It’s scandalous how underrated she is, she has so many wonderful songs! Hopefully one day she will get some proper recognition.
I've been listening to Nerina since the early 2000s - and I've been listening to this song on repeat in Spring when my family and I fled from the war in Ukraine to another country, and everything was so strange and barely predictable. It was a joy at least to have a new song from a singer I like so much for so long. Half a year later it is still far from being easy, but I listen to this song to remind myself I've already handled a lot and maybe I can do more.

The music is so good on this song that it actually creates its own imagery. It really is astonishing! The first time I heard it, a few seconds in I decided to close my eyes and experience it, rather than check out the lyrics on the screen. As the song began to build, I started to cry. It was like this when I first heard Stay Lucky on the radio, I think a potent mix of a wonderful song and the realisation that a new Nerina Pallot album is almost upon us just overwhelmed me and it was no doubt the same this time. I just can’t wait for the new album. How is Nerina Pallot not a household name? Maybe this time...

I really like the rollicking drums and rythmn backing on edit version. It's reminiscent of another English Rose 🌹who doesn't need to be mentioned. The whole vibe and production is perfection. It's a welcome departure from Nerina's Love Album Stay Lucky. The Vocal treatments are a first and add a nuanced touch of newness and add an extra layer sheen. The Woman is like a fine, rare Red Wine. Improving with age. The whole record is a misnomer. Nerina definitely knows what she is doing. Listen on good studio quality headphones for aural heaven. 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹Not five stars. Five rose's.

I'm really LOVING this. A different style to much of your music, but beautiful to listen to and already an ear-worm. A poignant storyline running through it, and it would be poetry too if you were to only read the words.

I'm so sad to hear the voice manipulation you've used in this piece of music. I really don't think it adds to the value of the song. It just makes me feel that you're emulating a certain style used by more mainstream names. I think it's a mistake to go in this direction because you're sound is timeless not trendy. I really hope this is a one off. The purity of your voice does not need the auto tune sound

Jeez 🙄. I’ve been listening to Nerina for donkeys too; I admit I have been reluctant to listen to new material sometimes because of fear that it would somehow break the spell 😬😳🤪 or because I didn’t want to loosen my grip on an album I was so used to listening to (I have issues with change). I was taken aback by the voice work on my first listen of Cold Places too BUT you gotta trust genius, ya know? It’s Nerina! She’s not going to let us down. I played it over and over (just like I have with Alice At The Beach) I told myself to relax and enjoy every note, every lyric, let my brain cells explore all the intricacies and then I realised: she’s done it again just like she has for years and years and my ridiculous fears evaporated. There’s Carole King, there’s Kate Bush and there’s Nerina ❤️ Plus, the girl’s gotta make some cash. It might be that producing a track in a certain way opens up a potential extra income stream 🤷♀️. I hope the song grows on you and you can let your disappointment go 💋😊
