- The new Jurassic Park movie has Gareth Edwards to direct and David Koepp, the writer of the first movie and Lost World back. Some other news involves the story filming in Hawaii possibly and now Dewanda Wise has said that she may not be returning after Dominion. No idea on what species of dinosaurs are going to be in this new evolution of the franchise but T.rex and Raptors are a good bet.

@@billbolton7108 I remember reading on their "dinosaur protection group" site that the official statement was the island was dino-free since 2005(?), but reports suggested the opposite. If there's another sequel, it may be on that island(or one of the five).

The problem with Dewanda's character was she was effectively Han Solo, but then they tried to double-up the character with Pratt's protagonist character (to the point of literally mirroring movements in the pyro stand-off), rather than keep her the Lovable-Rogue trope.
The irony is in a movie without Pratt, her character would actually work, whereas it was redundant as a more major character in dominion as written.
Would love a more book accurate adaptation.
They're just gonna completely wipe the World Trilogy from canon, aren't they? Just like what everyone wants Disney to do with the Star Wars Sequels.

Maybe they could bring it back (probably not this next movie but a few after) with a sort of “hey we thought it’d be fine but actually the ecosystems are collapsing, and we missed some megatherapods in the forest” maybe? Admittedly I have no idea what they could do plot wise but maybe they could do SOMETHING to make it make more sense or at least be closer to the original message of Jurassic Park. Regardless I’d prefer an old style prequel anyways so I don’t mind what this info is suggesting.

I'd love to see a movie set between JP3 and JW, or if they do a sequel, I'd love to see dinosaurs 🦕 be dinosaurs again, and I'd love to see Tim and Lex as grown ups and give their characters a proper closure.
Let's see them stocking the aviary on Sorna. Let's see people evacuating Sorna during the hurricane and leaving the dinosaurs to fend for themselves. Let's see the cleanup effort of Nublar before World. Maybe I'm boring, but seeing scenes like that would be awesome.
At this point, I'd rather have Dominion removed from canon. That movie was laughably bad and so frustrating on so many levels.
I disagree. I don't think it's nearly as bad as Fallen Kingdom and/or JW1. besides, Camp Cretaceous so far has been the worst part of this entire franchise.
It had a lot of great dinosaurs. But the movie pulled its punches. The constant Giga trivia and the bloated cast made the movie rather hard to follow and take seriously.
@@ShadowPhoenixMaximus I thought it was just as good on an objective level as JP3. JW & FK had worse character development and dumber things going on. Dominion has it weak moments, that’s for sure, but I’m no way do I think it did anything worse than the previous two films.

After what happened with dominion I am all for a new movie I am hoping for a more of man vs dinosaurs what Jurassic should also be in that there can't be coexistence that's just my 2 cents on what they could do.
100% agree. Let's just hope that Keopp can make it out so that us the humans were just trying to bury our heads in the sand with the coexistance dismisal. If he does do that then he may actually be able to improve on Dominion as a whole.
1 idea make a movie where they now capture dinos all around the world and bring them back to 1 of the islands we have never seen on film that would be very cool man 🙂+ the mosa just chilling with bluewhales would never ever happen in real life it would scare them away and from time to time get eaten and ruin the whole sea ecosystem
I assume the mosa was being curious, around the whales, wondering if it can eat them or avoid them? Just as sharks can be curious around people, but they wouldn’t eat whoever it is, cause naturally they don’t. But the filmmakers should address that it eats whales. Just so it doesn't seem like its friends wiv whales.

What the end of Dominion proved was that Colin Trevorrow was never able to realize the concept of a Jurassic World. I'm grateful for 3 movies but other than forced callbacks and the original score, there was nothing that was quintessentially Jurassic. I guess we can ask the same of all of the movies. What is the strength of this franchise at its core?
I loved TLW but forgave the flaws as a dino loving 13 year old who just wanted to see dino action. But sadly none of the sequels really hits the spot.
Gotta hand it to Justice Smith. Detective Pikachu, Dungeons & Dragons, and 2 Jurassic films. He's doing something right.

So, I'm not really concerned about a possible prequel film, it would be exciting, but I would be interested in learning what sort of dynamic shifts they would make with John Hammond. Any Jurassic film has to have violence, death and chaos, so a prequel film would have to deal with those issues while explaining why those incidents did not cause the failure of Jurassic Park before the firt OFFICIAL raptor death that occurred on screen way back in 1993. So I guess my question is: would they make John Hammond out to be more sinister like in the novels than what we were led to believe in the first and second films, and if so how do they justify that dynamic change in character?

The next Jurassic movie should be a prequel and have it take place in not only Isla Sorna but the rest of the Cinco Muertes (Five Deaths). Like you said in a video last year that the lore behind InGen and Isla Sorna are limitless. There's still stories to tell on that island as well as the rest of the Five Deaths.

