Kid rock was right Bob Seger the most underrated singer songwriter and live entertainer of all time 😎🤘🏼
That's pretty accurate....never mentioned on " top lists"....and he was straight fire show...
Of all the "heartland rockers" there was Mellencamp, Springsteen, and maybe you can throw in Bryan Adams, even tho he's from Canada. His musical style fit the genre. But before any of them, there was Seger.
@@madcapper6 yep ... the weird thing is that when Bob "burst on" to the national scene he was over thirty and had been a professional musician for over ten years. Stranger still, he was a legend in Detroit before anyone else knew who he was. I had the experience of seeing him in 1973, in Detroit, as a teenager ... had no idea who he was. He sold out Cobo Hall, over 10,000 people crazy scene. Yet, a week earlier, he played to less than a 1000 people. He earned his way to the top.
@warren3427 Kid rock inducted Bob Seger into the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame take the time to watch it🤘🏼
Kid rock lol
Nah he said Def Leppard sucks! That’s treason!!!!!!
Even back then I knew his music was timeless.
Such a great storyteller in his songs. He describes perfectly and transports you to the neighborhood hills in Hollywood area of L.A. if you've ever driven through there at night during the summer.
The last few times I saw him, this was the final song......he knows how to end a concert! Roll Me Away starts it and this ends it....
love
The drumming is awesome - driving the song forward like a wave of sound....
I was just thinking that. The whole band is in high gear.
Come To Poppa, SC...The song, I'm talking about the song. 😎
Love so many things about seger songs, but at some point I always think "wow listen to that piano"
Bob was blessed to have the greatest backing band in rock history - The Silver Bullet Band.
Scribe, you’re hearing Bob pounding the piano!
Though I get through the day without a tear..lol I know who he is singing about uncle Bob is amazing need to check him out live doing that song I think in 77 he put so much energy into it will wear you out.. check out night moves its another great song..one of my favs is shame on the moon.it has a personal meaning to me..RIP dad..
This is a supercharged song, gets your energy up
Bob Seger created masterpieces; almost like he couldn't help it...
"She had been born with a face that would let her get her way" - Love that line
Great reaction Scribe! This whole album was something my brothers and friends and I would listen to in the garage drinking and getting high to back in the 70's! I was a teenager and living in Michigan and Bob was from Michigan so whether it was our garage or a friend's garage everyone had a record player with a stash of albums from Michigan bands like Seger, Ted Nugent, Grand Funk, Rare Earth, Motown bands, and that's the thing, you said you heard a Reggae vibe in the bass, and you're right, Michigan bands combine a little of everything in their music! Always have! The radio stations back then weren't just country or pop or rock. You'd hear Bob Seger, then Hank Williams, then Kiss, then Martha and The Vandellas, then Frank Sinatra, then The Doors, you heard everything on one station. Music was music but just don't bring any import cars into Michigan because they'll be stripped and car-be-cues within 2 minutes of you closing the door! LOL
His home being close to Detroit he liked to use the Motown sound in his music.
Detroit Rock city
Actually he preferred the Muscle Shoals soul he heard coming out of WLAC Radio in Nashville, Tennessee in the 60s and early 70s. That's what led him to the tiny town of Sheffield, Alabama. In 1971. Other travelers arriving at about the same time were Glenn Frey, Don Henley, Randy Meisner, Bernie Leadon, Steve Winwood and a Groovy Chick named Linda who was about to explode in the Country Rock wave that was beginning to come ashore! Along with Paul Simon, The Staple Singers Joe Cocker, Otis Redding, Cher and Boz Scaggs who had all heard what the Swampers did to help revive Aretha Franklin's stalled career. Throw in a fledgling Florida Band named Lynyrd Skynyrd and you had a hotbed of enormous talent sharing one tiny building that the Rolling Stones had almost blown off it foundations just a few years earlier. Looking back, it was an unreal occurrence that will never happen again.😔
@@kenperk9854 I love the story the Swampers tell about Paul Simon. That he booked 4 days for 1 song. Came down. And they had it finished in a couple hours. Real pros. (The video is on YT. I think uploaded just this fall)
Bob Seger is an amazing artist!! Legend
I’m 68 years old and I love your reactions lady they are so real!keep it up!
ScribeCash should go to Katmandu.
