things

@BardInBlue a2 serves as a balance to the first game. Mp changes, Stat changes. A2 is more challenging though

Great game. Easy to exploit with the new character that does 400 damage. And soooooo many missions.
