How to avoid temptation

- Have you ever considered how Satan fishes for us? Temptation is the bait and sin is the hook. How often does Satan cast his bait in front of you? And how do you respond?
We want to challenge you to dig deeper into God's Word, and help you to remove your lens of interpretation, so you can let the Bible interpret itself. We are a Christian ministry that believes and teaches the whole Bible. We want to be like the noble Bereans who studied the Scriptures daily to know the truth.
Our Vision is that people will learn to let the Bible interpret itself.
Our Mission is to cause people to dig deeper into the truth of God’s Word.
We Value the Truth of God as it is revealed through the Holy Scriptures.

We must always be on guard...
I’ve fallen to temptation far more than I would’ve liked. Not only that, I suffer from intrusive thoughts that are just as negative. All I can do is pray and trust Him to help me overcome these issues.
Thinking of you in your fight! You're not alone.
Fast once a week at least. This helps to get disciplined
We can never have too much biblical wisdom. Blessed is יהוה (the LORD) that he has given us guidance. Thank you for sharing this Lex, may your name be found in the book of life.
I was a thief and I am constantly tempted, but the results cured me of falling for it. I am amazed how the temptation of it is so strong. Only coming to clear understanding of the damage it causes gives me the power to resist.
I had thievery in me as well. I've prayed more and more for God to change my heart to one suitable to do HIS will to others. I've been compelled more and more to give. Give of my time, give of my things/possessions, give from my heart and God keeps increasing the opportunities for me to give.
after we trust Jesus, what we were doesn't matter anymore, now, 'am' is all that matters. We're following Him, that's who we are now. I'll pray with you and for you that the temptations get weaker and weaker and that God will compel you, also to crave giving. Even down to the smallest amount. and up to the largest, where Satan dangles the lure for you, go immediately to God and He will provide a way out of the temptation. You can get around it and leave it behind you. I love you.
Great analogy. Stay alert and pray for the Spirit to open your eyes to the bait, y’all. temptation isn’t a sin, but falling for it is.
Good example
I was just thinking about this. Get behind me Satan
Thank you
Perfect anology , good message
This is the best explanation of sin and sinning I have ever seen! Thank you!
In my line of work - analogies get the job done to someone who's never even considered a concept before. It creates a pathway they are familiar with through a jungle of new observations and ideas.
This analogy was absolutely spot on. Well done, Lex.
Truth
Great analogy, I think this is going to be the topic I will teach my kids this sabbath.
Teach your children then let your children teach their friends 😇👍
Yep yep yep
Truth....thank you. God be with you 🙏
Well said! So very true. Thank you!!
Awesome Teaching! Thsnk you.
Awesome teaching Lex!!! Praise Yah for ur ministry!!! 😊❤️😊
Amen
Thank you even is obvious we often need this kind of reminder.
Thank you for this reminder/lesson.
- God Bless
Thank you very much for this short video brother Lex.
great video... yes temptation is something I strugge with
Thanks for this video Lex, has really blessed me this day and encouraging me to keep seeking the Father in pursuit of holiness and righteousness, bless you brother
Most of the times Sins like gossiping are taken lightly but no sin is simple in the eyes of Our LORD.
James 1:26
If anyone thinks he is religious and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this person's religion is worthless.
I pray to the LORD that He should help us see sin For what it truly is and He should help us overcome each and every temptation that comes our way.
Thank you for making this video, brother... And as the scripture says: if I live after the flesh, I will die, but if I through the Spirit mortify the deeds of the body, I will live. So in seasons of distress and grief, let this be my song unto God: You're never gonna let, never gonna let me down... 🎵
Oh wow I love the way you put what a lure is and what it looks like if we take the bait and what temptation is and what sin is. I wish you would put a list of all those scenarios and give more examples like that so we can tell what those are.
Very timely video. Powerful illustration.
Needed this so much today thank you
Love it!!! Thank you! HalleluYah
Nice. I liked the format and the metaphor. My wife liked the subtle banjo. We both liked the lesson. Happy sabbath!