The thought of co existence with dinosaurs is completely absurd like it’s simply not possible dinosaurs take up way to many resources and are so big that humans wouldn’t survive like it’s not a bobcat in your backyard it’s a raptor or a migrating heard of brachiosaurus the amount of destruction they would cause to human civilizations would be crazy
I honestly don't want another movie set on an island. We've already had four films set on an island, I'd like to see another mainland film set in the wilderness. Maybe something to do with DFW or another wildlife agency tracking down poachers.

I really wish that we'd get a brand new story. While I love the books, original movies as well as the Jurassic World saga. It's time for something new, because the storyline is becoming a little stale at this point. They have a lot of cards to play, instead of turning it into another action spy movie.

I hope this new movie has some good kills and dinosaur action and I really want them to make a movie about dinosaurs terrorizing the mainland but it seems like this new movie may be a prequel
Lately, I've taken to watching The Battle of Big Rock Short AFTER finishing Dominion on the infrequent occasion I decide to watch it. Its a better postscript to the idea of dinosaurs roaming America, and the rest of the world, and the dangers posed by that premise. And it pushes against Charlotte Lockwood's coexistence message (which she *really* could not have known would be relevant to a post-dinosaur breakout Earth).
One other way they can work with the post-Fallen Kingdom premise is an anthology series showing people surviving in remote places and hinting at wider consequences for the modern Cenozoic ecosystem suffering because of the invasive species. Cast members like DeWanda Wise and Omar Sy could be involved in such a series, but that remains just a pipe dream.
They need to erase the whole "World" trilogy as just someone's playing of a VR game with Chris Pratt as the main character..

I am honestly hoping the island scenes are flash backs or if they are doing a island movie I hope it’s a prequel building/beginning of Jurassic Park. I concur on the message Honestly the only two scenes amazing scenes in Dominion were the Pyroraptor and the the Therizinosaurus and two alpha predators scene. I loved the Therizinosaurus scene and two alpha predators scenes because of how cool it was and it was showing dinosaurs being dinosaurs. I also loved them showing a dinosaur with feathers and surviving in the cold. Like most of us I would be down with something a little darker more like Fallen Kingdom meets battle at Big Rock, or something like the scene dominion where dinosaurs are dinosaurs. I think where dominion fell short was stepping away from Michael Crichton originally messaging of we don’t control everything and we are bringing about our own destruction and that you can’t tame something wild that we know very little about, also the story was way too convoluted/ too much going on at once: Saving Maisie, Giant Locust/ Trying to control agricultural markets, black market/poaching , evil capitalism, and Coexistence with dinosaurs. Just stick to what works a survival story with dinosaurs being dinosaurs.
I quite like that it does not follow on from Dominion. Something new and different that is not held down by direct sequelitis.

Today I read they were going to cancel the movie, and now I see this video... so many rumors, change of director, change of name. There are some short suspense and horror videos I watched on a UA-cam channel that are better than Dominion. Honestly, like everyone else, we want Jurassic Park back.

Nah, it's literally filming in Malta this June. That's a pretty big connection to Dominion.
I was not the biggest fan of Dominion, but I wouldn't mind a return of her character. She was the new character I actually really liked and would enjoy seeing more of! So it does kinda suck that she's not returning, but I am excited for whats to come. Remaining cautiously optimistic for the future.

I think they should divide the movies into legacy canon (jp1,2and 3) and reboot canon (jw1,2 and 3) Then forget about the reboot canon and make movies set in the legacy universe
Give us a horror themed movie, taking place during the 1993 nublar incident, having it be the view from the remaining members of the skeleton crew as they slowly get taken out over time by the dinosaurs as they have to try and make it to either an INGEN ship, or call in a rescue helicopter like JP2.

It's too bad they couldn't retcon with this movie taking place after fallen kingdom, and before dominion (in the retcon as if dominion didn't happen) and go with the humans trying to survive in a jurassic WORLD. Maybe have a character come in as the son of Roland Tembo hunting the Dinosaurs around the world, picking up the mantle from his father.

You might as well. Dominion did nothing to change the state of the world after Fallen Kingdom, so the ending of Fallen Kingdom is still the state of the story; dinosaurs loose in the world. Fallen Kingdom literally is still the end point, Dominion moved nothing forward.

I think certain dinosaurs like herbivores could coexist with humans and animals while the carnivores are the ones to be concerned about with people running for their lives by accidentally encountering them, they could try doing it like that going forward

They should go. The creation of the Spino, then the hurricane on Site B and the aftermath. Perhaps even include some one of the other 5 deaths which were shown in The Lost World. I always felt like they were aiming for that anyway but dropped it. And for the love of god, make it horror again.. my 10 and 6 yo love Jurassic World but are to scared to see Jurassic Park...
