It’s hard to create niche content when you know it will get less views. Even though it a strategy it’s hard to see 9/10s. But some of my worst performing videos have generate the best leads for my business. I’m a financial adviser, and my UA-cam channel is incredible for generating leads BUT only 2% of my audience want or can afford financial advice. Ultimately people come to UA-cam to learn to DIY. The next step is obvious, and my audience is calling out for it. But it’s taking me forever to build a course. It’s like writing a book! Thanks for all your content Ed!
This is exactly how my UA-cam journey has played out. I can’t take much credit for all of this. Luckily, my educational training (physical therapist) allowed me to niche down very quickly (solving pain and injury problems) and create content that only addressed these types of problems. Focusing on one specialty area and solving a specific problem for other people is a great piece of advice for anyone looking to build a brand and following. Thanks for the video!

Awesome video as always. I am small UA-camr, and I think that for small channels the most important thing is to get good presence from the beginning. If you are not popular, people won't care even if you have the best videos and the best content on platform. I am not beginner anymore, but I know how hard it can be (and honestly if I haven't used a lot of Famester, I would have quit a long time ago. It was a proper game-changer for me).
this is yet another of your videos that sums up my youtube journey to a tee. im the red jellybean, and sometimes it gets frustrating not seeing much growth on my youtube channel as i feel its too specific - however, using youtube as the vehicle to drive traffic to my other services and offers/products and actually make sales has been literally life changing. the numbers dont even sound real. ironically i still have your "the proven 90 day system for explosive UA-cam growth" page open on my phone. id be curious on your thoughts on YT growth on my channel. when thinking about my YT growth im still torn between being too specific, or just sucking at youtube 🤣. I paid $15,000 for a coaching program for other aspects of my business and it was probably the best money I ever spent. Even still all of the traffic comes from youtube so I can only imagine the potential if I could figure out how to grow that at a faster rate. 🤷♂ another great video, thanks!
Interesting! So is your offer the training on how to use the kit? I think we could help but feel free to book in a chat and they guys will help you work that out.
Ed, this video is incredible. The idea, the structure, the storytelling, the editing, all of it is bang on. To be honest it's exactly what I need right now because I teach English to Vietnamese people, which is not super niche as there are 100 million people here, but niche enough to not get a lot of revenue solely from views (RPM is also lower in Vietnam). Because of that I've been thinking of a way to productize, and this video just affirms what I've been thinking. Views can be low, but if I have a product, I really think it'll boom. So thanks for uploading this, your red jelly beans really appreciate it!
Thank you, excellent video and, as a family reunion photography business owner, I can attest to serving a specific niche of people is the way to go. As far as making videos. I know I need to, I’m a former radio personality so I know I can, I’m just nearly 60 years old now and even though I’ve encourages a ton of older people to get in front of the camera, I’m finding it impossible to take my own advice… but this video may have finally made me realize that it’s ok to not have to be super polished. It’s the information that matters. I need to start a new channel though. I’ve got everything I need, just not the guts. I’m not even sure it’s my nearly 60 year old face, the bullies online, goodness. Who needs that? I’ll try to focus more on the people I serve needing the information. 🤞
To prove your point, you just answered the EXACT question I've been asking myself for months: Why am I working so hard & not connecting as deeply with my target audience as much as I desire? I've been talking to everyone & no one... 🤦♀ THANKS for saving me even more frustration! Time to narrow in!! 🎯

As a youtuber, it is so easily to get psychologically distracted and start chasing views, but to hear you say what you said is great confirmation and validation of what needs to be done. Thanks for making this very concise video!
Man, I'm so glad I found your channels in the beginning of my journey. Been at it about 1.5 years, but... I'm not nearly there yet...spent too much of my early time on shorts. Helpful...but not great. Doubled down on long form and the channel is growing with my ideal customers. I appreciate all your incredible insight!
Love the video Ed! I feel like I’m positioned exactly like those small creators. Still need to build a little bit more before I can really make an offering, but I have several planned that will be excellent (and also help the community on the whole)