Great video! Thank you & God bless you 🙏🏼💙
dude ...love fishun .... and we need to go sometime
Thank you, your channel is a blessing!
Pray for me not to give into the sin part of my flesh.
Unfortunately, there are times I am weak and I give in to the temptation.
This was a great example.
I appreciate all the wisdom you share Lex. Recently I was attacked online by someone who claims to be an Israelite and how the Bible and salvation isn’t for anyone other than Gods chosen people. I’m not the only one whom he’s done this to there are many others. He uses mainly Matthew 15:24 and a few other verses. I was hoping maybe you could do a video on this as he claims Israel has never rejected Yeshua so therefore we have no hope. I don’t buy into it but he’s certainly convinced other Christians of this
Romans 10:13 "Whosoever" and then point out when Messiah met the Centurion, he had greater faith than all of Yisrael! HalleluYAH brother, thanks for trying. hasatan is working overtime in these last days.
Jesus said, "go and preach the Good News that the kingdom of heaven is at hand. First to the Jews, then to the Gentiles". Isaiah even prophesied that one day Gentiles will recline with Jews at the table for the Feast of Tabernacles. But the guy is correct, salvation is only for those God has chosen. Albeit this guy's understanding of the passage is skewed - the verse in Matthew does say exactly that, but if he'd keep on reading and consider the context of the verse with the rest of the verses above and below it - Jesus commends the Gentile woman for her faith and says it is her faith that restored her.
Also, what he states is confirmed untrue in several other places. Here are a few examples which refute his claim: John 6:44 "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day"
2 Timothy 1:9 "Who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began"
1 Corinthians 1:26 "For consider your calling, brothers: not many of you were wise according to the worldly standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth"
God determines who is called. Gentiles were called long before Matthew penned that line and long before that guy misrepresented the verse to you and so many others. He'll have to give an account at the day of judgement for the words he spoke. Pray for him that he finds the forgiveness and understanding of the verse and that he restores the people he led astray. I'd like to reach out to this person...how can I find where you came across him??
lastly: 2 Peter 1:10-11 "Therefore, brothers, be all the more diligent to confirm your calling and election, for if you practice these qualities you will never fall. For in this way there will be richly provided for you an entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."
Good word Lex!! Well said. 😇✌️
Please all, pray for my daughter Nicole Addo. She was admitted for a week. Please pray for hey not to get sick again. Thank you.
Thanks
Thank you for making this🧡 i needed this 🧡🙋🏾♂️👏🏾
Great video love you brother🙏👍🏽
Yes AMEN think you for sharing all of GOD'S HOLY WORD , a blessing this message was , thinks .
Great video Lex!
Perfect as usual. I find your videos very easy to watch and I have much to learn. I finally moved from a pond to a lake!
Makes me think of the horror movie 'The wailing'...the bait is casted at the start of the movie.
good stuff I'm so glad I found your videos 😊❤️
Thank you Lex i needed to hear this. Today i had the chance to talk to some Sunday keepers, one stayed the rest left as soon as I mention that pork is still unclean. We went back and forth , then He asked me how long have i been studying and attending church, i said "about 2 years" then he had the nerve to say "oh thats nothing you need more time". I told Him "what do you mean by that? I can clearly keep a conversation with you of any verse you are talking about .
That really up set me to the point I was kinda angry but i knew in my heart that God knows I'm just trying to bring fellow brothers to the truth. I thank you Lex knowing i didnt let the enemy lure me into his hook, peace be with you .
Hearing they don't understand seeing they don't perceive. The message of this video is about hooks and bait. Don't fall into the lawkeeping trap. Don't be stuck at the letter or christ is of no benefit to you. You'll then be judged by the letter after you die instead of judged by if you have the blood of christ at atonement for your sins
Which lawkeeping do you refer ?
