I just picked up my 2025 BMW m440i x drive in Brooklyn Grey, black leather, carbon fibre interior, glass controls.
386 hp, 399 ft pounds. It is incredible. As an iPad, iPhone fan boy, I love the digital controls. This car is fast, sophisticated, the new grill makes it look serious and bad ass. It's truly gorgeous and wicked fast.

absolutely agree : physical controls for temperature are way better and safer ! Bring them back please...
I understand the critic with the optic of the grill but despite this design this car has prompted me to order my first ever BMW: a M440i X Drive convertible. I like the fact that it is unique.
It is unique indeed; a gorgeous car.
Vertical kidney grill seen in the M440 is retro, historic. Check out 1938 BMW 328 Roadster. The grill is change, change is good. I’m now a fan. Plus, it totally sets apart the 4 from the herd. Good or bad, it gets noticed, which is kinda the point of owning a sports coupé.
ATM I have a '24 loaded BMW M440i XDrive in Artic Race Blue Metallic that just left the factory and is at the port!! This my 1st BMW. Great review of the car, looks like what i ordered. You hit a lot of the features that were buying points. 🎉
This car is very nice on the outside. On the inside it’s so outdated vs Mercedes. What’s with the outdated sunroof?! BMW upgrade this to Panoramic sunroof and this car will convert MB drivers. MB CLE450 smokes this on interior. And I get it…BMW isn’t luxury but you can make it luxury like an AMG line at least. I hate those butt print grilles. 😂 they should have left the old grilles.
YES! You're absolutely right 703, physical controls are BETTER! So much easier to use when operating a moving vehicle. Eliminating climate buttons is regression, not progression.
I have the 2024 and prefer on the screen. It makes it all minimal and clean.
We have this car, same color, from 2022, and we LOVE it. Fun, safe and gorgeous, what's not to love ❤
Physical controls. Eyes on the road, not flicking through menus.

Thanks for an awesome review! I was looking for a fun, capable, and sporty car and being a BMW fan (this is my fourth BMW), the m440i caught my eye. Your review gave me a good feel for what it might be like having this is a daily driver. I ended up finding one and love it! By the way, the on-screen HVAC controls aren’t bad. It’s one button to access them, and they are quite large and easy to control. Coming from a Tesla, I find the controls are actually easier! Keep up the good work-subscribed!
In 2019 at Frankfort auto show, hated front grill of Concept-4 car. Thought of Monstro the whale. Now, I like it. Separates the 440 from the herd of Bimmers. So…I just ordered the 2025 M440i xDrive.

You literally just picked how I would spec mine in this gorgeous color and I do agree with you about the m4 looking like the m8 coupe but I gotta get on to bmw about this grille because it looks like beaver teeth or nostrils 😂

I ended up buying an M240 xdrive last month. It has everything the M440 has except an electric boot and is £10k cheaper. It’s also 150kg lighter and doesn’t have that large grille which I don’t like. Great review 👍🇬🇧
400hp is absolutely plenty.. this car can do 0-60 if 4 seconds all day long.. most people will never drive the car to it’s full potential. This thing is a big winner and would keep me from buying the full M models

It should be illegal to make cars without physical controls for climate/audio. Too much driver distraction. It's irresponsible.

I have the 2023 version of this car, and the rear tires are 255 on 19" wheels.
The new toggle shifter and screen ruined this car....having a perfoamce BMW without a gear shift? The 21-23 cockpits were perfect the way they were. The attempt at modernizing was a miss.
I agree. The 21-23’s are the best. I think a lot of people feel the same way
The 24 440i xdrive system can't be upgraded to 8.5.etc - The necessary hardware wasn't included in the factory config and can't be added. The "optioned" $1k adaptive headlights should be standard equipment too
Mine is configured the same for exterior except for wheels and I’m about to pick it up on March 2024 🥳 and I like AC control on the screen more. I mean how many times u manipulate this, not much for me. And it makes the dashboard more clean let’s say and elegant 🙂
I currently drive a '21 Audi S5 and have owned a MB C43...really liking this car though. Going to give it a good look when the time comes to get a new car.
It is definitely worth the look. BMW is my favorite German brand
How is the s5 in comparison to the c43?
@@Slime_threezus The ride and acceleration in the S5 is much smoother although the engine in the c43 has more "growl". I would get another s5 before a new c43 since they are all 4 cyl now :(
Had the 18 S5 and now the 24 m440. I would say the Audi was more comfortable but the BMW more fun. Close call, like them both. Also had a 22 840 but 440 much more fun IMO
When will UA-cam car reviewers review baseline models? All these upgrades give us false hope/FOMO for these great features, but they all add up. I wanna see reviews of baseline models to show the cheaper options.

I too agree. I had the previous generation which was great! Now you have to fiddle with the screen and take your eyes off the road! A real shame. Fabulous car so PLEASE BMW bring back those buttons along with your new screen.
I own a 2022 M440i in the UK. Here, at the time, it came standard with xDrive and Adaptable Suspension, M Sport Diff. Interestingly the tyres fitted as standard are 225/40 R19 front, and 255/35 R19 rear. Are you sure they put the same tyres all round on the 2024 model?
Other than that I also prefer the physical buttons for climate control, favourites etcetera. Trying to navigate the screen while driving is too distracting. It's almost certainly cheaper to produce.
Yeah, I’m fine with digital climate controls - where technology is taking all brands. “New” takes time to learn and adjust.
Bmw took it back to t he 1920s anf paid homage to the past with a modern twist i love it own a m440i its the reason why i brought i bmw the smaller kidney was always the same the reason why i am first time bmw owner
I'd like a convertible one in adventure red but I don't want to order a brand new one with the bigger screen and there are barely any used ones for sale in that colour

Nice review!! One question for you. This m440i has the same size of tires front and rear, right? Meaning the rims also the same size front and rear?
So I can’t put 255/35 R/19 on the rear unless I buy a bigger size of rims for that. What do you think ?
Thank you.. I think you would probably be okay running just the bigger tire on the rear. You just wouldn’t be able to rotate your tires

5:24 Where is the “M-logo” that is normally on the left and right sides of the front fenders ?
The M logo is only on the actual M4
@@703Speed On my BMW M440i Coupe here in Germany there are (not 2024). After all, they were there even on regular models if taken with the M sport package. I don't see why on an M model like the M440i there shouldn't be.
I have a 2024 M440i in Toronto. It has the M logos on each side.
@@sunnygill4363 So it is not as he says that there are only on the M4 ? Then likely in America, unlike here in Germany, the situation is a little different.
I recently bought a M340iX. Took it in for for service and got aM440iX as a loaner. I was absolutely blown away how much softer the suspension was. The 440iX weight distribution was not nearly as centered, and there was more body roll in the corners in sport plus, than in comfort mode in the 340iX. Felt like a fake BMW made for a grandmother. 440 is also super weak with the exhaust noise. NO pops or bangs. SOOOO happy with my purchase. I cannot believe the 440 costs more.

I’d buy the M4 for $70,000+ dollars, instead you could just but a 430xi for $40,000 and throw on JB+ and after 2 minutes of installing your 4 cylinder BMW is on par with the M440i in terms of speed. Faster than the RWD M440i, yet a bit slower than the Xdrive M440i.
