Haha. Thats funny. I worked as a mover for 3 years. U dont need to practice at home. U can just practice while yur at work while wrapping several furnitures.

Simple and very useful. Wish I had follow these simple steps when I picked up furniture. My stuff was looking 100% gorgeous and now looking 50-60% because I never padded it up and wrap it. So now I know better.

As a thirty five year mover your videos are the best that I have seen out there. You certainly know how to do it and how to instruct others as well as to "why" something should be done a specific way. It's good to see someone offering truly professional instruction! Good Luck and much success- from "An old stick stacking brother of the burlap, & Potentate of the Interstate and savior of the endangered bed bug!

Im 17 and been working as a mover doing long distances, miltarie, and locals for 3 years now and have been using bands for 2 years and in this case he did a good job folding but i would recommend using a large green band and done an X type of wrap around it and u couldve saved yourself from using 2-3 small bands. I used to get yelled alot as a newbie for using more than I needed lol just a heads up for anyone starting

    Respect for your work there
I just have to say is half ways done
You have to protect the feet as well otherwise isn't complete.
    I'll give u a 8/10 padding your furniture

Lol just STOP. It is not halfway done. The pad is level with the feet or bottom. The bottom or back of the dresser is not the priority.

@@jarodestes1491 true, but it is for sliding purposes. Sliding may not be an intention but may be required. Having the feet/bottom edges covered will help prevent scratching or scuffing

So you slide your dollie across the floor to get it under the piece? Floor repairs are expensive.

the technique is good for ground floor moves, using one band and shrink will be optimal for stairs and two men sized items, just my opinion.

do these big rubber bands have another name? As in if I were to buy them some places what should I refer to them as? Can they be bought at a hardware store?

This is absolute bare minimum padding. The piece is covered for now but there is nothing securing the pad to the feet. If you did this in an upstairs bedroom and carried it down stairs it would not make it like that.

I worked as a Mover for 3 years and based on my experience Wrapping Furnitures etc... is common sense. You dont need training for it unless your dumb.

I would hate to have you move my furniture ! You didn’t even cover the legs , that dresser with undo when loading into trailer you had run bands long ways as well and making sure pad goes around feet so that they don’t get scratched.

Rubber bands also break over time. Stack furnitures so close to others that rubber bands CAN cause frictions against other bands.

...which is why I prefer to shrink wrap the blanket on. It's a good start up video to show new employees about the concept of furniture-care and how far we can go to protect the furniture and ourselves as well.

Tape will always hold better than bands. And never use a 2 wheeler on furniture. I've seen so many dressers get wrecked on the bottom that way. I think it's crazy when I see movers using 2 wheelers on hardwood floors. Or up/down a flight of stairs. They don't know what they are doing.

Richard Heinz u probably havnt been moving furniture very long if you advise not using a dolly. A great dolly is the key to longevity in this career.

I don't advise using a dolly on stairs unless the piece is just too damn heavy. In all other circumstances I would recommend using a dolly.

I just started a moving business with furniture. Your video does not show how to protect the base. I see lots of furniture damage at the bases, especially when trying to tip over into moving truck by previous people. You mist show how to protect the bottom all around. You get 3 stars for this because all it takes is one very pissed off customer.