@@elliesilva1907 that’s not how it works
@@elliesilva1907 You say "don't fall into the law-keeping trap", but Peter explicitly warned Christians in his epistle to beware of ppl who sell disobedience as freedom. Despite what "Christians" think, Christ's blood can only reconcile a sinner to God(Rom. 5:10, Rev. 5:9). It does not give you a license to sin with impunity.
Don't let self righteousness take you, either. Our righteousness is as filthy rags, being obedient doesn't make us better, we all need Messiah. I struggle with this as well.
Thank you brother I appreciate your videos. I shared one on my UA-cam channel. May many be given the eyes to see and the ears to hear the Father's truth. 🌼
Thanks so your video
Great examples Lex, thank you for this teaching moment, very good. :) Easily understood.
Agree with this video. Pretty sure the devil has got most people around the world though. Kuddo's to you for trying to teach people the truth.
Very helpful.
needed that
A simple but great video.
Amen!
As a fisherman yes you can catch (attract) a fish with just a "shinning" hook. If you pull the hook at the right speed and pattern, yes you catch a fish. Not all of them, but some of them.
Think about it.
Loved the lesson Lex
Just so you know. It is possible to get fish with no bait. We used to go fishing in the Panama canal in the 70s and 80s and if the fish (esp peacock bass) are aggressive enough that day they will hit and fight over a bare eagle claw fish hook. Used minnows most days but at least 20 percent of the time we used bare hooks. I loved living there, year long summer 😁😁😁
good wisdom brother
wow
The bait is everlasting life, Don't give your soul to the one who is jealous,
Thank you!
👍🏼
Well said
Who else got an ad for Tamera loves prosperity gospel kingdom builders life online course to be the next Joel ?
I got a vanity bait in my ad... diet something or other.
And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.
And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me
And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.
Matthew 14:28-32
No matter how bad it looks to you, always focus on the Lord.
Only when you focus on the storm will you then start to sink.
All storms are created by The LORD to help you learn to focus.
I never thought I'd see you dressed as a sleuth and now as a fisherman 🪝 🐟
🎣 🦦 What will it be next? The object lessons really drill in the point. Quite a departure from ur serious persona. 🕊️😊
Great video!
Luke 7:47
Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little.
1 John 2:12
I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name's sake.
Great video
This is very informative and funny at the same time lol. God bless!
👍
Hi, I would love to have your views on "three days of darkness" so many are saying after it people will be raptured. I don't believe in the whole teaching of rapture anymore. I would love to hear what you think. The Catholic church has put out teaching about it. I can't see many torah teachers talking about it. Maybe you have made a video on it, I'm not great at finding things online. Shalom brother 🙏
What should i do if my parent forces me to take psych pills or sends me to the ward ???? Ans is not a believer??
What do you do when you’ve felt the Holy Spirit has left?
Pray. Commit yourself to Him. Read His Word.
Hey Cody. Not sure if I can help at all, but I'm happy to talk with you. I too have had this struggle for a few years now. Most people have no idea what I'm even talking about. Here's a brief synopsis of my walk: The day I truly repented and broke down, I was filled. It was like the Bible just opened up. I could find any verse, I was full of love and joy, I was writing great songs of praise, I had a complete desire to learn and study...It was truly amazing. After about a year, it all just kind of faded out. I didn't feel like I was connected anymore. I have prayed, fasted, and constantly asked God to show me what I did wrong. So far, I still don't know. What I do know is that we're told not to grieve the Holy Spirit (Eph 4:30) - I don't believe I have blasphemed the Spirit, because I still want to love God with all my heart. This is just my flesh speaking now, but I feel like this is a test to see who will remain faithful. It's a temptation by the enemy to see if I'll quit, and give up because I don't feel the way I did. So, instead of giving in to that temptation, I just try to always remember 1 Thessalonians 5:18 "In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." -- If I'm thanking Him for everything, regardless of the circumstance, then I know I'm doing His will. I just pray that Father will renew the Spirit, fully convert me, and give me the heart of flesh I need to love Him with everything I have. -- If you ever want to talk about it, feel free to reach out. Stay strong brother, and remember, "But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved." (Mat 24:13)
👍🏻🙏🏻😀
Dead on the money brother
I didn't take the Bait, but just realized it.
