    Most trains you see today are 8000 to 8500 ft long. If you see a train with two engines on the head end and a remote on the rear they are probably 8500 ft. If you see a train with 2 units on the head end and a unit in the middle, sometimes two units and a unit on the rear they are 15000 ft long. It is away to eliminate crews by running two trains at once

      @@aTrippyFarmer I know what you mean, and in most case I buy top quality tools, equipment and parts but in this case I would buy the cheap guns because, you aim it at the bearing and are just looking for a temperature differential noticeably higher than other bearings, not to mention at that price you could buy ten or fifteen of them and wouldn't much care when they are lost or run over. To start just buy a couple, lift the side covers on a combine after a hard run, point the laser at different bearings and see if it works for you. You also can check for slipping belts, thermostats that aren't opening all the way, hydraulic oil that is overheating, check a/c evaporator temps, verify corn dryer temps, check bin fan bearing temps, the list goes on and on. Good luck whichever way you go.

    Andy... i noticed that you mentioned @10:20 having fuel and DEF on a trailer. I sent you a link in your last video about the Thunder Creek service trailers. I think having one would cut down on your fuel costs from having to return back to the main farm just to fill up before moving to another field. The Millenial Farmer has a Thunder Creek service trailer that does both fuel and DEF but also has a tool box and an air compressor in it. I'm not sure how much in gallons the diesel tank is but when I checked the Thunder Creek site they had one that started at 500 gallons of fuel and I think the next size up held 960 gallons if my memory serves me, not sure on the DEF but I'm sure it was perportional in relation to the fuel capacity.

    • @davedammitt7691
      @davedammitt7691 3 місяці тому +1

      The millennial farmer has a much smaller farm than the Doles do, but the number of UA-cam subscribers they have make sponsors take notice. The Thunder Creek fuel trailer that Zack and his family have cost them exactly zero dollars. I'm pretty sure if a fuel trailer company wanted to give Andy and Marty a free fuel trailer, they would accept.

      That is the only flaw to the idea. We fold our augers in every time both on the combine and the cart, so it shouldn't be an issue. I've heard of left hand unload carts getting into the combine as well. It's all about paying attention!

    It’s the same in Europe no business gets subsidies like farmers
    It makes no sense the only result is that the land gets more expensive, maybe they do it for the banks sake.

    Would it make any sense to run two different tractors on the cart to split the hours instead of putting all the hours on one tractor? Def is a joke nobody should be made to run it.

    Well, I will get on my soap box. you gripe about DEF, I will gripe about ethanol in my gasoline and why I have to purchase it. I am quite sure some of the corn you produce goes to ethanol. Another item, you trash talk and bite the hand that feeds your industry. Subsidies, price floors, subsidized crop insurance, etc. all at taxpayers expense. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. As a citizen who supports the government's efforts to insure the survival of the American farmer, I think the taxpayers deserve a bit of gratitude for what they do, not bashing the government when it requires you to do something you don't like. You have every constitutional right to express your opinion and so do those who disagree.

      I don't think a food product should be burnt in our cars, not as long as there are people around the world who are starving. 👍🇺🇸

      The problem with DEF isn’t actually DEF itself. It’s the whole DEF system that is the problem. They are prone to failure, they are expensive, and it is illegal to remove or ‘delete’. It also leads to inconvenience as far another tank to keep track of and it will literally shut your equipment down when it’s not working properly. Ethanol in gas does not require any extra components or any more you have to keep track of than running without it.

      While I agree on the taxpayer funded stuff, the government isn't my mom. In other words if my mom is doing something that pisses me off but at the same time is helping me I'll most likely let the bad thing go(probably not perfect wording). However with the government we should always be striving to have better laws, regs, etc. 2nd point is the emissions thing most certainly doesn't just affect farmers so giving farmers shit for complaining abt it doesn't fix anything.
