You forgot Power, aka Energie NB Power. I share a 2bdr and my bills if I had a car would be $1,555 but I work from home so my bills are actually $1100 approx. I walk to the store from late spring to early fall so it saves on transit(or if I drove, gas) and splitting some of the food bill helps. We have a Costco membership and we find it's just worth it. As a side note, I'm in Fredericton(Freddie) and there are 1 bedroom apartments for rent(odd layouts)/bachelors for rent that are $750/mo with Power, heat, water and WiFi included.
Thank you for the video. I would love if you could update the values to current prices (specially rent prices and utilities). We're a family of four and a medium size dog, planning to move in to Moncton in august from Colombia. Thank you very much; we love and really appreciate the help and information we get from your channel.
It will be interesting what the assessed value on homes will be in the next two years considering the prices we have seen them selling for. Though municipalities can lower their tax rate in order to balance out the assessment increases locally, I doubt we will see this anytime soon.
Hello there.. my interest with NB lead me to your channel and since yesterday i’ve been viewing in marathon 😅. Just wanna tell you, keep uploading and you are very inspiring.. And your blogs are concise and very informative.. i love it as in i wanna meet you there someday 🥰 (who knows?) Do you still recommend NB for us CA dreamers to be our destination despite the rise in rental payment and other situation like taxation and health care situations. Coz i find NB to be relaxing place to enjoy family life. By the way, both me and hubby are OFW living with fam here in Middle east. I hope you’ll get to answer my query.. Thank you dear 😘😘😘

Cost are going to skyrocket in regards to housing if the landlords, that are now lobbying government to remove the double property taxation on rental properties, get their way.
I hear that New Brunswick has some concerns. 1. New Brunswick has the highest Radon Gas levels in Canada. I hear that when you buy a home the you must sign a waiver that you understand that you may have this gas in your house. 2. Most of the province is spray several times a year with glyphosate ( round up). This is done in the forests with helicopters and or planes. 3. New Brunswick has that Neurological brain disease that has affected around 38 people 6 of which has died. These things are a big concern. I was wondering if it is safe to live there?
For a single person making minimum wage, there is not much disposable income left, but there is for a couple both making minimum wage. Now the question is what type of quality apartment can a couple get at 950 a month; is it old? newer? a non smoking complex with no smoking permitted in the units? It seems you need to make at least an hourly wage of 20.00 dollars as a single to have some decent disposable income for vacationing abroad, having car, and going out for entertainment.
@@QuestCanada that's expensive... then the figures ircc giving as proof of funds for settlement is way off... 21k/yr for a 3 person family is not realistic. you looking at more to 40k per year.
As usual, this is another interesting video! thank you very much for the efforts have you put for sharing and explaining those huge informations . there are state subsidies for assisted housing, especially for families with children? wish you continued success in your challenges.
My wife and me went back to BC because the cost of living for us in NB was too high plus the quality of life is much better. In BC our groceries are less expensive and the variety and quality of fresh produce is overwhelming; our rent is much cheaper, which includes utilities, basic cable, but our square footage has been reduced about 30 percent, but at least it is a newly renovated unit in a great sought after location and less cleaning for us to do. We got very lucky. The only thing that costs us a little more is car insurance and gas, but isn’t an issue for us, as we don’t insure all year round and don’t drive much. We live off of our modest pensions, interest and a decent rental income. We prefer this, as what we rent is nicer than what we could ever own. Our housing expenses including our rent. strata fees, property taxes plus having no homeowners grant is overall still less than what we paid for in rent in NB monthly. It is nice to have more disposable income now so we can take off for much longer vacations abroad; not that we don’t appreciate BC’s biodiversity and Gulf Islands not to mention the mountain ranges and valleys. I somewhat used to take them for granted, but no more. So glad we chose not to stay in NB.
Hi, what's ur advice to future canada aspirants. Do u regret or feel happy with the decision of moving to canada from middle east with all the experiences u got until now. Thanks
Id say moving to Canada isnone of my best decisions so far.I do love it here ,social services is truly reliable. This is a permanent country to live in unlike countries in the ME as you know
Living in the middle east is financially rewarding. Dubai has so much to offer. anyone can make theri dreams come true in dubai. Only one disadvantage is that it is a temporary place. Dubai does not offer permanent residency.
this video is very useful for me. thank you do you know the childcare fee for kid below grade 1 as well as before and after school fee if we send our kid to kindergarten center? are there more chances of full time jobs for the spouse without diploma degree in restaurant, farm or nail service here? salamat po
@zeshanq minimum wage is about 12$ an hour. It truly depends on your spending habits and family composition. If you rent a room with minimal spending, Yes you can live at minim wage.

I think what you are saying is wrong , near the University the cost of 950 square feet cost 1,250/- , which is costly for a town like Fredericton.
This vid was posted more than a year ago, with inflation and crazy real estate costs,1250 might actually be the current market rate.

Yes, minimum wage is livable but very little disposable income.
Do you get taxed for your car besides when you originally purchase it? Where I live you are taxed twice a year for vehicles such as cars or boats.
tax is only when u buy it

21 dollars for hour it s good salary or not in New Brunswick.!?
21$ is above minimum which is a good thing. Now if it is sufficient for you or not is totally up to you...