Glad you enjoyed it! By the way the reason people dont usually answer every comment is actually due to the amount of hate they get. Many creators end up with mental health issues as a result of it so they have to avoid the comment. The truth is the fastest you grow the more of the wrong audience you attract and the comments can become a real motivation killer

Sometimes the UA-cam algorithm is the best thing. I’d not heard of you or your channel before but the algorithm knows that I’ve been doing a deep dive into this type of content recently. I’ve been taking in a lot of advice and recommendations to help me decide whether I want to start a channel or not. As with most topics, there are a lot of conflicting opinions as to the best way to start (“don’t start with a niche for your first 50 videos” was the advice from a successful UA-camr.) I’ve even taken in a few courses on SkillShare. I’m telling you this because of the many hours I’ve been watching over the last 2 to 3 weeks, this video has been the most helpful. And seriously, that is one truly memorable acronym! Needless to say, I just subscribed. I suspect binge watching past videos of yours will soon follow. One of my favourite pieces of business advice from Warren Buffet was (paraphrasing) - every day think about what you can do to surprise and delight your customers. That last S in your acronym hits that same resonating message.
Ah man, Thank you so much! It's been great learning about piss with ya! For real though, I love your channel and how you present information. Thank you for all you do!

Always being the go to person for a challenge - There now you can make an new acronym like CHILL Challenge, Help, Information, Love and .... Larger! Cheers 🍺🍺🍺
Wow, I love how you explained the concept... But I've got some thoughts and questions: Entertainment channels generally have a broad appeal, targeting anyone who might be feeling a bit bored. However, Mr. Beast effectively monetizes his channel with his brand. Moving on, do you, as a creator, have a system for generating product ideas when you're just starting out? Your message on this channel is essentially 'create products for a specific niche,' but I've never watched a video where you outlined the process for creating those products. '32 passive income ideas making UA-camrs rich' was the closest, but you didn't mention the process of creating the product itself. Additionally, your insight on providing extra service is truly valuable. Could you create a video specifically addressing this topic? I mean, are there easier methods for delivering that extra value? I believe it's easier to provide the kind of extra service you mentioned when you're already an established creator who sells high-ticket products. In contrast, for someone like me who's just starting out and focusing on low-ticket items, it's more challenging.
i got a notification for this video, clicked on it all excited and then it said it was private. dont do that to me again i love watching your stuff haha
@@realexpatslivinginitaly if it was still private neither of us would have been able to respond haha it showed as private for about the first 20 min's after being posted (for me anyways)
My man. You really are very good. Thank you for the awesome content you provide - I always take a lot from it. Plus it's always entertaining - a PISS acronym - why not? Thanks for the difference you make.
What was the second S? Serve? Service? It says “S. (Important)” Good video (and great trick to get people to rewatch the last part!! 😅) Could be PISO with Overdeliver 😉
I've got it!!!! You are a genius....I'll find a problem to solve ! ( Okay....that didn't go as I expected. I called UA-cam and asked for Neil. I posed my question...." What is your biggest problem that I could solve?" I could almost hear him thinking in the dead silence, then he spoke " Your channel.....your channel stinks more than a manure wagon in the hot sun.....and you won't go away" ).
Thanks for the content! Do you have any suggestions for niching down the broad category wellness? I worry about feeling pigeonholed into too narrow a subject where the content becomes redundant and uninspiring to make. Thomas Frank has done a great job niching down and seems to do well with his level of focus, and there is a lot that can be done with style for men in their 40s, but wellness as a whole feels more tricky for my brain. Thanks so much!
@@creator-booth That’s an excellent question. I’d like to provide low-energy solutions for improving aspects of wellness but have had a very broad focus encompassing sleep hygiene, nutrition, movement, hygiene, and on and on. The target audience are folks looking to make adjustments that are as convenient as possible to help improve their overall health.
@@KimHelm Thank you for asking :). How to prepare the easiest, laziest meal for good nutrition would be an example. Another would be a routine to get out the door quickly when strapped for energy and time. How to incorporate movement when you have a desk job.
Great vid as always! I am currently building up a video game essay channel about the state of the industry - but with a positive twist, and at heart these aren't gaming videos, they're supposed to help people stay in touch with what's fun to them. Does anyone in the comment section have good ideas for any products that could fit this niche? I feel like there's not much outside of the more typical stuff like patreon, merch, affiliate marketing, sponsors and the like. I'm not really showing a problem that I can solve 🤔
I gotta say thank you for all you do!

