This week we ask you to review this 1831 Matron Head Large Cent and guess the grade. The 1831 large cent was struck during the administration of President Andrew Jackson, one of the United States's most controversial presidents. The coin is considered a middle date in the large cent series and is highly collectible.

Hi, Chuck. I just purchased an 1853 Large Cent. It is very similar to this one in looks. On mine, there are radial lines on the stars at 12 & 1 o'clock. There is not a single distracting mark. This one seems to have a bit of a rub on the cheek. Mine does not. Mine is gorgeous, as is this one. Mine still has luster, especially where it is still red. Mine is graded PCGS MS63 BN. Because of what looks like a rub on the cheek of this one in the video, I would grade this one AU58. However, I think the grade on this one is probably also MS63. So, my guess is MS63. I like "Guess the Grade" videos. Thanks.
