This is a brilliant version of the song. I've heard many versions but this is one of the best. Heard it on Normal People. Fits so well with the characters.
I agree, one of the best covers of this song. Nerina has a great voice. I've never heard of that TV show but I ran across Nerina's cover because I have listened to probably hundreds of cover versions of this Joy Division song, in many different 'genres' of music, enjoying just about every single one of them...because the song itself is timeless.

Came right after hearing the song in Normal People
Even in such an emotional series this song and scene on the train was so powerful.
Ian Curtis vocals on the original are unique but I love this version, especially its use over the scene where Connell stares at Duchamp's painting and Marianne comes into the shot by his side. The slight tweak in the lyrics was wonderful (the original says "there's still this appeal, that we've kept through our lives") - Nerina sings "There's still this appeal, that we've kept through the years" and I think it works wonderfully well for the scene.

Takes me straight back to Joy Division and Ian Curtis' writing this song as his marriage was breaking down. Sad times but a brilliant soul.

Heard this on 'Normal People' and reminded me of the original version by Joy Division, i like this version more and from reading on the Net there may be a series 2 of Normal People but it may not be for some time, let's hope not too long, great series with some good tracks on it.

A man called Robert Elms brought me over, this is a very excellent version of this song, Nerina Pallotit almost makes it different yet it is the same song which a great quality when you someone else's song and make it your own. I recall the very great Scott Gorham of Thin Lizzy express his disappointment about some people who go to great lengths to learn and record Thin Lizzy songs but they are almost identical to the original recordings, Scott want people to use Lizzy songs but to put some of themselves into those songs.Nerina Palloti as done this to a very super stander on this song.
Used to just take this song on face value as an indie banger...... but stripped back and reinvented this song is pure lyrical genius..... and this version suits the lyrics perfectly