Entertainment channels generally have a broad appeal, targeting anyone who might be feeling a bit bored.
Yes! I totally agree on making people feel special.🙌🏻 Hand written letter is impressive, love it!!!
i got a notification for this video, clicked on it all excited and then it said it was private. dont do that to me again i love watching your stuff haha
Private? Really! I thought it glitched when I hit publish!
@@realexpatslivinginitaly if it was still private neither of us would have been able to respond haha
it showed as private for about the first 20 min's after being posted (for me anyways)
I’m 90 sec in and already so glad I clicked. 🙏🏻
Great video! Who is the UA-camr in the beginning that says he's broke right now?
You are on fire!! Your humor, the topic, all of it - thank you!
Is gold here brother, thank you
I definitely loved the analogy & gave a BIG LIKE 🎉...
My man. You really are very good. Thank you for the awesome content you provide - I always take a lot from it. Plus it's always entertaining - a PISS acronym - why not? Thanks for the difference you make.
Just started three weeks ago…. Just going to keep posting those videos 🦋🦋🦋
Nice job with your video. You have a pleasant disposition and make some interesting points about specialization. Also about the spirit of service.
Man thank you so much for all of this! i just hit 1k subs the other day and i gotta give you credit!!!
Hoping we all grow. So whos with me?
👇
I'm with you homie
I've been experimenting and learning every day, seeing what works and doesn't. Definitely a learning process!
I been trying to figure it out ! Thank you will try it and see
What was the second S? Serve? Service?
It says “S. (Important)”
Good video (and great trick to get people to rewatch the last part!! 😅)
Could be PISO with Overdeliver 😉
Hi great vid! Can you provide the names of the UA-camrs that you named in the vid? Thanks
This is such a good video. No fluff.❤
Great info! Thanks!
I needed this video so much right now.
So what dies the second S stand for?
*does.
Bravo Ed! You're sooo good.
Thank you
SO hard to be running a gameingchannel i do my best and really need help with it ngl
The term "wellness" is so broad I dont actually know what it means, whats a problem it solves?
@@creator-booth That’s an excellent question. I’d like to provide low-energy solutions for improving aspects of wellness but have had a very broad focus encompassing sleep hygiene, nutrition, movement, hygiene, and on and on. The target audience are folks looking to make adjustments that are as convenient as possible to help improve their overall health.
Whats 1 specific problem you solve?@SunsetSunriseFullCircle
@@KimHelm Thank you for asking :). How to prepare the easiest, laziest meal for good nutrition would be an example. Another would be a routine to get out the door quickly when strapped for energy and time. How to incorporate movement when you have a desk job.
@SunsetSunriseFullCircle which one you've done the most?
And describe that person
Awesome thanks for the info😎
Great vid as always! I am currently building up a video game essay channel about the state of the industry - but with a positive twist, and at heart these aren't gaming videos, they're supposed to help people stay in touch with what's fun to them. Does anyone in the comment section have good ideas for any products that could fit this niche? I feel like there's not much outside of the more typical stuff like patreon, merch, affiliate marketing, sponsors and the like. I'm not really showing a problem that I can solve 🤔
#nevergiveup 🎉 keep going. All you can do is keep improving from your last video 👍😎
Thank you for that
A like and a subscribe for this wonderfully made and informative video. Thanks mate.
