      You got it right. If he was able to handle pressure, he would've won the 2004 olys and most of the WCs before 2008. I believe Bolt is the only sprinter who could regularly beat a healthy Asafa if he could remain calm under pressure.

      @peerlessbeard8914 well I set the county record for middle school in 8th grade with a 58 then high school I went to state in Florida in the 4x4 but I ran a 48 my senior year of high school n broke out county record with a 50. I hurt myself doing long jump in district so I didn't heal in time for reigonals but my sub made it in the 4x4. N we got 3rd and I ran the fastest split at 47. I was a 4 sport athlete too track was my 3rd focus. I didn't want to compete in college cause I had better offers for academic scholarships. I actually walked on the track team and ran a 51 in a meet in college but I had to work to get myself through so I hung it up.

    I think the definition of the « perfect » sprinter is objectified by the results of their times. If your running style break records? Therefore this would be considered « perfect »
    Nevertheless, Asafa’s running style was art and seamlessly executed.

    • @desmondyung
      @desmondyung Місяць тому +2

      No, man, if you are extremely naturally gifted like Usain Bolt, Kishane Thompson or Christian Coleman, you can run really, really fast even though the technique and form are far from perfect.

    • @messifcb101
      @messifcb101 Місяць тому

    For Asafa to be a perfect sprinter he would of had to take his 200m more seriously to help his maintenance in the 100. Tall sprinters shouldn't be getting run down repeatedly in the 100 meters.

    • @JamaicanMeCrazy
      @JamaicanMeCrazy Місяць тому +8

      Disagree with you he did break the record a few different times not many sprinters can do that. As for Usain even though his records speak for themselves you can definitely see where improvements could have been made. As unfathomable as that might seem he could have probably gone even faster. That's how I know these records can still be broken. Just imagine a Usain bolt with asafas technique and you'll see it's definitely possible.

    • @jacan4eva
      @jacan4eva Місяць тому +2

      He stopped running 200s because they caused him groin pain.
      Getting run down isn't about being tall or not. 100m sprinters usually are much better in either the start or the end of the race. In asafa's case, his start was the better part. Rivals like Bolt and Gay were better in 2nd half of 100. A good finisher will always close the gap on a fast starter. Asafa's problem was that he couldn't remain relaxed when this would happen because of the pressure to win especially at WCs and Olympics. His teammate Shelly-ann was also a fast starter who hardly ever run 200s (except last few yrs) and she rarely ever got run down because she can handle pressure and remain relaxed.