I was going to town, back roads, no street lights. Trick is flashing Lights, but is blinding me. That usually means cop ahead, wreck ahead. But I don't see any lights, as in a car wreck or cop. All of a sudden, there's some ignorant fool, on a Zero turn mower, with 2-3 small kids on it, no flashlight, nothing. They were trying to scramble, but they had a 4 foot ditch, that would've made great cover actually, but the kids were being pulled on to the adult, if it was one. All I saw was lil feet n legs. I barely missed killing them all. But it scared me and I did yell out GD before I realized it. But, I thanked Yeshua and God numerous times then, later and the next day. My fault or not, I wouldn't survive killing children.
Hello Lex. I have a couple of questions unrelated to this videos topic but curious to see if you'll address these questions in another video. It's a topic I've not heard you discuss before. Before you read the questions I'm not accusing you a making any such claims yourself. These are challenging questions that will make people very uncomfortable.
As Americans we are often told in our churches this nation is particularly blessed by God, that through God's will this nation has been a beacon of liberty, fighting tyranny and oppressive regimes throughout our country's history. Do you agree with so many of your fellow American Christians that we are doing the work Jesus wants by fighting wars and killing people in the name of freedom? Do you believe God is fighting alongside our soldiers as they wage war with carnel weapons against our nations enemies? The biblical standard to demonstrate God approves of a military campaign is the enemy is engaged and soundly defeated in one single battle. If you disagree with that statement can you show any biblical support for why that statement is incorrect? For example we spent nearly 20 years in Afghanistan incurring thousands of casualties before basically giving up which couldn't possibly be mistaken as anything but a humiliating defeat. But even the wars we've won in the past took extended lengths of time, proving God was not fighting with us, including our Revolutionary War and World War II. But whether we've won or lost, the protracted length of the campaigns also proves God wasn't fighting for the other side either. I was in the US Army for 4 years and used to believe the very things I'm now questioning. Thanks for your time.
I appreciate any replies you or other readers have though I hope people would refrain from name-calling or accusations and simply address the questions I've asked.
The bible also says that God will remain faithful after we have accepted him even if we continually sin; and that our salvation does not depends on our lifestyle:
Timothy 2:13: "if we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself."
Romans 4:4-5: "But to him that works not, but believes on him that justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
Romans 10:9: "that if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."
It is crystal clear. OSAS is the only truth.
but when you walk in any prayer or the spirit you just keep catch God sized L's ... I honestly am starting to truly understand we don't have to pray at all just do what the Torah says Yah doesn't need to hear anything from us cause he doesn't do anything for us we have to do for ourselves ... I've seen miracles happen to other but I have not experienced any of my own. so your point was heard but i don't agree with it
That's a weird looking fishing outfit haha
Lex I have always inspired and in joy but please take this as advice not trying to take away from you or your work but for my you need to go back to the original format off your program. We not need a show with all love and respect from your brother in Christ
I don't know Lex, I expected more from this video. I am just basing myself on your previous videos. They usually have a lot of meat from the Word, but not this one. I am somewhat disappointed.
This video is beyond ridiculous. Most of the illustrations of sin you provided are not listed as sin anywhere in the Torah.
A better example of the lure and bait would be, do you buy sell, talk your own way, or travel significant distances on the Sabbath. Or do you give money to your local rabbi/priest instead of giving to widow and orphans. Or do you buy luxury items and covet?
Those are actually better examples of sin as opposed to getting mad in a car or seeing an indecent picture on your phone.
Satan is the better option than an absent deity who's preacher are hate mongers preaching bible bigotry.
Thank you
Man Lex, I really love the way you teach. Super easy to understand and all biblically accurate stuff. Keep it up!!
Thanks brother
Amen
Thank you
Thank you
Thank you
