The murder of 10 year old Amy Mihalavek in Bay village Ohio in 1989. I never forgot that case. I remember seeing her picture everywhere at my highschool (Lakewood highschool), when she was still just missing. With advancements I'm DNA, I'm actually surprised that it's still unsolved.
I’m still a little stuck on the guy (Hampton, I think) who committed a murder while wearing a tracking device, but still didn’t get arrested for it for over 10 years.
We had a cold case solved here in Opelika, Alabama. They got the identity of Opelika Jane Doe, a little girl who was now found to be a murder victim and her dad did it. They found it out in January 2023.
The one thing I find sad about cold cases being solved is that even if the culprit is arrested or identified, there are some cases where the victims family members pass away before that happens. That always makes me feel sad for them
It's truly heartbreaking when justice comes too late for the loved ones of the victims. The emotional toll and the passage of time can be incredibly tough on families. While closure is important, it's a bittersweet reality that some may not witness the resolution. Sending heartfelt thoughts to all those affected by the enduring pain of unsolved cases.
I remember when I first heard about the Gilgo Beach Killer, I was shocked that the police were finally able to catch him considering how long it been sense the murders. I’m glad to see that we finally caught this monster.
My biological mother has been missing since 1992. She was supposed to testify against my biological father in a federal case. We don't know if he killed her or if she was taken into protective custody and put into the witness protection program.
As somebody from the midwest, I would like to see the case of the missing Iowa newspaper boys- Johnny Gosch & Eugene Martin solved & also the case of missing Iowa newsanchor Jodi Huisentruit!
How about a video on the Texas Killing Fields? At least three suggested serial killers in the same area between Houston and Galveston since the 1970's.
@@missdeejay Edward Harold Bell in the 1970's, the chief for Webster PD at the time botched one of the suspected cases at the time and sent an innocent stoner to prison. The chief got arrested a decade later for a spree of bank robberies in Frisco near Dallas. Bell bragged about the killings, but did not get convicted any of the cases, died in prison on the unrelated murder of Pasadena resident Larry Dickson. Clyde Hedrick in the mid 1980's, a creep that actually preyed upon his stepdaughter, got convicted for Ellen Beason's murder, but there's at least four other women he's suspected of killing. The one lone conviction, former construction worker William Reece, now on death row, in jail for the murders of Laura Smither and Jessica Cain in the late 1990's, as well as Kelly Ann Cox in North Texas and another woman in Oklahoma. Budding serial killer Jose Castillon, a former nursing home orderly, responsible for the deaths of two prostitutes and the attempted on a third in 2001, pled out to life without parole to avoid the death penalty. And there are scraps of information on potential others from here, there, and back again.
@@missdeejay they got two guys officially convicted: serial killer William Reece in the late '90s, and double murderer (potential serial) Jose Castillon in 2001. A third conviction is also in the mix because of the lone murder case of Crystal Baker. There are also two potential suspects: 1) Edward Harold Bell, a Long time sex offender who was serving a 70-year sentence in the murder of former marine Larry Dickens in 1978, who confronted Bell when Bell was caught with his pants down while creeping on some little girls. 2) The second one is the subject of the aforementioned Netflix limited DocuSeries: Clyde Hedrick. Hedrick is an all-around creep who prayed on his stepdaughter and is suspected to be responsible for the disappearance of the several girls who went missing in the '80s and early '90s, their bodies found in a secluded wooded area near a church on the far end of League City Texas.
Id love for the Murder of Billie Jean Phillips to be solved. She was bludgeoned to death in Madison County, Arkansas in 1994. We were close to her family, so it definitely hit home. There were so many suspects, yet it was swept under the rug, because she was known as the town hussy.
It was the Gretchen Harrington murder the one that partly inspired Alice Sebold to write her bestselling novel, "The Lovely Bones". Sebold lived only 9.5 miles from were Harrington lived with her family, and where she was ultimately murdered.
In 2024 I hope we can find out what happened to Natalee Holloway, the Beaumont children, Amelia Earhart and Glenn Miller, who killed Amber Hagerman, Vanessa Johnson Sosin, Bob Crane, Biggie Smalls, Jam Master Jay, Bobby Fuller, Jean Benet Ramsey, Bonnie Lee Bakely and Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman? There are way too many questions and not enough answers.
What happened to Kellisue Ackernecht? Kellisue was last seen September 30th, 2008 leaving her job as a shift supervisor at an Amsterdam Rite Aid around 9:45 p.m. She was driving a 10-year-old Saturn sedan. Three hours later, police found the car engulfed in flames a few blocks from her Johnstown home, with no sign of Kellisue. Watchmojo please do a video on this.
Arrests have been made, but most (if not all) of these suspects are still awaiting trial and are innocent until proven guilty. The cases aren't exactly solved until a conviction is made.
My former high school science teacher Audrey Gleave was murdered in Ancaster Ontario in 2010. I doubt it'll ever be solved. The lead detective had been known to bungle a lot of cases and quite a few of his cases are cold cases now.
I'm truly sorry to hear about your former high school science teacher, Audrey Gleave. It's heartbreaking when cases like these remain unsolved, and the impact is felt by the community. It's unfortunate when investigative challenges contribute to cold cases. Sending thoughts of strength and justice to you and everyone affected.

If it makes you feel better, the US Federal Witness Protection Program has a 100 percent success rate.
Man that's crazy! I'm sorry you never got answers
I'm really sorry that you don't have answers yet, I always wonder what happens to missing people.
Great video. So good to know the killers were caught. Also good to hear Detective Chennette from the Curran case use the word "enormity" correctly.
Thanks. It's a relief that justice prevailed.
CRYSTAL GOT JUSTICE???????? now crystal and her dad can rest well, omg this just made my entire year and I live in kentucky wow
I said the same thing when I heard. I live in Bardstown, and my heart goes out to her mother. She's one of the sweetest people I've ever met.

I could be wrong but wasn't the Tupac Shakur murder case solved this year? Last September, they finally made an arrest.
There's been an arrest but no trial or conviction. Technically it's still open
Still open and apparently the man who did it has confessed publicly to killing Tupac before.
Technically, most of the cases in the video have not made it trial yet. Most of them aren't officially "solved," just as Tupac's at this point.

Yeah oj did that shit for sure
I’m old enough to believe that OJ did not do it but 100 % his oldest son did it. It was always talk about it through the community… it adds up.
They arrested the guys who killed jam Master Jay a few years ago. Still awaiting trial. And I think her name is spelled jonbenet ramsey
it just shows how incompetent police are for some of these cases
Man, we LOVE genetic genealogy!!
I wish they could solve the Sodder children dissappreance or the Beamuont children case.
These are two cases that I've followed for a very long time :(