That's really, really where she's going to.
If she ever gets out of here,
She's going to Katmandu.
Wonderful storytelling yes? Still holds up!!💘
He tells stories in a manner that makes a movie appear in your mind …. 50 years of killing’ it !!!
Spot on.
Please do Bob Seger live in 1978 at San Diego ' Still the same"
Brothers and sisters! America. Canada! Give this young lady the very Best in Great music! Been listening to garbage long enough! Canned Heat live at Woodstock singing Boogie children.
Watching you get lost in this song made my day. It's one of my all time favorites.
You should listen to his " The Fire Inside " Awesome drums a great piano solos .
Need to do "Come to Papa" and "Her Strut".
This is one of the greatest Rock songs of all time.
His live performance in San Diego is a must watch. I think it’s from 1978. I’ve seen him twice, and took my mom to see him the second time.
I’m a Midwestern homeboy. This would be me. Enjoyed watching you groove to my favorite bob seger song. Amazing musicians and singers! Two other songs from bob I enjoy are “feel like a number” and “still the same”
There is a live version of this, shot in San Diego in 78 I do believe, gives a clear picture of what he was like In his hay day..
Iconic story teller. You always take a trip with him! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏
I’ve always felt that these lyrics are some of the best of all time. They read like a novel and transport you to the mind of a character in a specific time and place. Most songs don’t do that. Love it. ❤️
Absolutely perfect way to describe it. Perfect song. On of my all time favorites.
Even if it is heartbreaking at the end.
So happy that you went down the Bob Seger rabbit hole. Dating myself but I grew up on his music 🎶 crazy talent
You reaction people don't have enough days to live to listen to all these songs.......OHHHHH....I love it>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
One of 3 artists critics said was the next "Dylan" in the mid 70s. The other 2 were Springsteen and Jackson Browne. All 3 great singer songwriters.
@scribecash, you should also check out the song "Old-time Rock'n'Roll" by Bob Seger
Or "Rock and Roll Never Forgets"
@@DavidB-2268 hell, I'd love for her to react to any of Bob Seger's other songs
Bob is from the suburbs of Detroit, that is the MoTown influence.
Grew up listening to Seger, pure rock n' roll at its best.
I'm a 72 Michigan kid, and Bob Seger is rock and roll Gospel, pure and simple. The best highway song ever.
Great rabbit hole girly!!...you should check out Her Strut
That is the legendary SILVER BULLET BAND
My uncle was a truck driver and I was on the truck with him we were rolling into Hollywood just coming up over the hill going into Hollywood and the song started to play
Try doing the speed limit while playing this in your car. Awesome song from an incredible artist. Its like story time every song. 🎵
Check out Strut by Bob Seger
He has so many great songs! Check out fire lake! If you haven't already!
We here in Michigan are famous for world-class rockers. Segar (metro Detroit), Ted Nugent (Jackson), Rare Earth (Detroit), Grand Funk Railroad (Flint) to name just a few. Trivia: Craig Frost is the keyboard player on this record. He grew up in Flint and was with Grand Funk Railroad until their breakup in '74 and then joined Segar. He's been with him ever since. Michigan rocks...!
Seger not Segar!
@@jerryparks6123 correct. My bad. Tequila moment... 🙃
"American Storm" from the Like A Rock album is an awesome jam.
Get well soon uncle Bob💯🤘
Love your reviews young lady!
LOVE YOU SRIBE!!! I hope you are wiining!!!! Reach out if ya have to! We love you!!!
It’s such a joy to watch you disappear into the music. Your love of music is obvious, ya can’t fake that kind of reaction. Keep it up!
The passion that kills. whoa.
@scribecash Listen to The Session podcast with Christian James Hand from July 1, 2019. For the isolated track breakdown on this song.
I live on Sunset blvd and have stories. Hugs.
Its hard to not start rocking to Bob's music ..thumbs up on your reaction 👍
This is high energy music!!
Great reaction..FROM THE OFFICE!
LOVE SENT FROM CANADA
You've got to do Night Moves! Also, I would recommend Feel Like A Number, Katmandu, Nutbush City Limits and his cover of Chuck Berry's C'est La Vie/You Never Can Tell. Have fun! 😁
A high energy classic.
