1. New sphere = alegrebaic sum of sphere & cylinder = 0 + (-1.50) = -1.50 2. New cylinder is numerically same with opposite sign = +1.50 3. Rotate cylinder through 90 0 4. So if prescription is 0 / -1.50 x 180 a. Spherical Equivalent → -1.50 / +1.50 x 90 5. If prescription is 0 / -1.50 x 90 a. Spherical equivalent →-1.50 / +1.50 x 180
Excellent explanation ma’am
Wow thanks ma'am .. actually was waiting for this topic to get it cleared by someone
Hey would you be able to tell me mine
If my right eye is -8.00 sph and CYL -2.75 axis 20
And my left eye is -6.25 sph and CYL -2.75 axis 160
very well explained mam 👏
and plz make a video on Near point of accomodation by push up , pushdown and minus lens method
Great
very nice 👌
Thank you Dr Arup 🙏
Kindly cover the direct ophthalmoscope instrument
If spherical power 0 dsph and cylinder power -1.50 dcyl , what is the spherical equivalent?
1. New sphere = alegrebaic sum of sphere & cylinder = 0 + (-1.50) = -1.50
2. New cylinder is numerically same with opposite sign = +1.50
3. Rotate cylinder through 90 0
4. So if prescription is 0 / -1.50 x 180
a. Spherical Equivalent → -1.50 / +1.50 x 90
5. If prescription is 0 / -1.50 x 90
a. Spherical equivalent →-1.50 / +1.50 x 180
@@ophthalmologypearls thanks
That is not correct, this is true if you want to change the -/+ sign of the prescription.the correct SE is -0,75sph
@@alexlagogiannis3682 please explain
Hey can you tell me
-0.5sp,-1.5cy/180(both eyes)
So the sperical correction is -1.25?
Am i right?
Yes
@@ophthalmologypearls so mam does it also mean if i have -1 cy only it will work as -0.5 spherical?
The spherical equivalent is -0.5 D
Can you share DHA optometry syllabus and mcq & answers
Sorry I am not familiar with optometry syllabi
