I’m barely getting into my first raspberry pi project and this video has greatly helped me with a lot of questions. Thank you for making it. If it’s not too much of a bother, I was wondering if you could answer a question for me: What if I want to control the raspberry pi from my iPhone? Is there a way I can connect to it via Bluetooth? Any information you have is greatly appreciated
Why don't you try running a server with an API on raspberry and create an app on the iphone? Then you send requests to the raspberry from the iphone app.
I got my Pi Zero hardware all fixed up but not sure what to do next? Where and how do you start seeing all this stuff on a screen? Is it connected to a laptop where the hdmi would be connected?
The Pi Zero is its own computer, so you need to connect it to a monitor or TV that has HDMI connection using the mini-HDMI to HDMI adapter and standard HDMI cable. Hope this helps.
Nice review of the Raspberry Pi Zero. I need to know if this is capable of doing some image processing using an USB connected camera. I am trying to make a machine vision system that uses a camera connected via USB to capture images, the images are processed using OpenCV, and using some logic, GPIOs on the Pi will be turned ON or OFF. The application is simple enough, but I need to know if the Pi can handle this. I hope to implement all this in Python to reduce the complexity. There will not be any other applications running on the Pi.
I'm curious about one thing. If the wifi password was incorrect due to an issue with the keyboard setup, wouldn't the default loginID have also likely had an incorrect password? Or maybe more accurately, once you set up the keyboard properly, wouldn't the previous password have been incorrect? Other than that, this seems like a good tutorial for absolute beginners (which I am). I'll be coming back and revisiting this video when I get my Vilros kit later this week.
You saw him type joesnetwork without trouble... as he mentioned, it was special characters in the password. Good sleuthing in any case buddy. Enjoying your Pi?
You should be connecting the Raspberry Pi Zero directly to a monitor so you can see the output and not directly to your laptop/computer. I hope this answers your question.
@@ZadiusTech Thank you. But, do you mean an outlet connected to my computer? Here are some pictures that I am referring to. www.screencast.com/t/rZrW77YjKI don't have that. I am following another video. Thank you though. keep up the good work.👍
Please Reply Raspberry Pi zero W ( support recommended software ?) Raspberry Pi OS with desktop and recommended software and Raspberry Pi OS (Legacy) with desktop and recommended software which which supported ?
I have followed your tutorial and many other ones online. For some reason I keep running into the same error. Whenever I try to set up the wireless LAN I get the error "no wireless interface found". I can confirm that my board is actually a W, it says so on the PCB, and also in raspi-config I can see "Raspberry Pi Zero W Rev 1.1". I have also tried the headless setup method with a wpa_supplicant.conf file. Do you have any idea what the issue would be? Again, it's not that I can't connect to a wifi network, it's that the Pi doesn't even recognize the wireless interface (!)
Hello there, did you fix it? I am having quite a similar problem. The difference is that my wlan0 stays always DOWN and i cannot find any networks around me. I tried all that you say you tried too. Only issue is that I am doing this from a ssh through usb connection.
@@ZadiusTech Thank you for the help, but im going to buy a seperate screen with hdmi input to make it easier in my project. I appreciate the help tho ! :)
Thanks @zadius Tech for this tutorial !! I'm about to set up my Raspberry Pi Zero W for the first time. One small question, I don't have an USB keyboard atm, can I connect my bluetooth keywboard to the raspberry pi and perform the initial setup ? Thanks !
I think at least for the initial setup you need a USB keyboard, I ran into the same problem and ended up just using a USB keyboard for initial setup and then after that I was able to setup bluetooth and use a bluetooth keyboard/mouse.
It depends on your project, if you will always have it hooked up to a computer via USB cable then you don't need it, however if you need to place your Raspberry Pi Zero somewhere away from a computer and need to always have it on, then a power plug is recommended.
Use the included microUSB to USB adapter to connect your keyboard. You can also get a 2.4Ghz Wireless keyboard and mouse. If you didn't get the adapter in the kit or want to get a wireless keyboard/mouse let me know I can recommend one.
i hot glued my board down to the case ..wish i would have known to download the program on the sd before i did that..idk how im going to get this thing out...
Hi Eddy, for connecting Raspberry Pi Zero to your TV use this adapter: amzn.to/333iKVK, for connecting it to your monitor (assuming you have a VGA connection) use this adapter: amzn.to/2DFW3OS
Hi, I am aware that I typed an extra w, but if you type wwww.yahoo.com on your web browser it still resolves and takes you to the yahoo website so that wasn't the issue.
Hey buddy please help me , I don't have HDMI port & VGA port in my Monitor could you please help me how could I able to connect to my Monitor (Acer tablet)
you won't be able to connect the Raspberry Pi to your tablet as a monitor, I recommend you get this small monitor that is meant to be used with the Raspberry Pi: amzn.to/2GAhxh4 and you'll also need this video adapter for the Raspberry Pi Zero: amzn.to/2SqXm8g

Why don't you ask Apple if they can give you proprietary code hahahahah
Great video to get started. Good troubleshooting on the keyboard layout issue - probably saved me some headache!!
Thank god they updated the software. It is so much easier now
I especially appreciate the heads up on the keyboard layout! Had a similar problem with the Raspberry pi Pico.
yeah that keyboard layout thing had me stuck for a while until I figured out the problem.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! Loved this video fam.

Hi. I want to ask. What should I do if the Raspbian does not pop up in my laptop's screen? Do you know any solution to fix this ?
You should be connecting the Raspberry Pi Zero directly to a monitor so you can see the output and not directly to your laptop.
Owhh I see thank you for your guide. Recently, I found the solution. I just using VNC instead the HDMI cable.
So does the raspberry pi desktop version make the raspberry work like a desktop or is there other programs need to make it work properly.
Do you have any videos on add how to setup waveshare ethernet/usb hub hat
Just bought this kit, going to make a pi-hole project with this :)
What computer did you use? (PS. I looked at the description and watched the video several times TBH).

Can I hotglue the GPIO pins at the bottom of the raspberry pi if I dont have the hammer thing or a solder station?
No, you can't just hotglue the GPIO pins, they are really meant to be soldered. You can get this soldering kit for cheap here: amzn.to/2YbE4d6

Dremel the side of the case where the card is inside? No dremel: heat a knife or safety pin with a torch or on the stove and pierce the plastic.

How long will the last part keep running after it is connected to the wifi?
The raw ping command on a Pi runs forever. To get it to just try 5 times type "ping -c5 www.yahoo.com"
This take around 5 seconds.