Some people get eaten up by the promises of Hollywood and love. The dreams come true, that aren’t real. And then you left holding ...........nothing.
Hello ...I'm from Brasil! I Love Bob Seger✌
I love dissecting songs but it's the vocals and the singer that I focus because I was a singer long ago and far away. Bob was one of the best!
Yoy really do love his music don't you?? He was one of my favorites
Still the same is awesome 👌
I really like how much WE love Bob
If you like Bob Seger's music, and you wanna get a feel for the kind of Live Shows he puts on, I would like to suggest Bob Seger's Double Live Bullet Lp. Recorded LIVE in Kobo hall, Detroit Michigan.
His music was so unappreciated back then because he was still considered a struggling artist.
The Double Live Bullet release was the album he put out just before Night Moves came out in late 1976.
" Traveling Man / Beautiful Loser." Off the. Double Live Bullet is my absolute favorite. It was music he was putting out a time in his career when he was thinking about hanging it up, because his career hadn't taken off yet.
His last ditch attempt in the music industry was the Night Moves release.
And of course, Night Moves was the album that finally helped push him to the top of the charts.
But...Bob Seger Double Live Bullet: ( " Let it Rock." ) was a perfect example of how hard he was hitting it, back then in the mid 1970s.
Scribecash you are making me feel old....😁😁
The beat of this song, is the beat of your heart when ya young..............................pumping man.
I have been one of your subs since you were just getting started. And your certainly one of the great reactors on You Tube. Thats why I'm still here my dear. However you have asked numerous times what should we react to on the channel? For a long time I have givin you some great ones that is only going to bring views, New subs to your channel. And yet for some reason you don't react to them. You will NOT regret it. Consider reacting to (Janis Joplins) (Me And Bobby McGee) ITS ALL HEART! ALL SOUL! I have also suggested reacting to the mind-blowing guitar playing of (Eddie Van Halen's) ERUPTION! (Live Without A Net) As much or more than I would like to see you react to u
it? Your subscribers will even MORE!
ooohhhhhhhyes
I added a comment a while ago ,got the title wrong ,said "traveling man" should have been "rambling man" a good rocking tune
I read somewhere, might've been the album insert, that the drum track for this song is being run backwards.
Ramblin`Gamblin` Man - Bob Seger.
Now why ain't I surprised Scribe picked up on this one? :^D
Old Time Rock and Roll by Bob Seger 👍
Not many studio recordings crackle with this kind of energy.
the double hit on the snare is killer, keeps everything moving foward. Poppin'!
👍👍👍
oooohhhhhhhhyes
You've done a great job covering Bob. But you must react to Night Moves before you kiss him goodbye. 💯
I like your blue pullover
Thanks, Scribe - I am totally WITH you on those background singers.. at the risk of sounding insensitive or racist.. I recall this song when it first came out - and joking with friends that "those are the hardest working four black chicks ever!"
ACE----SWEET
Musical Americana..
...Silver Bullet band with Bobby at front... unstoppable...
It's possible you may never hear a better lyricist in any of your reaction clips. Great page!
Sea grr is how you pronounce his last name . like all of his reactions you've done so far
Bob Seger Detroit rock and roll! The very Best! Try Heavy music Live. Rambling Gambling Man Live by Bob Seger. Adios 🤠🇺🇸🐎🏈🇨🇦
So being born and raised in Detroit the Rock n Roll radio smash was Traveling man/Beautiful Loser.
Detroit radio gold.
It's off his Live Bullet album.
🙂
👍👍👍👍
Sunspot Baby and Katmandu
Bobs a good ole Detroiit boy.
We've got tonight
If you would like to continue down the Bob Seger rabbit hole. I think your next one should be "The Fire Inside"
Freda Payne....band of gold
One of history’s greatest guitarists is in poor health, and things look grim...out of respect for the great Leslie West, I encourage you to listen to either Never In My Life (for an up tempo jam), or Theme from an Imaginary Western (for a slower, more poignant song ). Theme was originally written by Bruce for Cream, but Clapton rejected it and it was subsequently given to Mountain, and of course, Leslie made a masterpiece of it.
Katmando
good ear.
Kathmandu!
SEEger
Check out "like a rock" 😏
Have a listen to Get Out Of Denver by Mr.Seger but make sure you have the lyrics handy.
Live or Video
